I love Stardust. always have a good time there, I find the atmosphere really relaxing and I always really enjoy the food and coffee and tea that I have there. My friends and I would go there a lot last year and it’s definitely a good first date spot or a good hangout place. I love bringing friends here to catch up and just hang out. The bar is typically crowded so if you came to drink, it may be hard to get a good seat. I love the photobooth but I know sometimes it is out of order. The décor is super eclectic and just quirky and fun. I typically always have a good time there and I can’t think of any time when I went that I didn’t like.

Coffee is good but it has a lot of competition with excellent coffee right down the road and lots of great bars nearby. I’ve only tried a couple things off the food menu and they were good. Service is really hit or miss and the grungey vibe is over the top grimy to me. They should at least clean the bathrooms… Would also love if they did something about the odd videos in the room on the left but I guess that’s part of their«thing». I will definitely go back because they have late hours which I like but it’s by no means a favorite.

If you can get over the service then this place isn’t that bad. It has a really cool atmosphere and hipster/trendy décor and I really like the idea of it. However, I’ve been here several times and I just can’t overlook the service. I’ve sat at the bar(the place was not busy at the time) for 10 minutes before we got a drink order placed. And it was only because I had to loudly call the bartender over. He kept popping in and out and walking around but not actually taking anyone’s order or making a drink. Another time I was ordering coffee and had the audacity to ask a few questions like what’s their most popular coffee and what do they personally recommend and the barista had such an apathetic attitude. No one was outright mean/rude but there’s a general feeling like you’re wasting their time and they’d prefer it if you would go away. That being said, they have really good coffee lol. Never tried the food.

Ahhh, Stardust… Stardust, Stardust, Stardust. I have such conflicting feelings about Stardust. This is a place where the coffee is great, the food is great, the atmosphere/aesthetic are EXACTLY what the coffee shop/hangout spot of my dreams looks like, yet… after knowing about Stardust for years, I can count on MAYBE two hands how many times I’ve actually stopped by. Why? The people. The staff here(save for the FEW, SMALL exceptions) are the most unapologetically apathetic, rather-be-dead, rag-tag group of people I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. Now, no: They are not rude. I want to make that clear. I’ve never experienced a RUDE employee(so, in that respect, they’re still a notch above the late Propagation), rather every time I’ve come here, the baristas, while again never outright rude, have no qualm giving you the feeling like you are the most basic, boring, and bland individual whose money and business is something they could not possibly even fathom caring less about. Something tells me if a patron were to suffer a stroke, the EMTs that would be called out would also have to check on the employees because of how hard they’d undoubtably roll their eyes the whole time. So, if you’re in the mood for some good Java and even better tater tots, Stardust is the perfect place stop by. Just make sure your appetite is large enough to also stomach the sour attitude of the employees.

My favorite place in Orlando to hangout, meet with friends or study. I love the laid back atmosphere and that there is lots of seating space. The tater tots are definitely worth ordering. Also sometimes they have locally brewed Kombucha on tap which is also my favorite.

Quirky and laid back hipster café. Good place to grab some coffee or a drink and catch up on work or a good book. You definitely get an interesting mix of patrons through the door; which makes for good people watching. Some parts of the café/lounge can use a bit of elbow grease. A little pine sol will go a long way.

This place is subpar at best. It’s cute at first glance but take a moment to look around… it’s completely filthy. The walls are covered in food and spilled drinks, and the floor has never really been cleaned. I walked in around 9:30 in the morning and the tables were still clearly dirty from the night before. Along with the eatery being gross, the décor is disgusting. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put dirty, soiled ballet shoes above a table shouldn’t be making decisions anymore. Past the yuck, I had a waffle and mocha. The mocha was slightly bitter yet drinkable but the waffle… it was super dense, dry on one side and gummy the other. I’ve heard good things per word of mouth about Stardust but it definitely doesn’t live up to the reputation.

I thoroughly enjoy going to the Monday Market and after, I enjoy having one of their specialty cocktails. This place has a creative atmosphere with an eclectic list of activities. Many people bring their laptops to work on homework, digital art or to work on their writing. It’s awesome that it’s a restaurant/bar/lounge all in one. There’s always something chill going on inside.

