The food is awesome! The best French restaurant I’ve been in Florida. I really admire the place it’s sooo cute. Outside, you will never think that it’s a fine dining. It looks like a cute old house. The server is very attentive and friendly. I will definitely come back and suggest it to other friends. Really love it!

Awesome Birthday experience! My family surprised me for my 35th birthday! I knew we had a private dining reservation for Le Coq Au Vin but it didn’t sink in until I arrived. Everything about this experience was top notch. Our family doesn’t drink so when our server popped a bottle of Sparkling Apple Cider, I knew the night was special. It was then when I realized the menu was a custom order for our family. We started the meal off with a Lobster Cappuccino adorned in gold flakes. It was just as good as it sounds! Each meal from there topped the last as we embarked on a seafood feast and ended with a decadent soufflé. I was extremely pleased with the intimate setting, fresh cut flowers, and pop trivia from the Master Chef himself, Mr. Reimund Pitz. We sat in a room filled with his accomplishments, mellow music, and pleasantly dimmed lights. After dinner, the Chef sat with my family and I letting us get to know the very path he took to become such a great Chef. He gave my enterprising nephew some sage advice on starting his own career path. Chef Pitz’s high standards of quality food, exceptional presentation, and most importantly… a strong dedicated passion for cooking. I am convinced there’s not one bad dish on the menu at this restaurant. It’s not just the food but the passion, camaraderie, and vision that everyone shares from the Host to the Master Chef. It is so important to everyone working with Chef Pitz that the very best is put forth each and every time. This was an unforgettable night to celebrate another year of life on this earth with the people I cherish. This restaurant is perfect for special occasion but it stands alone as one of the best restaurants in Orlando. The small, intimate setting matched with top level service will leave you and your party with no dissatisfaction. I can’t add anymore stars to this review.

Buyer beware! We purchased a travel zoo voucher for this restaurant for $ 69. Should have included an appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine. The red flag was raised when we were told that there would be a $ 10 up charge for the beef entrée, even though it was within the $ 35.95 limit. Ok, whatever we don’t want to be a pain so we go along. We order 2 deserts which was not included. When we get the bill it was for $ 45. What!!! We should have only paid for 2 deserts and tax. The lead waiter tried explaining that they charged us regular price and took the voucher price off. Sorry, that’s not how it works. You should have honored the voucher. Seemed super shady. In all, it’s a nice place with an older crowd. Oh, it did take ~45 minutes to an hour to get our entrees and another hour to get desert. We were there for nearly 3 hours! By the end we just wanted to leave, it was enough already. I guess they had a huge birthday party going on but at least tell us that it’ll be a while. I probably won’t go back anytime in the near future but it’s a nice place. Don’t bother buying the voucher though, they don’t honor them as they should.

Tried celebrating my fiancée’s birthday here and was very disappointed. If you’re looking for an intimate place for two this isn’t it. It’s a smaller establishment which makes for very close seating. At times I felt like I was at an Ale House because of how loud it was. The service was okay. There was a 20 top which had the kitchen backed up, but 2 and a half hours for dinner? Come on! We had a couple get seated 20 min after us, finish their entire mea, l pay and leave before we got our dessert. The dinner itself was just okay. I’ve been to places with far better quality steak and didn’t cost as much. This place is way over priced for the service and meal you eat. I won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

The food and service are top notch. The building is old and has that«old smell» but I totally recommend that you go if you can get past that. Absolutely order the soufflé. They are AMAZING!

Best French restaurant in Orlando! As a French woman I was so happy to find a place so traditional and delicious as this. To be quite honest, I shed a tear for how good the food was

I went on Friday(¾/16) at 6pm, to catch up with a friend. I ordered the Mousse de foie de Volaille(Chicken Pâté) for my appetizer and my friend had the Crevettes(shrimp with white sauce). I didn’t like the pâté. The shrimp was good. We bought a bottle at $ 36 and two beers at $ 8 each. Both really tasty. My friend got the pork special that night, which was a 14oz breaded pork chop with peppercorn sauce, au gratin potatoes, carrots and broccoli. That was really good. I got their Canard which is their duck leg and duck breast with cherries and pears, a cherry liquor sauce, and this weird sweet potato thing. Fantastic. All sweet and savory and yummy. My bill with the duck, pâté and two beers was $ 65 and my friend, with the bottle of moscato, pork chop and shrimp was about $ 90. If you want wine, buying a bottle is a better deal to last through dinner service. We both had enough to take home. My bf loved the duck even though it was reheated. Great service and ambiance. Icky pâté so they lose half a star. More expensive than other French restaurants in Orlando, so they lose another half star. I’d go again… eventually.

