This place is OK… depending on the night, if the music is good, the crowd can be fun, and there is a food truck outside(at least when I’ve been there) for some late night bites… I was there for the Rich Medina show, the crowd was good, the place(as I mentioned) is OK(nothing really stands out, but the sound system is solid, and not too loud), Rich played a decent, but not great set(I can’t really hold that against SUbstance though). I would go back, but only when I know what DJ will be on. The music really makes or breaks the night at this place.

Went to the Lazy Evening Party w/DJ Rich Medina. I think I had the best time of my life. The beers were very reasonably priced, the service was friendly, and the sound system was phenomenal. Although it got warmer inside as the night progressed, it was almost fitting provided the awesome mix of ecclectic music that the DJs were playing. Either way, it’s nothing a couple fans can’t fix. Definitely a nice change of scenery if you’re looking to get away from the downtown crowd. Very hip. I look forward to attending many more great events at this location.

Went to the Lazy Afternoon event with Rich Medina and had a lot of fun. The spot is small and loungy and was filled with Orlando«cool kids». It was like running into the Neptunes and some unusual breakers. I like the unmainstreamness about it and the music was great. It got pretty hot pretty quick though from the dancing. I’d definitely go back for cool events like this one.

Went for the Lazy Afternoon party Sunday. Got there early and the place was nice and cool. Had a few drinks and enjoyed the DJs. Once the room started filling up things got warmer. Lot’s of ladies and gents getting down, probably the most fun I’ve had in a long time. The sound system sounded phenomenal and the Djs at this night played a great variety of soulful hip-hop, funk, house and more. The beer selection was great and the mixed drinks in-expensive. Can’t wait for the next Lazy Afternoon party.

Went to the 9÷4÷11 Lazy Sunday Evening with Rich Medina. Space was cool; a large front room with some art on the walls.(Not sure if they usually have more, but last night’s was minimal) Back room houses a small bar with a large range of bottled beers and some hard liquors. Prices for the beers seemed reasonable and I got a cider for $ 5. Although it was advertised as starting at 9, I was pretty much one of the only people there at 9:45, and it started picking up more towards 11. Moral of the story, maybe not your first stop of the night if you’re looking for a crowd! Speaking of the crowd, what a lot of fun they were… a good mix of people. Location was a bit tricky to find as a food truck was blocking the view from the street! SUbstance is located just across the street from the Central Florida Educator’s bank, the side away from Weber St.

Very cool new-ish art gallery/bar on Mills, located close to Wally’s, with a front room that generally has DJs spinning on the weekends and a bar area in the back. It’s a small place, but has a very nice vibe. Those who used to hang out at Crooked Bayou will probably recognize Matt, the owner, and Dan the Man behind the bar.