It’s a cute and quirky coffee shop. Eccentric and zingy decorations: Chinese lamps, paintings of cats, photo booth, even an autographed picture of Britney Spears hangs on the wall. The bartenders can whip up a great cocktail. It seems like they have increased the price of their liquor since my last visit but I’m still a fan. They have DVDs, books, board games, and free WiFi for your entertainment. Certainly, they have good coffee and food, as well.

if you’re in the area, this is a must go to spot. no pictures, videos, or catfish episode will ever do this place justice. it’s a truly unique place. being from central new york, there’s no places like this here so it makes it a little more special. the music is good, the vibe is nothing but positive, and the coffee is pretty A+. if i lived in florida, i’d probably spend a fair portion of my life here. i gave it four stars just simply due to the fact i think they could add more to their menu, food wise. also, not from personal experience but watching other people, it took quite a bit of time for them to get food out(simple things and it wasn’t busy at the time). other than that, i’m in love. edit: i read some other reviews and customer service was brought up in a couple. they’re right, the customer service from what i remember was not the greatest. however, you deal with the employees for less than five minutes, they for the most part just stay behind the counter and in the kitchen. they don’t seem to care too much about rushing to clean off tables when they’re not busy. after you order whatever you want, don’t let the customer service ruin the rest of your experience, because after that, you don’t deal with them.

I want to give it more stars… because of the atmosphere & options. but I can’t. Service — This is the reason why I can’t give it 5 stars. It’s not welcoming, or friendly. I know this place is laidback, but that doesn’t mean the employees should be. I’ll give it another try. Atmosphere — The décor is great! Books to read, dvds to rent & Wi-Fi. The seating is spaced out so you don’t feel like someone is watching you over the shoulder. Very seclusive. This is definitely a hipster spot. The coffee is strong but great. Not too overwhelming. Food is average. Overall, if the service matched the interior, this place would be superior.

Beautiful, beautiful place with an inviting ambiance, great coffee, good tasting food, some treats, a full bar and books for you to read. Would’ve given them 5 stars but the restroom is a mess and their bartender was easily distracted and took forever to even acknowledge us.

The two stars are for the coffee because it’s amazing, but other than that there’s nothing positive. I totally understand the hipster chill vibe, but you need employees who are a little more pleasant and actually care. There’s zero sense of urgency seeing as there was one guy in front of me(an employee friend) and I was still not waited on for almost 10 minutes. I really love the coffee but I probably won’t come back for a few months in hopes something changes.

I used to come here all the time. I now remember why I don’t. The lady behind the counter was very unfriendly. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there. Very fake and annoyed at things I asked for. You’re in customer service… I asked for coffee. Got it and it was burnt and tasted terrible. I asked to change it to tea because it was so bad and she was going to charge me extra for it. Then I asked about one of the sandwiches and she seemed like she was annoyed I was even asking questions. I got my food and it tasted pretty good.(That’s why there are 2 stars instead of one.) Once I was done the guy never came back to grab my stuff. I was at a small table too so it took up lots of room. He walked by multiple times to get other people’s empty plates and trashed but completely ignored me. I do really love this place but it’s hard to come back when the service and attitude of people is under par.

I’ve been here two times, each for attending the Grandma Party. Honestly, if I lived closer, I would be there all the time. Had an iced coffee(cream no sugar), and it was the total energy boaster I needed. Really good coffee. Also had a vegan sloppy joe which was also pretty good. Great crowd, cool books, and great coffee.

This place would be awesome if it wasn’t run by pretentious assholes who(in my experience) don’t actually know anything about coffee. This shop is a caricature of the apathetic hipster coffee shop trope. The coffee is worse than Starbucks. For the same vibe go to Austin’s. At least they’ve got decent single origin coffees.

