I wish more bands that I like would come here. The location is great and after seeing the band, we hung out downtown. It’s actually a pretty darn good venue. We saw Shinedown here and it was spacious, organized and had clean restrooms. I’m sold! The bar had fairly priced drinks and we had a blast. Plus, the event was not expensive.

DONOTGOHERE. disgusting place. literally my second time going because the first time was not the best either but the second time put the icing on the cake. Came here for my boyfriends birthday and payed 900 $ for two VIP sections literally the entire time we had to constantly ask people to get out of sections. It caused many altercations. The staff was not doing there job. The whole point of purchasing VIP was to be able to relax and hang out with the group of people we came with. The whole night ended by our group getting thrown out after a group of girls attempted to start a fight with us over our section. I was man handled by one of the bouncers who had no respect for woman. The manager called my friend a «Bum Bitch» the place is trash. Never again.

One of the worst place I’ve ever been that staff working there were total Di%&$ they were very unfriendly non-profecional DONTGOOOTHERE… Rude personnel the music’s good but here in wallstreet I’ve listen to far way better, and the manager is a kid who doesn’t even know how to handle a business. Or treat costumers

You really need to have your staff understand that there is re-entry if you are searched again instead of flat out NO Re Entry. So that someone doesn’t miss a show they pre purchased a ticket for — and drove an hour and a half to see– because of what appears to be a draconian rule.

I came here last week. The entire experience was horrible. The security staff was rude. I waited forever for drinks. The music was dull and the crowd was to ghetto. Will never return

The stars are based on the venue, not the performance. I was here for a concert. Drinks we’re overpriced and not that good. I don’t know if that was the specific bartender or what the case was. However they sell $ 2 fireball shots across the street, spend the drink money there. The 2nd star on this review was earned because of the amazing way they handled the entrance. There were 2 lines to enter, both wrapped around the building. They expedited the line and wasn’t a hassle at all.

This nightclub is to ghetto for my taste + the cops are always parked out in front of this club, since fights break out on occasion.

Nice venue to check out up & coming bands. Ticket prices are on the lower side since they avoid using Ticketmaster. The 2 bars are positioned too close to the general admission /floor area which reduces the spots that offer a clear view of the stage. It also creates a bottleneck at the lobby entrance/exit area. Plenty of free street parking a couple blocks away(toward the Bank of America building). The Beacham & The Social(located next door) are the same franchise. They’re connected through a passageway located to the right of the Beacham stage should there be an event that utilizes both stages.

I don’t know why this place thought it could host artists like Jenny Lewis. I hope she never plays there again. The sound was awful. There is really nothing The Baeacham can do to make it better. Orlando is really lacking in quality music venues.

I have to update my review after going to the show on 04/17, Jarabe de Palo. This band is touring north America from Spain, they’re awesome, I saw them at House of Blues last year and they are amazing live. Anyway, the site said«doors open at 7pm, show starts at 8pm», I assumed the opener would start at 8pm, but just in case I got there early, at the door I asked what time the headliner was starting and was told they were starting in a few minutes and would only play for an hour, they needed to cut down the show to 9:15pm. Ridiculous! So the show started, kind of in a rush with the band playing about 3 – 4 songs non-stop. Then they apologized because the venue cut their set time to only an hour due to some other event afterwards. What in the hell??? These guys are in tour from Europe, and tickets were not cheap($ 35), and the venue cuts them to an hour??? They couldn’t even play an encore, they apologized profusely and told us they’d come back and make it up to their fans, probably at a different venue. Beacham, I tried to give you one shot after another, because for some reason you get the good acts to play at your crappy venue, but this is it! I am done.

