Lowe’s Home Improvement

Now they no better!!! I have been to this location over 20 times Im sure. They have Always maintained a courteous staff and a clean, easy to find item store. we ended up going on the east side today and stopped thru to look at some custom Windows and flooring. Our experience was pleasant and we had help everywhere we went. Things went well as usual until my bladder told finally to find the restroom asap… it is a shame what I saw esp being that the restrooms appear to be near the employee offices and break room. (Maybe I’m wrong here but I passed 3 workers as I entered the bathroom). I’m done talking about it so check the pics for urself. They are still a average to better than average lowe’s but they lose cool points for the bathroom condition. Any way they get a 2 from me today instead of a 4. Yes that’s how disappointed it was. Out

I am remodeling my place so I came here and bought some supply including flooring. The prices were decent and the staff was helpful. When I went to pick up the floor they forgot to give me the spacers. I quickly called and they wrote it down for me to go get them the next day.
Overall, decent experience and great place to get home improvement supply. For my remodeling I will probably be back to Lowes for more supply.

My wife went in to get paint on a Sunday, while I waited in the car with our children. After looking for awhile and waiting for the one person in paint, approached two employees laughing and very apparently not busy. One named Brandon. Asked if there was someone who could help. His comment was, «that is the guy over there». She asked if there was anyone else. He said, «that is the guy» and turned around chatted it up with the other cohort. Angered me a bit because I have credit cards at both Home Depot and Lowes. I know Lowes is always 5−8% higher. However, their customer service is normally much better. I went in and had the same experience. Not sure what the idea was of having one person in the whole store to work in paint on a Sunday midday in Spring. Also surprised to see Brandon laughing it off. I guess I grew up seeing Sam Walton fire staff if they did not take the client to the item or at least try.
Know not to expect if from Wal-​Mart now, however do expect more if anyone is to pay more with mostly the same items. Will not go there again to pay more money for less service for the same items unless the SUV breaks down in the parking lot.

I’ve always been sort of partial towards Lowe’s over Home Depot. I especially love this one. It’s close to my house, clean and I have learned the layout. I have noticed that they are priced just a bit higher on certain items, but I still prefer Lowe’s. Very friendly and helpful staff. Just an FYI… they price match AND give an additional 10% off!

The more I visit these big box stores, the more disinterested I become. It’s such a hassle finding what you’re looking for because of how big these places are and the aisle descriptions are a bit vague. It’s also a challenge trying to find someone to help you. The only thing I enjoyed about this particular Lowe’s was the big display of Halloween and Christmas inflatables. They have a wide selection of giant inflatables as well as the normal size ones.

I was scrambling around and this awesome guy helped us out in finding everything we needed all over. I felt the need to write a review in hopes of him getting accredited. Thank you so much, Robert! (Robert @ 2pm 10÷8÷14)

This is going to be a long review. Here’s the short version: Lowe’s has been horrible, both in the work they have done and the customer service they provided me. I started this project in APRIL. It is now AUGUST and I’m still trying to get them to do what they promised. Whenever I tell anyone about this disaster, they tell me they’ve heard plenty of bad things about Lowe’s installation services, and most people who’ve used Home Depot have had good experiences. I hope this review helps anyone looking to use Lowe’s services make a better decision than I did!!!

