My S.O. and I came here for a weekend brunch after being turned away at a very busy breakfast spot downtown. We wanted to sit outside and immediately thought of Spice’s lakeside patio seating, so we headed over. It wasn’t a long wait before we had a seat overlooking Lake Eola. Our waitress was very sweet and brought food and drinks somewhat quickly. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my boyfriend ordered a mimosa(which happened to exceed our expectations). We both had the eggs Benedict. While the breakfast wasn’t earth-shattering, it was good and filled us up. If you haven’t been here, go at least once to have a drink and take advantage of the patio overlooking Lake Eola. The food is just sort of there to keep you occupied.

This is the third time I have been to spice. I like the location, and the first two times everything was good. However, this time was extremely bad. A friend ordered the onion rings which were really good. That was the only thing that was good. My girlfriend and I started with the bacon wrapped shrimp. They were completely burnt on one side. Making them rather unenjoyable. Then we each order a burger, hers was well done and mine was medium. My burger ended up well done and the other way over cooked. The service was mediocre, for the eighty dollars it cost to eat. But at least we got complementary parking.

I need to echo some of the review. My family had dinner at Spice on Mothers Day. When we arrived the host did not greet us or really even acknowledge that we were standing there. The wait staff was pretty much absent during our meal. The restaurant was maybe 40% full so I do not think they could have been very busy. Two members of my party had the chicken piccata. The orzo was over cooked and the broccoli undercooked. Another member had the lobster ravioli and it was cold inside. The desserts were good when they arrived 2 ½ hours after we got to the restaurant. The restrooms were not clean. The trash was overflowing with paper towels. If you are downtown and want a good steak I would suggest Kres Steakhouse. If you’re looking for Sushi Amura is not too far away. You probably would do better at Bento too.

Great atmosphere. We sat on the patio with a view of Lake Eola! Service was good, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. the bruschetta was ok, I wouldn’t recommend it. Our steak was very tasty! I’d go back– but to try the sushi!

Came here on a Saturday. Drinks were strong and cheap which is great for a weekend. Beautiful outside seating area. The staff were patient and considerate since there were a lot of drunk people who were being disruptive. Only three stars because this place lacks character. Next time, I’d like to try their food… Maybe it’ll be 5 stars. We will see.

We’ve been there several times for Happy Hour and they do a great job. House wine is discounted($ 4 or $ 5, I can’t remember.) and very drinkable. All but one Maki roll is $ 5 as well as 2 flatbreads. Sushi is very fresh. Service is prompt and courteous. Nice patio seating with fantastic views of Lake Eola. One of the best deals on the lake.

Underwhelming to say the least. The location is really the only thing they have going for them. The service is meh, the food is meh… My experiences there have always been meh. The menu is pretty average and standard, which isn’t a bad thing at all, but none of the dishes I’ve tried left any kind of positive impression. For the price you’re paying, I would expect something a little more… tasty? I’ve had the burger a couple of times from here and it’s been disappointing every time. It’s been either too dry and tasted like the meat was slightly freezer burned. The sushi was fine, but if you’re in the area, I would just suggest going to Shakai instead. Their lobster bisque has been the only thing that I’ve found myself enjoying from there and even then it’s just OK at best. I would recommend just skipping them, there’s a ton of other places around Downtown that provide better service and tastier food.

Food quality and atmosphere decent. Service very good. I had the ribeye, but there is sushi as well, ought to give that a try next time.

I’mma let my chick tell ya… Go ahead ma: I tried to take my man out to a nice lunch on the lake to enjoy the beautiful weather, but this meal was a bit disappointing. I’ve been to Spice before a couple of times, but it’s been about year or so since I was last there. Something has changed in this past year! Not nearly as good as I remember. First off, the table we were sat at was dirty, possibly with some animal’s excrement. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Drinks were fine, but the water tasted like it came straight from the lake! We started off with the onion ring appetizer which was pretty good! Could have used a tad more seasoning in the batter, but otherwise they were fine. He had the jumbo shrimp with fries and coleslaw. The only complaint he had was the sauce for the shrimp, but this may just be personal taste. They did not have an alternative sauce, but he still enjoyed his meal. My meal on the other hand was blah! Turkey, bacon, avocado burger with a house salad. Whoever was prepping food in the kitchen was slacking! My salad was a mess, but tasted ok. Had a pretty big black spot on my avocado and peel on my onion!!! And the burger overall was mediocre. Needless to say I was disappointed and we will not be returning.

I love this place, this is my third time coming here. Tonight I ordered the salon dinner with the loaded baked potato. It was delicious, I also got the cucumber lemonade that’s made with cucumber vodka. This place is pricey, but a good place to splurge.

Second time here. and the food is good, the mimosas are delicious(who can mess up such an easy drink, right?) First time I went here, ordered their lamb burger with plain fries and it was good! Soft meat, bread was soft but tasty, oh yes, I like it.($ 15) We sat outside in the beautiful weather of today and got to really enjoy their patio. Today I ordered a doubled pineapple mimosa which went down super smooth($ 7) and instead of doing brunch I got the avocado turkey burger($ 12) with cajun fries. The fries were spiced up wonderfully! They had a good crunch and it wasn’t a huge batch which eventually don’t get eaten. The burger, however, was a bit. off? The meat was tough, well seasoned but whenever I bit into it there was this weird sensation when meat have been frozen too long and just is rough. I’ve eaten enough turkey burgers from other places and made my own to know the differences.