I’ll admit right off the bat that I can be an insecure guy. With that out of the way, I just want to say that if you are a man who prefers to have a clean shaven face, prepare to feel really out of place when you visit Stardust. This place is a hipster haven and whenever I come here, I feel like I’m walking in on some secret club I wasn’t invited to. But there are positives. I love the idea of Stardust. It’s a coffee and tea shop where you can also purchase old paperbacks and rent obscure movies on dvd. That’s awesome! Every town needs more places where you can get old paperbacks and movies. And they also have a smallish menu of food. The sandwiches aren’t bad at all and they come with a side of salad which is fresh and has a yummy vinaigrette dressing. But the negatives, yeesh. Again, this place is filled with hipsters. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but, like me, I really feel out of place whenever I come here. Next, the service. The people who work here aren’t exactly rude, but I frequently get the impression that they’re not really trying hard enough. The cashiers are usually really slow and la-dee-da even when there’s a long line. And this might not be fair to pick on them for since the kitchen looks really small, but the food takes a pretty long time to come out. Stick to the coffee and tea if you plan on coming here during your lunch break. I hate writing negative reviews because I really want local businesses to thrive, and I feel like Unilocal is a great tool for that purpose. Like I said, I’m not against Stardust. I love the idea of it and the place has a really relaxed and comfortable atmosphere where you can come here and get do some work on your laptop for a few hours without being bothered. I just wish the service was a little quicker, and maybe I should wear a fake beard next time I go just to feel like I fit in.

The interior is pretty cool, but the coffee is mediocre and the service was horrible. My boyfriend and I had gone to check it out a couple of days ago after we had spotted it while driving by. We are new to the area and have slowly been checking places out. I ordered a latte. I generally don’t require sugar, but I had to use three raw packets followed by a pump of cane syrup in order to get it enjoyable. She started making my latte right after asking what I wanted, which caused her to walk away from the counter. When she returned with my latte, she asked if I needed anything else. My boyfriend asked for a cappuccino. She sighed and turned around to go back to the machine. Sorry to inconvenience you with a drink order??? We ended up trashing our drinks and going to Lineage at East End Market. Lineage coffee is easily the best coffee in town.

So I haven’t been here in over a year and wanted to do an updated review. The first review I wrote, I gave this place 4 stars but after yesterday was a different story. I was there to study and needed something to wake me up so one of the worker suggested cold brew coffee which really did the trick. I was falling asleep before it but I was alert after drinking it. I also usually order tater tots here and aware that it takes 20 minutes for it to be done and I’m fine with that. I was wrapped up into my studies and didn’t pay attention to the time but after checking the clock it had pass 43 minutes… That’s double the time it was suppose to be ready. I never had this problem before when I used to come here. I went to the front and asked them that I had been waiting for my tots for nearly 45 min. To took awhile for someone to notice me and when she checked with the cook, it had been ready the whole time and was never taken out. Then after looking at Unilocal to see if anything similar happened to them I noticed that another person reviewed that if you weren’t a «hipster» you would be looked down upon by the art major and yesterday I noticed it. I was sitting at the tables studying, and I just felt like I was being judged. I would only come back for that cold brew coffee since it REALLY keeps me awake.

Tea, coffee, beer, sangria, whatever; if you want it, stardust has it. My girlfriend brought me here after dinner and we enjoyed the trendy ambience of the shop and the drinks we ordered. The baristas were nice and helped us pick up a unique blend of tea. If you want a cool place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends, this is the place to go.

I want to like this place, I really-really do. I have gone back multiple times because I keep hoping that I will have a better experience. Why? Because Stardust has a cute vintage vibe, books, coffee, liquor and beer. That being said, the service at Stardust has been consistently terrible every time I have gone. Different bar tenders, same terrible service. My husband waited at the bar for 20 minutes while the bar tender chatted with a friend before letting him order, then it took her another 10 minutes to make 2 drinks! My friend waited equally as long for a CAN of beer. And they were NOT busy that night. Again, I WANT to be able to give this place a better rating, but service is a pretty big deal at a place that, well… serves things, and no one at Stardust seems to care very much about it.