I had my kitchen cabinets designed and installed by the Lowe’s on Lake Underhill. I should have known it was going to be a disaster when they forgot to schedule the plumber to cap off the water lines during the demolition of my old cabinets. They blamed this mishap on ME, saying that I never asked for them to do the water lines, and that I wasn’t even able to have them do it since I didn’t purchase my countertops from them (what the countertops have to do with demolition I still don’t understand). They «forgot» to order two cabinets, one showed up later than the rest and I had to rush home from work to sign for it, the second never made it to my house until the installers (a separate company) realized it was missing on the day of installation. They scrambled at the store and «found one» for me. Then the real issues started to occur. They didn’t bring enough molding to cover the shims that were sticking out of the bottom of the cabinets (they stuck out so much, my puppy was constantly trying to chew them — huge hassle) and they told me that «that’s just how we do it». Yeah, right, I’m sure. So I’m just supposed to live with a kitchen with scrap lumber (shims) sticking out of the bottom? They finally agreed to put molding down after the owner of the installation company came out and agreed that it looked ridiculous. There were also several drawer fronts and cabinet doors that were damaged or had huge knots in them, and the wine rack cabinet also has a big ding in the lattice and a few scratches as well. From the start they assured me that anything that didn’t look good would be replaced. Well, they ordered half of what I asked for and half of what they DID bring was broken. They didn’t even open the boxes and inspect these items before they left the store. Keep in mind I have to take a day off/​half day off work EVERY SINGLE TIME they «forget» something and have to make another trip out. This is something they could not care less about — YOUR TIME. It’s not their problem. If it takes a year to get everything right (I’m at 4 – 5 months), they don’t see a problem. So then they order more stuff — cabinet doors, drawer fronts, molding, and the wine cabinet. I think there was a drawer front that took three times to get right — but the huge issue I’m STILL dealing with is the wine rack. As I said, this job started in APRIL. It’s August. And the wine rack has been ordered 4 times. The GM, Art Lucas, has told me «we get one more time.» As in, I OWE THEM another «try». Is this professional? His staff is all the same way — won’t hesitate to catch an attitude or a condescending tone. I am at the point of getting a lawyer to try to get some of my money back, and I’m afraid that they’ll damage more stuff in the process of replacing the wine rack. I have asked them to send me a check (I WILL NOT take a credit, as I will NEVER shop there again) for the cabinets and my time. I’d rather explain to everyone who sees the damaged cabinet how horrible of a company Lowe’s is than have these people in my house ever again.

I love this location, everyone is willing to go out of their way to answer questions! We have even used their delivery services and they delivered way a head of schedule!
Don’t forget to sign up for the «My Lowe’s» card. It will help you remember the name of that paint you bought a few years ago and help you track purchases.

Overall, I really like this store. I have a MyLowe’s rewards card that I use here as well. Obviously, the main competitor is Home Depot… some people say Home Depot’s prices are lower but I really have not found much of a difference. I mainly find that Lowe’s is a more pleasurable place to shop. It seems less crowded and the ratio of staff: shoppers is better than in Home Depot.
SELECTION
Very wide selection, and more available by special order. Huge store with a lot to choose from. I enjoy the garden area — many varieties of plants, including unique foliage & exciting edibles.
PRICES
I find that they have great prices — often much better than places like Garden Ridge.
SERVICE
I generally have a positive experience here. When purchasing heavy things like pavers, they send someone to help me load my vehicle — without me asking. Sometimes it can be a little slow checking out, but it doesn’t bother me.

The only major issue I’ve had is finding a damn customer service rep for a specific department to help me out. But if you grab the nearest guy and tell him to send someone, usually they will and do a good job of getting someone there. I like to get in and out of places like this with what I need, and so I get a bit impatient.
However, we broke some light fixtures we had bought trying to hang them and they replaced them on the spot at no cost to us. Really cool. They’ve also let me have returns for store credit without a receipt.
They didn’t follow up on calling me when I ordered carpet, but calling them was not a big deal to me and it all got done. I liked their selection of carpet and the prices were fair since carpet labor really costs a lot no matter who you have do it. I’ve also been really happy with their selection of light fixtures for houses, wood flooring for bedrooms and landscaping supplies. I get my red rock there and am looking to buy trees there as well.
Also — when they installed my carpet they left my house a complete MESS! They even broke the grout in my bathroom and didn’t bother to say anything. So don’t sign that paperwork they ask you to sign until they clean up after themselves. Richard was the crappy lazy ass I got doing my carpet — I told the company not to bother sending him back into my home but that i would hire a cleaning company to clean. I never wanted to see that man again. The management called me and came by my house that same day to look and sent their tile guy out to fix my grout the very next day. AMAZING MANAGEMENT TEAM! Horrible team members though. It’s a shame when you have some people working their tails off and others who could not care less. Cut off the fat…

In comparison to Home Depot… here is the deal.
Prices are likely a bit higher than Home Depot. But this is a good thing for once because they price match and typically give you 10% off.
For sure Lowes will have more staff in the store than home depot. More often than not I’m approached by the staff with a friendly greeting and they seem to always want to help you.

My husband and I are here at least twice a weekend for the past 3 years or so working on the house and now the nursery. Located at Lake Underhill and Alafaya. Helpful staff!