It’s 4am — the hour of the wolf. Despondency churns within me as my gut twists in existential turmoil. I sit solemnly at my desk, bathed in the harsh glow of my monitor. I question my past, present, and future and find only darkness and dissatisfaction. But what is this? A new e-mail message. What awaits me? Yet another painful portend? Or my long awaited salvation? My heart skips a beat as I click into my inbox. It’s probably going to be spam. But maybe it’s a long disconnected lover reaching out to reunite. Or maybe I won a Facebook contest for a cool new pair of sunglasses. I click the e-mail. Do my eyes deceive me? No. It’s an Eventful alert: One of my favorite bands is coming to Orlando. A band that I never thought would trek our phallic-shaped state. Their journey will require escaping the mosquito-ridden trenches of The Panhandle, hiking over the daunting Invisible Mountains of Lake County, avoiding the alluring pull of the Raptor Jesus church, and averting the Curse of the Florida Man. Yes. One of my favorite bands(you’ve probably never heard of them) is coming. For reals. My heart fills with wonder and excitement. How long have I been waiting? Much has transpired in these endlessly numbered years. Wars have been waged. World leaders have perished. Advances in technology have grown exponentially keeping true to Moore’s law. Whataburger Orlando closed. It’s a brand new world out there. Tears welt up in the corners of my eyes. Everything in my life has been building up to this moment. A radiance fills inside me as I realize attending this show will bring me closer to self-actualization and true fulfillment. It will prevent me from falling into the abyss. It will make me whole. But then I catch a glance at some words in the invite: «The Beacham.» «On second thought, I’ll just stay home that night.» The Beacham’s acoustics make everything a washed out, garbled mess. This might be OK for a chillwave artist, but if you want to be able to tell the vocals apart from a snare hit, you’re out of luck. I imagine the size of the room makes it difficult to get a good sound, but I’ve been to bigger venues with a better sound so I know it has to be possible. A small pour of a mid-tier spirit is comparable in cost to getting a mixed drink at The Courtesy down the street that’s blended with amazing ingredients and takes something like 5 minutes to delicately handcraft. And somehow, 7 Eleven has a better beer selection than what The Beacham offers right now. Get your stuff together. This should be an easy fix. Look at Will’s Pub and imitate them, they have the drink situation together. Shows commonly start extremely early so they can quickly kick the artists out the door as the venue return to its true self: Tabu, the most basic/ratchet club imaginable. Yeah, Beacham, we know who you really are and where your loyalty is. Having attended shows here off-and-on for the last 5+ years and seeing little improvement, apparently it’s not fostering a great environment for live music. You’re cashing in on the easy overflow from artists too big for smaller venues when there aren’t many other options in town. There’s no incentive for you to improve or lower your prices when people have no choice. You’re worse than criminal: you’re the Bright House(or Comcast) of music venues. I get it. You gotta pay that rent and turn that profit. But I also gotta tell it like it is.

Let’s just say I’m not 22 so take that into consideration when. reading this review. My friends and I went to see St. Paul and the Broken Bones on a Thursday night. The romm is quite large, almost cavernous. A bar in the center of the room would be great for seating but it’s a standing bar. Unlike many similar venues which have seating at least at the bar. The sound was horrible, I’m no engineer but I’m assuming it’s the space and not the band which is really too bad. If your interested in hosting bands, you should invest in decent accustics. 8 bucks for a glass of crappy merlot. Meh. The band was awesome, the venue not so much.

The Beacham is where concerts go when HOB is full. Pray this doesn’t happen to you. If you are unfortunate enough to end up here show up early. If you aren’t there early you be will stuck in a long line that moves very slowly because somehow they still haven’t figured out how to get anyone in efficiently. The sound setup is skewed towards nightclub mode so most of the time vocals are ruined by the ultra heavy bass. The one redeeming quality: they blast their AC before an event so it stays relatively cool.

Fuck The Beacham. My main reason for saying this is that they claim to enforce a very strict dress code that, of all goddamn things, forbids shorts in Florida. Now, I don’t go to clubs, but I did want to see Phantogram, and it just so happened that I was doing a bike ride beforehand. So that proclaimation(not enforced, by the way), required a bunch of extra planning and pretty much required driving there. Also, «no dirty sneakers.» What the Christ is that supposed to mean? Fuck you! Another thing about the dress code(see it at ) is that it essentially says«no black people.» 25% of my anger is coming from the fact that this unenforced code seems to be racially biased — probably enforced under their«right» circumstances. Interesting that the dress code is such when a lot of their promo material shows half-naked black girls who look ready to get exploited and/or pregnant. So it’s not really The Beacham’s fault that there is racism and exploitation of women, but they are most certainly participating. As for the show, it was most certainly a good show. BTW I wouldn’t call this venue«small» by any means. Of course Beacham’s only credit in putting on a good show is that they booked a good band on its way up.

