Glad this exchange was kept open after the base closed. It has a fair selection of hard goods considering the size. The mini commissary is decent too. I love coming here with family when I’m on leave. Glad to see it’s here for all the Vets!

This is the Navy’s best kept secret in Orlando! This little hidden gem is convenient for when we fly into Orlando to hit the theme parks. After arriving, we head over to this combination NEX/Commissary to load up on water, snacks, lunch foods and adult beverages that will hold us over during our stay. It’s convenient, easily accessible, fair prices and pretty much has everything you may need whether you live here or are visiting. We like that we can stock up while still at the airport and head straight to our resort. Are the prices at Walmart or Publix better? Maybe but since I’m on vacation I really don’t want to be searching and store hopping when I can get it all here in one place! As with any other military exchange and commissary this is not open to the public. It serves, Active Duty, retirees and family members that hold a valid DODID card. Do not expect a huge NEX or commissary like you would in San Diego or Norfolk. This is a combination of both but it has quite a bit for the size that it is. Package store is also on the premises. There is also a MWRITT on site! Highly recommend for those that are in the area!

The NEX is for retired and active military personnel and their families. They have a little of everything from big screen TVs to designer clothing, purses and sunglasses. They even have a grocery section! From what I’ve seen their prices are a bit higher then you would pay in the real world which means even with the tax-free you would break even. Shop around; the only purchases that might be a deal would be the big tickets items. If you’re near the exchange and it is convenient then hit it up, it is usually pretty crowded!

For active and retired military and the occasional civilian… cough, cough that knows how to work the system. It’s like they took Kmart, Walmart, Sears, Sam’s, Costco, and Best Buy rolled into one and put it in a building run by the government or in this case the Navy since it’s on the property of the old NTC just west of the Airport. It’s like a mini mall that has just about everything from groceries, appliances, electronics, booze, optical, haircare, clothes and a bunch of other stuff. It’s not open to the public per se but if you ever served your country it’s there for you as a benefit. Go use it on Uncle Sam.
