Cozy little bar in the Milk District serving up beer & wine. They open a tad later so don’t try to stop by after a hard day at work. The interior is long and narrow much like the other bars and shops in this strip. The bar is situated in the back with a few tables in the middle and a small stage by the street entrance. There is also a back alley entrance that is usually open to. Cool bartenders and decent peeps hanging around. Some nights there is music or something on the small stage. Stop by and see! Prices are average. If you get hungry you can order a burger or hot dog that they will grill outside.

Great place for underground music! Great beer, great sound, and great staff! Right in the Milk District, it has that family vibe and a great alternative to the downtown scene.

Let’s face it, an adult with good taste in music has limited choices in Orlando beyond the superfluous amounts of collegiate liquor troughs that grace the downtown area. After you’ve grown tired of the drunken sidewalk shenanigans there’s really only one place left to go, Sandwich Bar!!! I really like this place a lot. It represents all that Orlando once was and is becoming once again. It’s an intimate, albeit small place with an enormous sound system, old school vibe, and a well mixed crowd of all ages, shapes and sizes. They specifically won my heart with the $ 2.00 sake shots and $ 3.00PBR. I felt like I was back in Brooklyn! I also appreciated being able to stroll out back and hangout in the parking lot to get some air and shoot the shit with me mates. All is well in Sandwich Bar world… Need a place to party? This could be your spot. This is where you come to lose yourself in the music and then head to an after party…

Very Friendly Service! A must visit during Tasty Tuesdays! They don’t serve food, but they are a nice little bar here. A nice little watering hole here in the milk district.

They should call this place the Sandwichless Bar since there are no longer any sandwiches. Any time I have been here the bartenders have been super cool and they have Brooklyn or Fat Tire. You might want to skip Thursday night though since that’s when all the scooter people show up with their hot topic skeleton gloves and pretend to be bikers. This is somehow«retro» It’s just the typical Orlando trying to be cool but notsomuch. Then again it;s good for laugh so there’s that. Any other night, diverse crowd and cool tunes.

Went here for the first«Tasty Tuesday» Brunch in the Milk District. For $ 5 you can get a variety of mimosa flavors. Really love the Peach/Pear mimosa. The place is small, but not over crowded, and on a sunny, breezy, day with the front and back doors open, it’s completely chill!

I’ve only been here once but overall we liked it. My husband enjoyed that they had quality ingredients like Boars head meats, and I throughly enjoyed that they had a vegan section on the menu! The bruschetta is delicious! I had the Big Hass sandwich which was very yummy! I look forward to going back soon to try their tempeh tacos and their juice bar! Also… do not be confused this isn’t a sandwich bar, like where you make your own sandwiches its a little bar that serves sandwiches. LOL. Its pretty cool though. Its a tiny little spot located in the«milk district,» its clean and modern. Their slogan is «where herbivore and carnivore can dine together and not eat each other.» Which I love. Its an awesome concept. Its still pretty new I believe they opened in January but its a lovely addition to our lovely city.

Another great place to have some craft beers and enjoy a quasi-vegetarian menu. Loved it. Victoria knew the menu well and the salmon sandwich with pesto was fantastic. The service was fast and the conversation was great, much better than larger restaurants where you are struggling to hear each other. Parking was hard to figure out, but I’m a Virginia transplant, so maybe the locals already knew where to park. :)

One of the few places in Orlando that doesn’t feel like it’s just tacking on items to make other-vores feel less unwelcome. The menu has about 8 or so meat based selections and about four or five selections each for vegetarians and even vegans. This place is tiny. There are 3 tables for two inside and 1 table for four. One last table for two outside. Don’t bother coming here with a group. The décor is sparse, but pleasant enough. Corkboard lined walls with flyers and beer coasters that have been drawn/painted on. Above those are a few paintings. No idea if they’re for sale, but I didn’t see any prices. The waitress was really nice and service was lightning quick — but we were the only actual customers. A couple of her friends came in to get some chips and use the restroom while we ate. We ordered the Spicy Tempeh Tacos and the Paul Reuben. Overall, we were both very happy with our food. The tacos were nicely sized and full of good, fresh looking veggies and of course, tempeh. My wife really liked the flavor. Her only complaint was that the corn tortillas were too thin and tore too easily — suggesting that they double up the tortillas. The Paul Reuben is pretty much a standard classic reuben — made with Boars Head meats. It was delicious, but it was also without a doubt — the smallest reuben I’ve ever had. It was large enough to fill me, but I wasn’t super hungry either. Really, both items were probably a little closer to lunch portions than dinner. Both items came with carrot sticks as sides. The carrots were crisp, crunchy and fresh — but it seemed really weird that no optional dips were mentioned. I’m generally ok with carrot sticks by themselves, but not everyone is. The one thing that struck me as the oddest is that they had no ice for our waters. How does a restaurant not have ANY ice? I’m pretty sure my wife liked the place more than I did, but I’d be happy to try them again.

