This placed has declined steadily over the past year or so. I have eaten here a couple of times a month for years(first when it was the Sicilian and then Spiro’s) and the dropoff in quality of service and food is astounding. They give a cup of soup free with every meal and lately it’s just a cup of thin liquid with a few peas or pieces of cabbage. Horrible. On one of my last visits, I ordered the eggplant Parmigiana and the server told me it was just delivered and it was«still frozen». The same thing happened previously when I ordered the lasagna. Are they buying pre-made food from someplace like Sysco and selling it as homemade? Obviously, they are. I agree with some of the other reviews that the garlic knots are great and the pizza is decent but the rest of the food has taken a nosedive in terms of freshness and quality. Service has also declined as well. Seems everytime I come they have a bunch of new servers who don’t even know the menu. A bunch of us from the office came for lunch one day and we all ordered salads. It took over 45 minutes to get our food and some of us had to take it to go because of the interminable wait. I heard that Nick & Gina’s might close and I can truly understand why.

We just can’t get enough of the food here and the personality of this restaurant! Nick came out and told us to make sure we had room for dessert and boy am I glad we did, we had the cannoli, it was fantastic!

They ran out of lasagna at noon, no chicken breast, and it took forever. They were not packed just slow and disorganized

I really like this place. I mean it isn’t fine dining, but for a go-to pizza place or eggplant parm, it’s just awesome. Servers are nice, and they have great garlic knots too.

Voted by me as Restaurant Most in Need of a Parking Lot Repaving, Spiro’s on Lee Road across from Del Frisco’s is no longer Spiro’s. It is now called Nick and Gina’s. A comfortable and casual Italian restaurant, I’ve been here about three times over the years I’ve worked in this hood. Each time, I think the name of the place has been different. Even when it was named Spiro’s, I believe it was still Italian, not Greek as the name would suggest. I’ve never tried their pizzas, but on my most recent visit, they looked and smelled like something I’ll want to try next time I go there. I ordered a Stromboli, which was fine, although Strombolis always taste the same to me. My Italian taste buds aren’t especially well-cultivated. If you’re in the I4-Lee Road area and are in the mood for Italian, Nick and Gina’s is a good bet.

Stopped by and grabbed a pizza and garlic knots(b/c of Kelly F’s review) and I was impressed. The pizza had great flavor and the garlic knots were dripping in buttery garlicy goodness. As the girl at the cash register said… where else can you get a fresh made pizza at this price. She was right, the price was great and the food was too. Apparently they make their crust and sauce right there and it’s good. Met the new owners and they said they were going to change the name but nothing else. Definitely worth a try!

We have gone to Spiro’s for some time now and have loved it! Although, last night we went and were very disappointed. I always order the Eggplant Parmesan and I love it… when it was served to me, I immediately could smell that the sauce was different… the smell reminded me of cheap jar sauce. When I tasted it, that confirmed it… it was not good! I asked the waitress if they changed their sauce… she said, «yes, 2 months ago, Spiro’s changed hands». I told her that I liked the previous sauce much better and said that others had told her that as well. So, unless they go back to the original sauce, we won’t be going back although we love their garlic knots! It’s such a shame… why change a good thing?

Italian food is not my favorite mainly because I’m not a big fan of pasta dishes and red sauce gives me heart burn. However, if I am going to partake in some Italian fare it MUST be worth my while… and it MUST be at the Sicilian Restaurant and Pizzeria. I discovered this place through some friends who suggested we do dinner there one night. After eating one of their delicious, melts in your mouth garlic knots I was hooked. These AMAZING little bread rolls drizzled with olive oil and always served hot come with every meal and you’re guaranteed to eat so many of these things that you won’t be able to finish or sometimes even eat your meal. This happens to me every time I go there. The other items on their menu are equally as phenomenal. For an appetizer, I highly recommend the mozzarella caprese. With thick slices of fresh buffalo mozzarella cheese on top of a thick, ripe tomato slice and drizzled with olive oil what’s not to love? For your main dish, the baked ziti is to die for. It comes out smokin’ hot and oozing with cheese and tomato sauce. If pizza is what you like most, they do a good job with this too. The crust is not too thick, but the right consistency to hold all of the sauce, cheese and toppings without getting soggy or droopy while consuming it. And if you’d prefer a dish that is more protein based, their chicken and veal dishes are all very tasty. Like most Italian restaurants, the portions are huge, which means you will usually have enough to take home for the next day. They carry the usual Italian dessert options, but tiramisu is the way to go. All of the servers are very nice and the owner is usually on site helping his staff in some manner. Seating is limited because this place isn’t very big, but I’ve never encountered too long of a wait because they do a good amount of take out business as well. Overall, the Sicilian gets a thumbs up and is highly recommended by me :)