Delicious! We’ve dined here a few times and love the place. The duck and rabbit are very good. Escargot is perfect. I love the caramel soufflé. It’s amazing!!! We’ve dined in France and this place is very reminiscent. The little house and stained glass are so cute

This is a very intimate, quiet place, in fact I almost felt wrong for speaking above a murmur it is so intimate — so perfect for a date night. The service was friendly and our waiter kept a very careful eye on us — usually I drink so much water I’m having to constantly call waiters over but here our waiter was very good with that and also didn’t make us feel rushed while still keeping things moving. For appetizer we had the soufflé au fromage which was delicious — some of the cheese inside wasn’t totally melted so it gave it the perfect burst of flavor, and was also beautiful. Then for an entrée I shared the Poulet«Coq au Vin» which was delicious as well and the sides served with it were very well rounded and delicious — the green beans and carrots were a very nice touch. They have amazing cappuccinos — tons of foam and cinnamon and brown sugar sprinkled on top. Then for dessert we of course had to have the chocolate soufflé. The chocolate soufflé was positively delicious(it was demolished as soon as I set my camera down) — and the homemade whipped cream served on top should be sold by the jar. Overall we had a wonderful experience here, from the quiet atmosphere to the perfect service and amazing food.

We were provided a most dismal service on Christmas eve. We had reserved a table a couple of months back but they did not specify that they have a fixed menu(we had called on two separate occasions). That was disappointing to find out when we got there, but it was the attitude of the maitre D that was awful. We have dined here several times before, but never again. I can’t remember when I have had such service before. Addendum: their website lists a fixed Christmas menu(not a fixed Christmas eve menu) in addition to their classic menu.

What a great find tucked away in an Orlando neighborhood. The mussels, French soup, boar, and soufflé was outstanding. The food was superb and environment quaint. My only complaint is, our waiter was average and I feel paid less attention to us than his regulars. We had to pour our second glass of champagne and ask another waiter for something.

My husband and I ate here for Magical Dining month. We had seen the place a while back and thought it was the perfect chance to give it a try. The dining room was cute and cozy. It made me feel like we were back in Richmond, VA. We both stared with the onion soup which was very flavorful. We both had beef For the main course and they were delicious. We finished our meal with soufflés and they were amazing. We will be back. We just need to find a reliable babysitter.

Such high hopes and expectations; such crushing disappointment. Everything about our experience here was worse than the previous bit before it. We visited on a Saturday night at 6:30PM for Magical Dining Month. Walking up to the building, the place was already packed. One of our friends had arrived ahead of us, and was already drinking a beer. Spoiler alert: she would later comment that the beer was the best thing she was served that night. There are two dining areas, and we were seated in what seemed to be the larger one. We noted that we were youngest group in the room, by about 20 years. As the night went on, some other younger groups did arrive. Across our group of four, we ordered the tomato tart, onion soup, coq au vin(one with breast, one with thigh), the tourenado(one rare, one medium rare), the soufflé(one with grand marnier, one with raspberry), the crêpe suzette, the apple tart, some coffee, and some wine. Since we were doing the prix fixe menu, we ordered everything all at once. Since my wife was unfamiliar with the wines they serve there, she asked for a suggestion for a wine that paired well with her tourenado. «What do you normally drink?» «Cabs» «We have one of those.» Sorry, that’s not a suggested pairing. The cabernet he «sugggested»? It sucked. It tasted vinegary. He «suggested» a blend that they also had. That one went over much better. The first course had things looking good. The soup, while small, was very good. The tomato tart was also a big hit. The second course was made of disappointment. The fillets in the tourenado were tiny, bland, and overcooked. The vegetables were unevenly cooked. The pasta in the coq au vin was overcooked and mushy. The chicken was bland, tough and bordering on rubbery. Nobody was happy with their entrees. Next up was a course of waiting. I know that souffles take longer to make, but we ordered everything all at once. Even still, we waited almost half an hour for our desserts — which wouldn’t have been so bad if they were good. The apple tart was«passable». The person who ordered the crêpe kept trying to pawn it off on everyone else. The soufflé with the grand marnier was alright, but unspectacular. The soufflé with raspberries was downright bad. The custard was undercooked and the raspberries tasted like something out of a can. They were bitter. Maybe everything was done poorly because they were doing batches of things for Magical Dining Month. Maybe it was just a bad night. All I know for sure is that we won’t be back.

