The dock, located just outside the gates of the Magic Kingdom, are clearly labeled to get you where you need to go. In the other direction is the monorail. There are different boats that go to different locations. It is a quick trip to Wilderness Lodge. My recommendation is that they run 2 boats at peak times to minimize any wait times. We did have a brief wait only one time when the boat to Wilderness Lodge was full. Pay attention to the signs so you get to the right location.

The boat transportation from MK to Wilderness Lodge is still terrible. The boats that go to Lodge are few & far between. They treat the people staying at the camp ground, who pay practically nothing to stay there, much better than those who are paying a premium for a nice hotel.

The Magic Kingdom Docks are a great place to take a scenic boat ride. Whew! This is the final review from my recent trip to Disney. It may have taken me a few months, but i am finally done. The Magic Kingdom Docks are, not surprisingly, located outside the gates of The Magic Kingdom. This is where you catch a boat to several different resorts, or just take a scenic boat ride. The thing to remember when boarding a vessel is to check the signage to ensure you’re in the right line. We were heading to the Wilderness Lodge and almost boarded the vessel to Ft. Wilderness. I have a feeling my kids would not have appreciated the delay in arriving for lunch even if it meant more boat rides. The vessels that depart from these docks are of many different styles. There were both old steamship replicas and the more modern friendship vessels that are seen around many Disney resorts. I am particularly fond of the friendship vessels as they have a great rear deck seat that gives a great view while underway. The trip from the docks to the lodge took around 15 or so minutes. The neatest part about the trip was that we actually went over a roadway tunnel. That view is one I have never experienced while onboard a boat. I’ve always been the guy in the car. Even if you don’t have a destination in mind, try taking a ride from these docks. I bet you’ll have a good time.