Thoroughly decent. Those are the words I would use to describe Spice. The restaurant has no real stand outs. The food isn’t bad. I’ve dined here several times and I’ve never had a terrible meal. But I’ve also never had anything at Spice that made me say«wow.» Very run-of-the-mill average. I’m not saying you shouldn’t go to Spice. It’s a valid option when you’re in the area looking for a dining venue. Especially if you have a party with a wide variety of food preferences(Spice has a good mix of food types). But don’t go expecting to be wowed.

They have a pretty decent sushi happy hour on weekdays. We tried an eel roll and it was good. I’m not sure if I would return. They have happy hour on Saturdays which is what lured me and my boyfriend in.

Nice place to grab a bite to eat, either inside, or on the back patio overlooking the water. I was in town and a coworker and I decided to give this place a try. We started with the Calamari, which was better than average, with a nice tangy sauce accompanying it. For the main course, I had the Rib Eye, which was prepared to a nice medium rare along with some nice fingerling potatoes. The main course was quite tasty. Overall, the place had a nice atmosphere, the food was good, but the service did not meet the price point. While our server was friendly, there were delays in bringing out drinks, and stopping in to see if we needed a refill. Overall his attitude and the way he carried himself was geared more towards an Applebee’s.

A couple coworkers were in town so we picked Spice cause it was close to where they were staying. We didn’t have any resevations so it took some time to get seated. We grabbed drinks at the bar, but standing in that area was very warm. They had the doors open to the patios so it almost felt like we were outside which we were avoiding. We sat in the private dining area so that a plus because they had the a.c. on high in there. Waking in and out of that room you can tell the difference in temp. The food was decent. We ordered the edamame, calamari and onion rings to start. We most of us had the steak special which was the filet wrapped in bacon and topped with shrimp. The cook on my steak was good.

We headed out to Spice for a colleagues birthday. It’s conveniently located from our office so you would think it would be ideal for an office lunch. Quite the opposite! Our reservation was at 11:45 but the service was incredibly slow and we didn’t end up leaving until 1:20 pm. I ordered the lamb burger with sweet potato fries. The lamb seemed a bit on the greasy side. I also thought it strange that the server didn’t ask me how I wanted my lamb burger cooked but it had a bit of pink in it so it wasn’t over cooked. Overall, a decent sandwich but not for the $ 15 price tag. As for the service, our waiter was a bit slow. Part of our table received drinks while the others had to ask for their waters. Some of us got napkins and utensils while some had to ask. Not impressive for an upscale steakhouse. Looking back, I didn’t see many business people. Mostly couples or ladies meeting up for a girls lunch. It definitely was not buzzing like some of the other hot lunch spots. Between the slow service, average food, and the price I wouldn’t head back. The redeeming quality is the back deck overlooking Lake Eola. With the weather cooling off, it would make an ideal place to sit and people watch… if you had the time that is.

Place has a casual yet trendy chill vibe. The drinks are decent and they have a good brunch and Bloody Mary bar. Steaks aren’t spiced like they used to be which is a bummer. Decent sushi too but it’s the view that’s awesome. Sit outside in the back and enjoy the view of beautiful lake Eola!

Wow. This place is terrible. Terrible food… every more terrible is the service. I swear this place just try to bank of the fact that their right on the lake, therefore their food and service suffer greatly. I never write bad reviews, you can see… but wow wow wow. I am just even appalled that this place is still running. You can tell that the only people that stubble upon this place are tourists… like myself, because my friends who live in Orlando were so shocked when they heard we went there to eat the other night. The worst part is the wait time. 10 min to get seated. without menus. Then the server brings the menus, then 15 min later asks us for drinks, then another 15 min goes by and he serves the drinks and asks us what you want to eat. He takes our order and then 45min goes by. We didn’t get a lick of food until 1 ½ hours later. We ate quickly and then asked for the bill. but we seriously couldn’t find our waiter. I mean, we got up and had to search the damn restaurant for him… nowhere to be found. 20min goes by and then another 10min… where the hell was he? Take my advice or the advice of the 100 other people here with negative reviews. THISPLACESUCKS. Don’t waste your money here. Sure the view is nice… but it’s not worth the frustration.

3 Stars for a good meal with a few hiccups in an ideal location. I got a chance to try Spice at a bachelorette dinner the other night. We were a large group and had made reservations so we had a long table in the center of the dining room(though it took a while before they were ready to seat us). The ambiance was nice and I saw a ton of people sitting outside by the lake. Mostly the crowd seemed to be couples on dates and some if the late happy hour crowd at the bar. To start we ordered some champagne. Since so many of us ordered the same drink our server let us know it would make more sense to buy the bottle. I appreciate how seamless the process was in splitting the bottles amongst those of us who drank the champagne and our server kept returning to make sure we all had drinks. I started with the Gyoza steamed dumpling. They were good enough and the sauce was awesome, but there was one odd snafu. One of the dumplings was served completely empty– which was very noticeable as there are only 6 dumplings in the app. Luckily our server went ahead and brought me a replacement dumpling. I went on to get the Beauty and the Beast Roll. This roll has tempura shrimp, krab, cucumber, cream cheese with tuna an deal on top. It was tasty and I liked the presentation. I don’t know if it was memorable enough for me to order again, but it definitely left me wanting to try more of their specialty rolls. One last thing to note was that two of the ladies in our group were pregnant so we asked about getting them some mock-tails. The server seemed pretty confused with the request and it get a bit awkward so they just ordered sodas. Overall the food was good and I dug the location.