My husband and I have been wanting to dine here for years. We see their menu every September when Magical Dining month rolls around but never actually made it out to dine. Tonight we finally made it happen and I’m so glad we did. Our meal was outstanding! Our server was Dino, very polite, knowledgeable and attentive. I chose to order from the Magical dining menu, my husband did not. Our entrées were both quite good, but the stars of our meals were the onion soup and Grand Marnier soufflé. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy both dishes again. I also enjoyed the rustic décor and at home feel of the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening out to celebrate my husband’s birthday!

We attended the restaurant as a group of six — three couples, celebrating a retirement dinner. Service(Vaughn) was excellent the entire night. First impression — wine list with plenty of options. Appetizers were fantastic — daily special of lobster bisque was very delicious, with noticeably large chunks of lobster. The cheese soufflé, which is on the regular menu, was incredible. I will be ordering it again on my next visit. My entrée was the«Bronze Duck», which was notable not only for its flavor and sauce, but also for the accompaniments of sweet potato and ratatouille. My wife loved her eggplant dish. Dessert for us was the caramel soufflé for my wife, and chocolate soufflé for me; both were excellent. The ambiance was warm and inviting; upscale but not intimidating. The owner stopped by our table to inquire as to the quality of our experience. We will definitely be returning!

So so good! One of my all time favorites in Orlando. Never had a bad meal-never tried anything that wasn’t absolutely delicious. Even after 20 something years!

Cute place, very good food. Delicious lamb chops, salmon, the tomato salad was one of the most amazing I’ve ever had, the bread is out of this world, I could go on and on. Overall great experience and would definitely recommend.

I was really excited to finally try out Le Coq Au Vin during Magical Dining Month. I went with 5 friends the first weekend of MDM. It was raining out, and the restaurant didn’t seem terribly busy. The room we were sat in echoed quite a bit, so it always felt really loud even when there were only a handful of occupied tables. The tables were also extremely close to one another, which seemed like a pain not only for the waiters but also for tables who maybe wanted some privacy. Maybe that was just the room we were sat in. I don’t know, as I didn’t peak into the other dining areas. The room we were in was quite rustic décor wise, which was cute. Our server was fantastic and friendly. He kept us loaded up on drinks and bread, and had great recommendations for wine & appetizers. His thoroughness and knowledge of the menu was definitely the best part of the experience. The food was good, but I thought my steak was a bit tough and very, very peppery. I had ordered off the MDM menu, and I wish I had selected the fish dish or the chicken. The potatoes and veggies were delicious, but the peppery sauce of the steak drenched everything. For dessert, I upgraded my dessert to the chocolate flavored soufflé that Le Coq Au Vin boasts about. It was good, but not great. I think I expected something a bit more chocolatey.

Not my favorite. I would not recommend this restaurant. Ambiance: The restaurant is in an old house that might seem charming if it wasn’t so warm inside. This is an upscale restaurant so our party is «dressed» for dinner. I felt bad for our husbands who all wore dress slacks and dress shirts. It is another Florida hot summer day in June and at 6:00 pm it is still in the high 90“s outside. The restaurant“s air conditioning must be set high or has difficulty meeting demand. Our waiter was even sweating the whole time… not attractive! Service: The service was not up to par. I repeatedly asked for water that never came. Plates were given to the wrong people at our table. Two people ate some before they realized so they just kept the mixed up plates. Food: I had the breaded pork with spatzle, the dish reminded me of school cafeteria food. Bland(very salty) and nothing special. Finished with a dessert of chocolate bread pudding. It was visually pleasing, however it was hard and chewy, not edible. Wine by the glass I ordered was stale. When I complained they brought a fresh glass, opened a new bottle, and poured the wine. It was very good. The waiter proceeded to tell me the bottle, that the stale wine had been poured from, most likely was opened on Sunday and then they were closed on Monday, and no one must have ordered the wine on Tuesday, so now by Wednesday night it must have gotten stale. …You think!!! One star from me

So its the big day, V Day. I want to take Niki somewhere very special. We both love French food and Ive heard that Le Coq Au Vin has incredible Soufflé. I made a reservation and now that the bigday is here we are so excited. When we arrived we were seated promptly. Our drink order was taken but sadly no liquor. We agreed on a bottle of red instead. After looking over the selections available I ordered the Foie Gras, Mixed Greens with Duck, Rack Of Lamb, and Grand Marnier Soufflé for dessert. All were excellent and the soufflé was to die for. Cant wait to bring her here again.
