Fast service. Great quality. Very nice atmosphere. The family comes here every year and this year did not dissapoint. Pro tip: Ask for extra ginger dressing on the side. Goes well with everything else!

Exceptionally expensive and the quality of the Japanese food was that of any other Japanese steakhouse in America but twice as expensive. We were the only ones in the place and it took them forever to serve us and bring us our checks. Not impressed in the slightest. For the money you pay the entertainment value and quality of food should be much better.

Christmas 2015, My husband and I were just arrived to the Marriott where we were staying for vacation and decided to place our bags in the room and go down for dinner. the atmosphere was divine, the light show exquisite, but the WAITERWASAWFUL… He blew it for the whole place. Didn’t go back the whole 4 day stay!

Chef Toshio was the bomb I’ve been to a few Japanese steak houses and he was definitely entertaining and the food was very good.

Where do I begin… Let me start by saying I only had the sushi bar, so I can’t comment on the hibachi at all. The sushi was sub par at best, I mean literally I’ve had better sushi from day old grocery store sushi. I have no problem with that if I’m paying 7 – 9 dollars for a roll but I spent $ 38 on 2 rolls!!! This sushi was tip toeing on the sushi grade line, because the tune had a terrible texture and very light color. I had the dragon roll(one of my favorites) and the rice was way over cooked and pasty, the fish again was borderline crunchy. I also ordered the spicy tuna roll, a very very easy roll something I feel like you would have to deliberately screw up on purpose for it to be bad. I feel like all they did was put a few drops of hot sauce on the tuna and throw it out there. The only redeeming factor of my entire meal was the tart I had for dessert… period. PS the guy who I ate with also was very displeased with his food. PSS the design of that bar is terrible lol like seriously, you are starring at a wall. You had no interaction at all with the chefs, it felt as though I was a kid again and was in trouble and placed in the corner.

Appetisers are huge! But too good to miss! Great chef — loved the tricks — and even taught me a tip or 2! Food was the best we have had for a long time — tasty! Too full to try the desserts! Would definitely come back next time we are on holiday here.

I am a big fan of sushi. In fact, it’s my favorite food. So I’ve been to quite a few good sushi restaurants. I have to admit that this restaurant has, by far, the WORST sushi I have ever had. I ordered the salmon role as well as the eel roll. The salmon roll was just mushy salmon loosely rolled(which is not proper) in unseasoned rice(traditional sushi rice is «seasoned» with rice vinegar). The eel roll had cucumber, avocado, and eel. The eel tasted as if it had not been cleaned properly and the cucumber was roughly chopped(the art of sushi lies in the precision of the cuts of fish and vegetables). Again, it was loosely rolled and the rice was unseasoned. Before sushi I ordered miso soup. This was not the worst miso soup I had ever had, but it certainly wasn’t the best. I almost couldn’t call miso soup. It was supposed to have a miso/dash I base with tofu and maybe onions/mushrooms. Instead it was like chicken miso base with chicken and mushrooms? I ordered the green tea which was actually pretty good(thank goodness). The only reason I am giving this 2 stars instead of 1 star is that the service was better than average. The server was friendly and helpful. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was the worst $ 35 I’ve ever spent.

Had a blast with Chef Toshio!!! Food was delicious and filling. Chef Toshio had us in stitches laughing and in awe with his skills. We were a big group of 11 and he gave us the attention we deserved. Great memories for our time away from work.

Nice restaurant, typical of most teppan style restaurants. The salad dressing was really good as was the filet, but other than that nothing was out of the ordinary. Drink are terribly expensive and the pour, skimpy

Great food. Fantastic chef and food prep before your eyes. Nice atmosphere too. CAUTION: They have trouble with credit card payment. We had a party of 7 and waited 50 minutes after finishing our meal for some to return with a receipt to sign.

We came here for dinner as a large group. There were 12 of us total, and this was a perfect spot for a group meal. Special thanks to Katie at the Falls pool bar who suggested it. The service was great and so was the food. The chefs were lots of fun, doing tricks and engaging the crowd. Just what you’d expect from a Hibachi restaurant. Everything was delicious, and we had a great time. You’ll want to make a reservation to ensure you can get a table, especially because this place is not open every night.

We were all pleasantly surprised by how good the food & service were at Mikado. We went in with low expectations due to the many negative reviews on Unilocal.Overall, We had a great time there, shrimp, scallops were all very fresh & well seasoned. The NY Steak & chicken were good. Sushi & sashimi were really fresh as well. The restaurant was packed & the folks without a reservation was given a wait time of 1−½ hour. Our Chef Dan was very good, funny, great with kids & performed all the tricks you come to expect from a Tepan chef. Vannessa(Hostess) was very accommodating & friendly, so was our waitress Kimberly. The only two issues we came across was one they were out of filet mignon & two when we had to wait for our bill, took our waitress forever due to a computer glitch they said.