CKY was the first band I got to see in this building back when it was still called Tabu. That was February 19th, 2003. Back then it was strictly a dance club. There was giant screens in the back of the stage hovering above everything that showed the concert. Wish they would have kept that when it changed to the Beacham. That show had to end early so they could have their dance party. So everyone got kicked out shortly after the band stopped playing. Die Antword was the first concert I got to see here since the name change to the Beacham. That was on October 24, 2012. Sold out show with two lines to get in. Still took way too long since everyone had to be pat down and all purses/bags had to be checked. Doors opened at 8:00PM. By the time I got in at 8:30, the support was already playing. It was a DJ named Winston Wolfe. I can only guess he started at 8:00 since all he was doing was playing songs from iTunes. Winston Wolfe was onstage until 10:30PM. Two and a half hours of random dubstep just so the club could sell more drinks. It pisses me off to no end when places do that. The audience was already inside before 9:00 so having Die Antword come on at 9:30 would have made a lot more sense. It wasn’t until about 11:00 when they came out and played for a good hour. Making the show more than four hours for one performing group to play an hour. I was standing to the middle to the far left of the club and the sound was atrocious. The group is two rappers and a DJ. The mix was literally two microphones. It was so hard to hear them over the beats, I had to take my earplugs out just to be able to obtain a little of the vocals. Mindless Self Indulgence was the second time I visited the Beacham. That was on April 7, 2013. I was actually willing to pay the additional $ 15 on top of the ticket price to get balcony admission. Ticketmaster didn’t have any available, so I tried Park Ave CD’s and they didn’t have any either. Beacham’s website had and when I e-mailed them about it I got no response. I asked a few people at the club and they all told me I had to get them in advance. Peter Pepper was the opener. I’ve been listening to him since his first band Retard-O-Bot in 2000. So it’s always a pleasure watching him perform with whatever outfit he’s in. I was up front, one person behind the barricade to the far left. The sound was even worse now. The bass was just distorting everything. I knew all of the songs they played, so I basically forced myself to hear what they were playing from memory. Mindless Self Indulgence was a little better since they had their own sound guy, but not by much. I was standing in the same spot because I wanted to be able to see. If you’re more than ten people deep behind the barricade, you’re probably not going to be able to see since the floor is level all the way to the back of the venue. There really needs to be an elevated portion of the venue so people aren’t all crammed onto one giant floor. No re-entry is allowed, just like most of the bigger clubs like this one. It makes sense on a business stand point. Gets people buy what you’re selling and they have an ATM machine. But if you don’t drink alcohol or soda, you’re stuck with a five dollar water. Plus they don’t sell food, so if you’re hungry, you get to wait a good six hours before the show ends to go eat at the Subway across the street… if it’s still open. Some of the few positives are that the stage is really big. Plenty of of space for the more active bands to bounce around on and for the larger pieced bands to spread out. Lighting is set up very well. If you’re lucky enough to get on the balcony, it’ll never be too dark that you won’t be able to see. It is unfortunate that those two are the only good qualities I can point out.

I have only been here for three events. Nejame’s annual Christmas party, Orlando Weekly’s Best Of party and an 80’s pub crawl. I enjoyed myself at both events and the space was very large so it didn’t seem too overcrowded and was a good venue for each event. When I was there for the 80’s pub crawl I had a great time and the music they played was great, but… of course the crowd in there wasn’t the typical crowd that is there on regular nights. I’m not a huge fan of the Beachum to go there on a Friday or Saturday night, but do like it for events. I have also heard that it’s a good concert venue, which I have no experienced myself firsthand though. One thing I do have to say is that the stairs for the upper levels are not lit up very well and can be hard to see. I had a pretty embarrassing moment when I fell at Nejame’s Christmas party because I did not see the last step and missed it completely and landed right on my knees and had giant rug burns, bleeding and bruising on both knees which has left a scare on one of them. Luckily the Grinch was there to help. My birthday was two months after this event and my dear friends bought me a clip on flashlight as a joke(since yes, we were still making fun of that night two months ago) to bring out with me in the future for whenever we go somewhere with stairs. I was sure to watch out more carefully when I went for the Orlando Weekly party, and I’m happy to say that I did not fall.