Welcome to hipster paradise. I love this place — so why the two stars? Keep reading, here’s what this place does well: Atmosphere, free wifi, great regulars, a fantastic bottled beer/cider selection, and pretty decent coffee. The food offerings are pretty standard diner fare, but they’re not bad. I also love all the events they host — the farmer’s market, the slam poetry nights, amongst other things. This little place breathes vitality into the area it’s situated in. Because the staff is beyond apathetic, actively shows borderline disdain for customers, and the wait for service is terrible. I’ve been here now over 20 times, and every time I get slowly more used to how rude the majority of the female staff members are, and how they actually seem to embrace and enjoy coming off as apathetic. I get it, it’s the atmosphere — but when you hear people whispering in line about the crappy service, it shows.

This place is really cute. I typically Just come here to hang out and drink coffee and check out the causal book selection. The coffee is totally made with love, but a pretty competent barista. They do have a full liquor bar for a more low key evening(or day drinking respectively) where the prices are pretty par for the course.

Love this old hippy joint. They have a nice selection of craft beer, and cocktails. Their food looks good, too. This place has been around since the early 70s, an has morphed from a video rental joint into this funky combo of bookstore/restaurant/bar. The décor is all kitsch. The bartenders can be a bit slow, but they seem to be concentrating on making craft cocktails, so give them the benefit of the doubt. There are two rooms, and each is a little different. They have a stage, also, but I didn’t witness any performance. It would be perfect for live music. It seems most busy on Monday nights when the Audobon neigborhood craft market is in full swing. This is a super throwback place. Check it out.

Stardust is like a second home. Have been a loyal patron for about a decade. During this time I have experienced a very consistent experience: the best hangout in Orlando. Simply where Stardust excels and everything else is secondary. It is important to understand the differentiation. Allow me to elaborate. Pretty sure I spend more time at Stardust than the office. Primarily due to the sheer amount of work I do remotely from here. I love it. There is no better place in Orlando to straight up chill. The atmosphere is whimsical with neat lighting and colorful artwork throughout. It is also the text book definition of hipster(yet in a non-pretentious way). There is plenty of seating throughout with a fair amount of power outlets. Very comfortable environment. Over the years I have experienced a variety of new waitstaff. It is very apparent how much management cares and seemingly works hard to protect the culture of Stardust by retaining exceptional employees. The staff are personable and legitimately care about the happiness of their guests. Their food is pretty good for a relaxed meal. I frequently eat their salads and consistently am pleased. They have two full bars and a large selection of bottled beer. They typically have several beers on tap. Great selection overall for a group gathering. Bottomline: Stardust is phenomenal for solo work or long conversations with friends. It is the goto spot in Orlando for hanging out!

My wife found out about Stardust and this is now our third visit. The first time we came here I took pictures of the place and it has a cool factor. There are 3 different areas and then you can sit outside on the patio. The décor is a bit eclectic but in a cool way. You have art on the walls and different stuff hanging from the ceiling. The cool factor is definitely there. My wife has had a couple different wines and has had no complaints and has raved about her mixed drinks. I have only ever had the differing lattes and some hot and iced teas. Today was the first time I was hungry and I decided to try the Cuban sandwich and of the options I was offered, the chips and salsa and I settled for it but none of the sides offered really went with a Cuban sandwich. My plate arrived in a reasonable period of time but I was a bit disappointed. There was just a small container of salsa that was far from enough for the amount of chips on the plate. The Cuban looked nice and the presentation was good but that is where the compliments stop. The bread was not traditional sweet Cuban bread and there was no pulled pork on it. Instead of the pulled pork there were slices of what appeared to be pork roast. The flavor was ok but the meat itself was tough. I quickly ran out of salsa but when I tried to get more, the girl at the counter was busy and I gave up waiting for her after about 10 minutes. For coffee — 4.0 overall rating Hot tea — 5.0 overall rating Wine — 4.0 overall rating Mixed drinks — 5.0 overall rating Food — 3.0 overall rating Service — 3.5 overall rating Pros Atmosphere is a hit with me. Nice mix of people and a friendly staff from my shoes. Nice selection of coffee and tea to choose from. There is a full bar for those that want more than coffee or tea. Cons Service has been slow overall but you expect that in a coffee shop of this type. The food was OK but I would not come here just for a meal. Parking can be a bit tricky on the weekend since the lot is far from big enough. One thing is for sure, SOME of the people here have a real HATRED for the Unilocal community. My wife overheard a group of girls trash talking the Unilocaler sitting over in the corner. They went on and on about how much they hate the Unilocalers. One even said they need a Unilocaler for the Unilocalers. I have a message for those young ladies… THIS Unilocaler will eat, drink and be merry wherever I choose so suck it up buttercup!