Alright, there’s no Canadians listening, right… right, well We’re all American’s here. Which of us would be bold enough to proclaim that we do not enjoy a sandwich?! I thought so. Sandwich bar’s got a bunch of bread, a ton of quality deli meats, and what I remember to be tasty potato chips. There’s no need to get all snooty, and worry about the service, because if you wanted something really quick you could go to Wendy’s(given«Wendy» isn’t your Grandmother’s name– then well, you’d be there forever). There’s really nothing wrong with the service, but the way this place is set up, you’d imagine to be in and out without so much as staring at anyone’s shoes for more than 6 seconds. They take their time here, and why shouldn’t they? These are fresh sandwiches. Take that time where you’d normally be checking your phone to see where your girlfriend checked-in, to talk to one of the few people inside, and really enjoy the place, it’s about meeting people here, and having an intellectual conversation about the town. I’d go with anything turkey, or the Reuben. Boom.

I may go back again… maybe. At least to order a Healthy Butt to go. Love the cork and dark wood walls. The location is about the size of a bedroom and can accommodate probably 10 people inside. You seat yourself when you walk in this establishment. The waitress was very kind and sweet. I ordered some hot tea. Nope– no hot tea. I asked for hot water and lemon. Nope– none of that kind of stuff is served here either. The waitress did offer some of her tea she had in the back from another location. We decided to stick with some tap water. It came out warm with no ice. We asked for ice– nope… no ice there either. As for the sandwiches, we ordered the Healthy Butt, Alaskan and Greek Gobbler. All were delicious except the Alaskan– not too much flavor. Just the basic lox, lettuce and some pesto. Jacob O. was not very fond of the brioche bread. The Healthy Butt and Greek Gobbler– AMAZING… especially with the multigrain bread. The jalapeño hummus on the Greek Gobbler had a bit of a kick to it… and as for the Healthy Butt– what beats peanut butter, bananas and strawberries? Overall the price paid for the sandwiches and the quality was well worth the try. I am disappointed we had to go down the street to Pom Pom’s after for some tea. I hope they get the hot water option on their menu soon! :)

Ok… so I need to admit I’ve tooted the horn to various people about Sandwich Bar on Facebook. So yes, I am a fan. The two times I’ve gone its on a weekday because the weekends are for suckers.(Not really, but its not usually crazy busy on the weekdays) It’s a small location(like the last review mentioned, 5 tables and some bar stools) and sound travels in there if the door is closed. Personally there’s something about it that reminds me of when I lived in Brooklyn. Our waitress/bar wench was Katie as well I think, who was very interactive and remembered us the second time we went. As for food, we’re trying to go back and try every item, i’ve done the Nova Scotia and the PB&J. Both awesome, but something about that Nova Scotia lingered and made me wish I ordered two. Maybe it’s the onion roll or the fresh tasting salmon, or maybe the cream cheese. Who knows. I just love that sandwich and would bask in it’s awesomeness and proudly reek of onion breath. As for the beer, its a good selection and adequate for being such a small size. As stated before, Milk district has some amusing parking, but there is street parking available and the lot behind the building.

We didn’t have a very good experience. We went on a weekend afternoon. There wasn’t any a/c, so it was pretty warm inside, so we sat outside. The gentleman behind the counter seemed a bit out of it and asked me what my order was about four different times. I made my own sandwich with mozz, bacon, and pesto on wheat. It was really dry, kind of small, and a little pricey. The people that came with me both ordered the Little Piggy, I think it was called. It was supposed to have french bread, but both of them came out with wheat. We weren’t drinking booze, so I can’t comment on the beers. But, I just felt the sandwiches were bland and there wasn’t a great deal of selection. When I heard the name«Sandwich Bar» I was thinking of a lot of different choices. It should be named Bar with some sandwiches. Also, for two people, two sandwiches, a bottled water, and a can of sprite, plus tip was $ 28. Happy to see a new place pop up in town and hopefully this was just a first time visit blunder.

For me the Sandwich Bar was a hit, perhaps it was the perfect warm Sat or I was just in a good mood but I loved it there. First, the place is tiny about 5 tables inside and they put 3 tables outside. You walk in to a very industrial looking bar and a hipster ambiance/staff. This was sort of off putting for me but I was in a good mood and I’m guessing they were too because everyone was welcoming and friendly. Our waitress ‘Katie’(if I remember correctly) was very bubbly and adorable. Their menu is delightfully separated into Vegan, Vegetarian, and Carnivore sections and they have a good beer selection. I think my meal there would have been perfect had Brian Feldman NOT come to sit outside as well but that is a different story. NOTE: Parking in this part of the milk district is «fun», you want to turn in to the small driveway right before or after the Sandwich Bar otherwise you’ll be turning around for another attempt at it.