I like smaller venues like this when you’re not packed in like sardines. Luckily, my first show here was on a Thursday night and was a Canadian indie band that thus far hasn’t quite become a household name in Florida. So while there was a solid turnout, it wasn’t uncomfortably packed. Here’s an important note that I learned the hard way: No cameras with interchangeable lenses. I had brought my DSLR into shows at the Social before, and checking the Beacham website, photography«may or may not» be allowed, so I decided to chance it. Apparently, photography with your phone or a little point & shoot may or may not be allowed, but bigger cameras are never allowed. I got stopped at the door. «No professional cameras!» The guy was nice about it at least. Okay, mine happens to be a «professional» camera, I can’t argue that. «But I’m not a professional!» That didn’t work. So I told my fiancée to go in without me and I’d be back. Having parked my ragtop Jeep in a small, dark alley, I imagined coming back to the top slashed open and the camera gone, so I had to move the Jeep somewhere more public with better light, hide the camera, and go back. The guy apologized again when I came back up, I told him no problem but I don’t like the ban on «professional cameras» because… well, define«professional camera». The girl that took my ticket said that it’s anything with an interchangeable lens. Okay, but you can get a basic DSLR for $ 600 and it’s far from a professional camera. Perhaps the wording should be «No SLR-type cameras» and it should also be on the website. Just saying. But I wasn’t angry, because they weren’t being mean about it. Anyway, the venue itself is good. Modern stage lighting, an awesome sound system, the works. It felt and looked a little dirty in there, but I don’t think it was. I imagine this place takes an awful lot of abuse from drunk fans. And even so, it still smells less obnoxious than the places on Church Street. A basic rum and coke here will cost you $ 5.75 and is served in a tiny cup. Way too expensive for what you get. All in all, it’s a good music venue. Other reviews have said that it’s also a club on the days where there’s no show. No thanks, not my style. But I would come back for the ticketed events.

The Beacham formally known as Tabu has a couple of renovations inside but overall still has the same venue structure. Just like every club in downtown every night here has a different special and music. They still have the same movie looking booth outside with the two building wrapping lines. They have Honey pot on Friday nights that are hosted by 102 jamz so they play mainly hip hop, reggae, and old school. I know it’s free for ladies that whole night but it gets very packed! Then Sunday they still kept the latin night that you pay once at the door and drink free all night. I love the music on this night because they mix up salsa, reggaeton, bachata but the drinks are straight up kool aid style on this night, straight. watered down. That is the only part that makes me confused as to why they do not tell you that it’s drink free juice all night instead. Lately there has been alot of shows at The Beacham than ever than before and Orlando needed this! Which I love love love since at this venue the new lighting system is amazing and the sound system plays at a really high quality. The stage is close to the fans so it makes shows feel more personal instead of being miles away. I went to the Atmosphere show and was completely blown away with the concert. Very looking forward to many future concerts at this venue. I can walk out of The Beacham smelling like a walking human cigarette from all the smoke but we still have a love/hate relationship because of this main reason. They have the capability to throw a memorable heart warming concert.

Last night, thanks to Culture Climax, I attended Atmosphere. Amazing show! Such a fabulous performer. I jumped the gun on this one. I guess I was upset more at the crowd of the last show I attended here instead of the venue. Last night the crowd was fabulous. I also stayed in the middle of the venue in between the two back bars and had a fabulous view and Jeff K is right, the acoustics are pretty awesome. However, the bass literally had my insides shaking… good thing I was into it! The chick at the back bar when you walk in to the left is super nice and always pours a nice one! Still wish they would clean the place up a bit! I think I am going to chill where I chilled last night for the other shows I attend here!
