Just walked out of here, not only did they not carry the tri-​color ink for my HP printers (940XL) but it took almost 10 minutes for someone to help me.
At the register I had 2 coupons (one fore $ 10 off $ 40, and one for $ 5 off $ 25) but the cashier refused to honor both; though I had enough items to split into 2 transactions in order for both coupons to be valid, he refused to do it.
I cannot say I will purchase ink, toner or anything for that matter from Office Max again. If you enjoy saving money this is not the place to go.

Have what I need usually. Staff is OK. Not better or worse than any other store.

I have been to the store a couple times recently and I have had a fairly good experience.
I think the store is average, but I think that their customer service makes up for what the store may be lacking. At first I feel like the staff is a little pushy (always asking «Can I help You?» when ever you get close to making eye contact) that is a huge turn off to me maybe I am weird. When you actually do need help and ask them they are truly help full and knowledgeable.
My last two experiences I had were:
I used their printing service to print some color prints, I gave them a flash drive and they pulled it up on their computer and then printed out my copies. very help full
Then I went in there looking for a specific software, one of the guys was near and I asked for some help. He helped me look through all the items on the shelf then provided some great advise (I did not end up buying anything but they did not have what I needed and because I was not pushed into something I did not need I value their help and I will go back).

I have had two recent experiences here and they were both pretty positive. I was immediately greeted on my first visit and the lady that greeted me stopped where she was walking to and took me around to the item I was looking for. The second item she pointed me to the direct isle, yay positive customer service!
This place is huge so if you are looking for one specific thing, you could get lost in just checking everything out or in search of your item. I suggest you ask! The prices are not the cheapest but if you are in need, this place will provide.
This morning I was in search of a wireless mouse because my track pad crapped out on me. No one greeted me upon my entrance but I was approached within 5 min while I was checking out the wireless mice. He recommended the one I went with and it was a pretty good price and it’s allowing me to type this review so I can’t complain. Also, the gentleman who checked me out was super friendly, nice touch!

No help to be found
I was waiting in line to what I thought was checkout, but was really a copy machine
They DON’T sell permanent markers (WTF!)
Will never ever come here again.
