Going with and earlier comment… Good people, good service, food all tastes the same. Not worth the money or the calories.

I lived in Winter Garden a few years ago, and the original Taquitos Jalisco there was our go-to place for real Mexican. It was also a source of pride, as it has long been considered Orlando’s best. My visit to the MetroWest TJ was my first outside of Winter Garden. My expectations were a little bit low, considering how some restaurants lose their luster when they branch out to new locations. Not to mention any names, but a certain bodacious chain of barbecue restaurants comes to mind. I can’t speak to the SOBT location, but MetroWest’s Taquitos is a winner. Bigger and prettier don’t always make for a better restaurant, but they had much better digs to work with than in WG(with all due respect). If you can find the place, you’ll find that it’s quite spacious and well-appointed. My friendly server greeted and seated me, and after reading over the large menu, I chose«Puntas al Albanil,» beef tips, onions, poblano peppers, green tomatillo sauce, refried beans, guacamole and flour tortillas. But as I was looking at the menu, I spotted BEEFTONGUETACOS! Since I’ve been wanting to try beef tongue, and even started a Unilocal thread about it, I couldn’t resist, so I ordered one, dug in and found it delicious — much like mom’s Sunday roast beef. So on the second day of the new year, I tried something I’ve never tried before and liked it. I’m not usually a dessert eater, but I wasn’t quite ready to leave, so I ordered flan with ice cream topping — aah! I don’t what kind of ice cream it was, but I can safely say it wasn’t Borden’s. So based on my experience, Taquitos Jalisco’s entry into the Orlando market is a very good thing. Next tongue adventure(seated at a table in a restaurant that is): an entire entrée!

I had high hopes for this place. I ordered a simple order of nachos. It’s listed on their menu as having«layered steak or chicken with cheese beans, jalapenos, guacamole, sour cream and pico de gallo.» What I actually received was a sorry excuse for nachos. In a styrofoam container there were about 4 chips(yep you read it correctly — 4CHIPS), steak, cheese and some red sauce. There were no layers unless you count the styrofoam and chips as two layers. Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and would not return. If they can get a simple order of nachos right I wouldn’t give the opportunity to ruin something else.

I used to go to this place all the time and the food and service was excellent. I no longer go because the last couple of times I went the food was awlful. The quality has really gone down hill which is too bad. Maybe they are cutting back on quality because of the economy, but all that does is lose customers who will never return. I am now looking for a new place to try and will give these other places a try that people have recommended.

Ten years ago my office staff and I used to drive to Taquitos Jalisco in Winter Garden because they had the best Mexican food in town. So we were delighted when a second location opened almost across the street from us. Taquitos Jalisco serves authentic Jaliscan style Mexican food. Everything on the menu is fresh and diverse. The highlight is the Pastor, and authentic spicy pork mixed with cilantro and onions, then stuffed into gorditas. An excellent way to experience all the flavors is to order the Plato Botanas. It’s listed as an appetizer sampler, but it makes a great meal, too. I’ve been going to Taquitos Jalisco at least once a week for the past five years, and(contrary to what a couple of other reviews here say) the food and service are consistently superb.

Amazingly good restaurant in an unassuming location– a strip mall in a nice neighborhood. Why is it that all good Mexican restaurants are in funky locations? This one is really top drawer. The food is excellent, but honestly? The SERVICE stands out. The people there are genuinely happy to see you. We never waited long for refills on beverages(Although I did have to ask for more Iced Tea). The portions are average size, but the taste seems to be significantly better. Is it the enchilada sauce? The spices on the Fajitas or Carne Asada? The way they make the Queso Fundido at your table? I think it’s all just incrementally better than anything you’ve had before. Nothing singular stands out as being amazing(well, until you order the Shrimp Fajitas– the Shrimp are so big, they could choke a horse), but everything seems just… better. Check my profile. I rarely give five stars. Taquitos Jalisco has earned it– and my repeat business, even though I have to drive 25 minutes to get to it! How could they improve? Outdoor seating, although they really don’t seem to have a place to have it. I’m always looking for restaurants that are dog– friendly, so it’s my own private soapbox– forgive me.

many visits have yielded the same results: good service; typical ambience; tasteless food. All the usual Tex/Mex favorites are on the menu but with none of the taste. This place once stood above the hordes of mediocre Tex/Mex restaurants in the area. Sadly, that is no longer true.

This little gem is tucked deep in the heart of MetroWest. Many may be familiar with the one in Winter Garden. This is great authentic Mexican food. No, seriously!(Trust me — I grew up in Dallas. I know Mexican and Tex-Mex.) It is on the side of a strip center and not the easiest to find. But once in, you find yourself in another world. The décor sets the tone for the meal to come. The areas of the restaurant are set apart as if you are walking into someone’s abode. You almost forget you are in Florida. Then there’s the food! The requisite chips and salsa arrive as you are seated. The made from scratch salsa is sweet and spicy, with just the right amount of cilantro. But be aware; you will be waiting a bit for drinks, so consume carefully. The entrees continue the fresh, flavorful feast. The chicken enchiladas or the three-taco platter are my go-to items on the menu. However, I know that many come here for the mole poblano.(Not a fan. Sorry!) And with the rice and beans, you get your money’s worth and then some. My only take away is the service. At best, it is inconsistent. My cure for this is getting a good server’s name, and ask for them every time you come back.(No, I won’t tell you my favorite server’s name!) And Mariachi bands! Usually there during peak times and really turn it into an experience instead of a meal out!