If you have the slightest sense of taste/quality/experience when it comes to dining then this the WORST place you could go. DONOT fall for this tourist scam! 1. Lets start with the salad. Literally it came out of a bag with presliced carrots and topped with a store bought crappy dressing. Underwhelming is an understatement. 2.The Ikura was not fresh at all. Usually they pop when you eat them. They were mushy with no snap. Horrible quality. 3. As far as the dinners go, EVERYTHING is seasoned with the same seasoning. No matter what you order you will get the same«Japanese Magic Seasoning», soy sauce, salt and pepper on everything. 4. The shrimp sample that comes with every meal is THESAME shrimp that comes with the dinner. Also the shrimp is some slimy farm raised blue crap from Thailand(even tho we are in Florida close to beautiful pink Gulf shrimp). 5. Overpriced. At $ 25 a meal it might be worth it for the«experience». At $ 36+/meal it is an absolute rip off. We’re in top restaurants in the country numbers at that point. Absurd. 6. I called to complain to the manager 10 minutes after leaving and was informed that because I had left she could not do anything with my bill. And because they are closed for the rest of the week there was nothing she would do to help me. The server was fine. Friendly and took care of my over bitter/sour mixed crap drink. But even with that off the bill it still came to $ 155 for 2 sakes 2 dinners and an appetizer. GTFO! If the owner is reading this and wants to make up for the absolute rip off of an experience feel free to respond.

This one didn’t meet my high hopes for a good dinner. During my stay I have dined at all the other restaurants and wasn’t dissapointed. This was just ok and if I ever need to stay at this hotel again I will probably pass on this restaurant. I dined outside since it was such a wonderful night. It was super dark so that the guests and waiters could barely read the menus and checks. My waiter explained to me at the end of the meal that construction crews had accidentally cut the wiring to the lights. The restaurant should have brought out some form of lighting or candles for each table. Since they are part of one of the largest Marriott’s in the world they could have easily remedied the situation if the effort was made. Outside they only serve starters and sushi which was perfect since that is what I had come for anyway. I ordered a tempura roll and a spicy tuna roll. The tempura roll was the best of the two. It was good but I’ve had better at several other restaurants. The spicy tuna roll was disappointing. It lacked any distinguishable flavor and didn’t have the slightest bit of spice. I ate a piece of ginger with each bite to get some form of taste. For drinks I started out with the $ 12 Blushing Budda. It came in a mini glass the size you find in your room. The only thing blushing about it was they charged $ 12 for a mini glass of juice that had no detectable alcohol. I haven’t had this issue at any other restaurant on site. I then switched to a glass of wine which tasted fine and was well portioned. My waiter was very nice, delivered everything correctly, and checked on me a few times. The other servers around me seemed to be just as nice and attentive.

Atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. Many families and vacationers dining. Service was good at the beginning as far as drinks soup and salad. Chef prepared a good meal. Steak lacked flavor. Shrimp was excellent. Service declined with dinner service one of the table members had to locate a hostess to get continue drinks through dinner. Meal was very reasonably priced and the miso soup was outstanding.

If you’re coming to Mikado and are wanting to eat the hibachi grill I cannot speak for the experience. If you love the delicate texture of fish that is expertly prepared and served the sushi bar is definitely the place to go. It is definitely a little pricey(as is everyplace on this resort) but the quality of the fish served was worth the extra expenditure. The service was a little less tentative than what I would normally expect from a high-end service, as it was provided by the same gentleman that served as the bartender. But he tried to make up for it with the extra touch of pouring our soy sauce and ensuring we had every accoutrement necessary for a more than satisfactory experience. I recommend it

Stayed at the hotel for 3 days on business. Ate dinner here with customers one night. Sat at the teppanyaki and ordered a feast because it was our last night. We ordered the evening premium special. We had a started of Vietnamese Phở noodle soup, chefs special of course, probably a Vietnamese chef, it was good. Then Chinese dumplings, second starter. Followed by our dinner, lobster, scallops and steak, with vegetables and rice cooked on the teppan. No one was able to finish their food. The food was good and the cook was entertaining without being overly ignoring like some others can get when you sit at the teppanyaki. I think he sense that we have been here before and toned it down, we appreciated it. Then came dessert, we all just looked at our dessert, it looked good but no one was able to put a mouth full down. The price was expensive however they give a ton of food, this is Orlando and I guess we should have known better and not waste. Worth a visit if you are staying at the hotel but don’t expect anything extraordinary. One pet peeve, when you go to a Japanese restaurant I just want all things Japanese not Chinese and Vietnamese. In comparison it is like going to an Italian restaurant and getting a starter of fish and chips. It not bad but just wrong. This is the future, everything will be fusion I suppose and I should take a chill pill.

I ate at the sushi bar. I had sashimi which was definitely okay. The service was also okay hence the three stars. Would not come except late night arrival at the hotel. Convenient and price not crucial. Supermarket sushi at restaurant prices.

What can you expect… its a hotel tourist trap restaurant in the biggest tourist trap city in the country. You’re going to get exactly what you pay for! Hibachi restaurants are usually expensive but this one especially. The food was fine and the chefs were entertaining but I’ve had better hibachi food at a road stop off the Jersey Turnpike. Overall, its fine if you’re staying in the hotel and have no preference but I would recommend spending your money else where.

Chef show reminds you of Benihana. They have 1 of the best menu selections within the hotel — sushi, steaks, etc. The chefs do not like a lot of variety when they cook so the difference between medium and medium well steak is not much. Make sure to read the menu as ordering a entrée comes with a bowl of rice, some stir fry veggies, soup so by the time your entrée is cooked by the(same) chef — you could be full. They do their best to seat people as quickly as possible but when there is a large conference at the hotel — beware as it is normal for people to socialize and it leads to longer waits since they normally have to seat the whole table together.