Stardust, oh how I’ve missed you… Visiting from Dallas, Stardust is a MUST stop for me. It offers simple if that’s what you need. Simple as in a cup of coffee. Step up a notch if you want a hot plate of food… and step up some more if the bar suits your agenda for the evening. The décor of Stardust is a major draw for me. It’s fun, inviting, non-pretentious, and I feel relaxed every time I come in. The staff are friendly yet stay out of sight so I can enjoy my experience. The free WIFI clocks in at ~30 Mbps and I never had a connection drop. Stardust is ideal if you are only staying long enough to enjoy their amazing hot spiced chai tea or for hours working on a project. Seating is set with individual spots, group spots, and booth spots. This part is well thought out. They have live music ever so often or other events featuring local artists. Major like! Bottom Line: If you have not visited, put them on your goto list. I will return every time I’m in Orlando.

I have a love-dislike relationship with stardust. I love the eclectic décor. The artwork keeps me entertained. I dislike the indifference I get from the staff there. I get excited when I get an employee to crack a smile at me. I love their cocktails and pricing for their scotches. I dislike that one person will take an entire 4 top table as their personal workspace. If it was only a couple of people doing this it would be no problem but the other night there was 75% of the 4 top tables occupied by one person. My party of 4 was forced to sit on stage. Luckily there was no musical act that night or that would have been awkward. I love their food(for the most part). The brunch offerings are unique. Orba Zorba, Crispin Glover, tots, 5 Easy Pieces, and many more are good choices. I disliked the quesadilla and meatloaf sandwich I had recently. The quesadilla was flavorless. I am really baffled how they could screw up a tortilla and cheese. The meatloaf sandwich was not very appetizing. It sort of tasted like manwich. I am really hoping the last visit was just an off night for the food, That was truly the first time I have been disappointed with their food. One thing I will give them props for is that lately I have noticed the staff has gotten friendlier and friendlier. Not sure if it is because they remember us or if it is a culture change there. Trust me stardust, you will attract more flies with honey! Give us a smile and some consistently good food and we will return.

Looks like I have to re-write another disappearing review! This was for a visit a few months ago, and I can’t remember every little detail, so here’s the gist. A friend suggested we go to Stardust for dinner when I visited on a Sunday evening. The location is a lot bigger than expected, and has a really awesome artsy, sort of hipster vibe. There’s a lot to take in visually, and they even have a small stage for some kind of local shows(music I’m guessing, though I could see spoken word/readings too). I was really loving the décor, I’m not going to lie. Though, there’s one downside. The lighting was dim, especially in our little booth/table. What I didn’t like was someone allowing their kids to run allllll around the larger room(the one with the stage) like demon hellspawn. It was difficult to maintain a conversation with my friend and it made me hate sitting there. Sorry, but I’ve been in businesses where they asked parents to control monster children because it’s a liability. This isn’t exactly somewhere that’s kid-friendly, in my opinion. The service overall was pretty average. Considering it’s not really a waiter/waitress situation and they just bring your plates to your table after paying up front, I’m not too bothered by this. Now, the important things — the food. We shared some hummus. My friend liked it, but she’s easy to please. I thought it was pretty mediocre. It was heavy, grainy, and… Gloppy? I don’t know how to describe it but it’s token bad white people hummus. Moving on. I had a sandwich that wasn’t especially memorable, and had little in the way of actual filling. It was more bread than anything. It also came with a little puff of salad and dressing in a little plastic cup. Final verdict — if I lived in the area, I would hang out here for coffee and drinks. The food isn’t worth writing home over. The ambiance is cool, and hopefully the hellspawn were just a fluke that day.