Great Beer! Love the Milk District and their fine selections of Beer! This is only a review of the bar atmosphere. While the sandwiches looked tempting,… we had already eaten dinner. Great beer loved the environment, which I agree with others that it is cozy and quaint. Got to meet the other reviewer and employee Tabitha who was our bartendress that evening! She was knowledgeable about the beer and helped us make great choices. We will be back!!!

The inside is clean and fresh. Nice and cozy. They have a small selection of beers, one being Cigar City Maduro brown. Hooray for that. The food, I was not impressed with. I had the Paul Reuben(I think), the more normal reuben with no hummus or anything. It didn’t taste bad by any means, but I left hungry. :( There was hardly any meat or kraut, mostly bread which was nicely toasted, and I was given a sprinkling of crisps. I didn’t feel good about paying $ 7 for a skimpy sandwich. I left feeling like I should have gone to Toojays or that Jason’s place.

There are quite a few places to grab a sandwich in the Milk District, this one though… I think I like it the best. Ambiance — Modern and comfortable. A small joint certainly but they manage to make the place feel spacious. I dig that as you walk to the bathroom, you walk next to the kitchen. Anyplace that allows you to see them making your food gets a thumbs up from me. Also, some old school metal was playing while I was there. I loved having lunch listening to Ozzy, AC/DC, and Metallica. People — Super cool, very friendly. The FOOD: Man, yeah. I had the Rick Reuben which at first I was tentative to try. Pastrami, sauerkraut, jalapeño hummus, horseradish cheddar and a spicy agave nectar on rye. The waitress told me they mix agave nectar with siracha which sealed the deal as a must try for me. Holy awesomeness! This was an amazing sammy. A true blue-ribbon winner! The spice went well with the subtle sweetness of the agave and the sourness of the sauerkraut, the hummus acted like a condiment(think instead of mayo) and the portion of meat to bread to cheese was spot on. I loved this sandwich so much, I didn’t even miss that there was no pickle. That is sayin’ somethin’. Something good! Go check it out!

Just got back(seriously, like 2 minutes ago) from my first visit to the Sandwich Bar and wanted to review it while the experience was still 100% fresh in my mind. As Mike L. said, this is an instant favorite and fits in perfectly in the strip of businesses(The Milk Bar, Covert Skate Shop, Etoile Boutique) adjacent to it. I met only one employee, Matt, who was very personable and polite. There should be something here for just about everyone. The sandwiches are in 3 different categories: vegan, broiled herbivore and broiled carnivore. There also are a few appetizers from which to choose, as well as maybe 3 or 4 salads. I opted for the Big Hass(a vegan sandwich; $ 6), which consists of avocado, tomato, mixed greens, sweet peppers, red onions, cucumber and jalapeño-flavored hummus on your choice of bread(Matt asked if I wanted Italian or wheat; I chose wheat). As Mike L. also pointed out, the bread is great and, to me, the best part of the sandwich. Mine was lightly toasted and crunchy, which I wasn’t expecting … but of course welcomed. Instead of fries/“standard” potato chips, my sandwich was accompanied by Sun Chips, another pleasant & welcomed surprise.(Though maybe it’s only the vegan sandwiches that are served with Sun Chips; as you can see in the pictures on here, regular potato chips also are available.) You have a choice of a few different sodas and beers here, too. I had a Sea Dog Blueberry Ale($ 3.50), which went well with my sandwich.(FYI: Not sure if this is the case with all the sandwiches, but the one I had was about 6″. Just wanted to note that I’m not sure anyone should expect a footlong sandwich, like what you can get at Publix, Subway, etc.) Matt had a wine cork behind the counter, so perhaps at least a few different wines also are available. A few of the broiled herbivore sandwiches sounded really good, so I’m sure I’ll be making at least a few more visits in the near future. Among the broiled carnivore sandwiches were maybe 2 different types of Reubens, a turkey sandwich and a sandwich with salmon. From what I remember, most of the sandwiches, regardless of category, were in the $ 6-$ 7 range. A vegan guacamole appetizer, which I may be trying next time, also is $ 6. As far as I can tell, the Sandwich Bar opened on Tuesday, 1÷25÷11 … so it’s still a work in progress, though things appear to be coming along quickly, and word is definitely getting around. There were maybe 5 or 6 other people in there today as I ate. Debit/credit cards are accepted. As I mentioned, this really fits in well with the other businesses in the same strip — you could really have a nice Saturday/Sunday by riding your bike/walking over here(if you live close enough), grabbing a sandwich, shopping at Etoile and then having a drink at The Milk Bar. Maybe I’ll even try doing that myself. Look up the Sandwich Bar on Facebook for more details/updates.(As far as I know, it doesn’t have its own website … yet.) It took me a few minutes to find a parking space, though ultimately I decided to just park in the private lot behind the establishment. Hopefully this was okay … Highly recommended!
