Horrible … Avoid! Franchise owners Bill and Joni are awful. They are pushy and unpleasant. So awkward. Very serious about this review don’t waste your time or money here. There are hidden sign up and cancellation fees, so expect to pay a lot for tanning at this company. Also expect pushy sales schemes and awful, terrible customer service.

WARNING: the owner tries to sell a membership hard. I was quite annoying and I almost walked out even though I already purchased a Groupon. I was willing to flush the money than listen to this guy another second. You can ask a very direct yes or no question and will get a long drawn out response and no real answer to your question. Frustrating to say the least. The pace of life in this salon is a lot slower than the«normal» pace of any spa or salon I’ve visited. No regard for customers time. I am going to stick it out for the remaining 2 sessions I have with my Groupon and never come back.

Stay away! It’s just an awkward experience from the beginning. The owners are older and it’s hard to believe they have ever stepped foot in a tanning bed in their lives. They recommend you make an appointment for services so its ready for you when you arrive, but it isn’t. They clean the beds as needed instead of after each customer so there’s always a wait, even when no one is there. Plus, they over charge for the monthly packages by double and when you try to cancel your membership look out. Bill makes it near impossible to cancel. You have to make an appointment with his wife Joanie and cancel in person. A giant headache.

This place drives me nuts some times because of the pace at which the owners work. I go here on occasion because it’s just around the corner from my house, it’s clean and they keep late hours which is great for someone who works long days Monday through Friday. Bill and Joanie(the owner/operators) are super nice and helpful, but they are sooooooo slooooooooow. For example, I was just on hold for more than five minutes so they could check to see if I had any credits left. Then, they got back on the phone to tell me that they’ll have to call me back in a few minutes – I still haven’t heard back from them. I know this is their small business and it’s just the two of them running the show, but they need to figure out a way to be more efficient.

The services aren’t worth the money. The owners are condescening and misleading. They waste your time lying to you about their products and Bill is extrememely rude when you disagree with him and don’t want to sign the monthly contract. Horrible experience.

The salon is nice and clean, but just way too much hassle. The worst experience I had in something that should be actually be pleasant. Bill uses misleading business practices to get you signed up by not explaining the contract clearly… And then you can never get out of this contract — not even after it’s finished. To freeze membership is a HUGE deal. He will make you come in and sign the papers — while other salons take a scanned copy sent via email or fax copy. Then he’ll be wasting your time asking why do you need to freeze it and will try to not let you freeze it for the whole month, but rather for a couple of weeks — complete BS!!! He lies and blames everything on the«CORPORATE» even though each salon is privately owned and owners can and do make their own decisions. DONOTGET A CONTRACTTHERE!!! If the location is convenient — just sign up in another saloon and use this location. Most of places won’t waste your time bugging you with why you need to freeze and will actually let you to cancel if needed.

How about getting a great tan, without having to spend the time, or soaking up the dangerous rays for that matter outside? I have been to a few Planet Beach’s but I feel this location is the most comfortable and warming. What I mean, is that the staff, Joni and Bill are by far the nicest, and down to earth people I have met. They take care of you the second you walk in, and put together a package that is customized just for you. Whether it is price you are worried about or the type of tan you will get, they will recommend the perfect and safe plan for you. Their selection of tanning beds and lotions are outstanding! Joni and Bill’s pro activeness in the local community puts them out in front of the rest.
