Service was good, lots of smiles and happy workers. So that was nice. And hence giving this place the benefit of the doubt and a potential return trip in the future. It’s just… I had the Beef and Lamb Guinness Stew and I was so insanely disappointed. As in, I was surprised to see it in a bread bowl. But ok that’s cool. However, my stomach about gurgled and screamed once we found out how they only cut the first quarter of the bread bowl to fit about 4 pieces of beef(don’t know where the lamb was). Dang. What a buzzkill. I would have taken a picture but in about 4 bites I had, it was gone. Then across from me is my fiancé, about to dig into her safe fish and chips choice. But alas, she ended up with 7 small pieces of the chips and then heavily battered fish that when I tried a corner, my heart about gave in from all the grease. Basically, the portion control here is insane. For a $ 35+ meal I want to be full. However we must now go somewhere else to fill up. Tsk tsk. No magic here to fill me up. I would have given this place a 2.6. We’ll try this again another time, it’s a great location/atmosphere. Just try different food next time.

Food is average, but just like the rest of the park, it’s all about the experience. This place looks just like the movies, cauldron and all. There’s a counter where you place your order, they hand you your drinks and a candlestick with a number on it, and then you head into the great hall and pick your seat. They’ll bring you your order shortly afterwards. We ordered the fish and chips, mini pie combination, and beef, lamb, Guinness stew. Each entrée came with a side salad. If you don’t specify what dressing you want when you’re ordering, they’ll pick for you. The fish and chips was pretty standard — it’s a safe bet and comes with a lemon wedge and tartar sauce(and fries, of course). The combination pies consist of one cottage pie(beef) and one fisherman’s pie(salmon), both topped with mashed potatoes. If you get the combo of pies, they are much tinier than if you ordered the regular of one of them… They are definitely«mini» pies. I preferred the cottage pie over the fisherman’s pie, which tasted too fishy to me — although the cottage pie was greasier. My favorite was the beef, lamb, Guinness stew, which is served in a bread bowl. There is a high ratio of bread to stew, but the stew sure was tasty, and the meat was tender. Definitely a higher quality meal than your typical amusement park concessions, and worth checking out if you’re in the mood for pub food.

A theme park restaurant which is true to the character of the theme. The tables and chandeliers looked like they were straight out of Hogwarts. I had the Scotch Egg, which is a typical dish in the UK and it was quite good. The wait staff is plentiful and ready to help you find a seat and delivery your food. Able to get in and out of there quickly at lunchtime on a Saturday. Happy surpirse.

We had a very pleasant Sunday breakfast experience. Welcomed on the street by a friendly guy, we had a very short wait to order and pay. American Breakfast for Husband for $ 15.99. Child American Breakfast for me for $ 12.39. Coffee & Tea must have been included as there was no charge on the itemized receipt we got. Which made the price of the meals a bit more reasonable. We sat at a four-top and watched Daughter-In-Law taste her first Butterbeer… entertaining! It didn’t take long before our meals arrived. Warm and well-prepared. My child’s meal didn’t look a whole lot smaller than the Adult one. It was just right for me. While we enjoyed our simple, yet tasty meals, we were checked on multiple times and I was promptly brought requested hot sauce. Overall a good start to our day at Universal, complete with obligatory pics in front of the super-cool leaky cauldron itself.

The Leaky Cauldron was exactly as it should be, a little creepy and a little questionable on the food. «If you have the pea soup make sure you eat it before it eats you» good advice shrunken head. Well there isn’t any pea soup, it’s mostly just the same options at the other pubs in Harry Potter world. You order your food at the counter and they bring it out to your table. The atmosphere is dark and seedy just like it should be. Big long wooden tables take up the main room and there are several little tables hidden in corners perfect for a lurking dark wizard to be chilling in. There’s a big cauldron in front and upstairs a few props indicative of Harry’s visits to The Cauldron in the books. You can get the ever necessary butterbeer either frozen or as a regular drink(or both, why choose??). They have some fun British selections to keep the illusion you are in fact in a magical alley pub in London. There are fish and chips, bangers and mash, and a shepherd’s pie just to name a few. They do have a gluten free bun and made me a chicken sandwich. All is served on plastic plates with plastic cutlery. The frozen butterbeer was pretty nom and the sandwich was okay, it’s really great that they have gf options at all though! I think the Leaky Cauldron is a perfect example of what is depicted in the books and movies. The food is pretty mediocre, but hey even Harry turned down dining there in book 3! Don’t miss at least giving it a try

This restaurant was great in a pinch. You order at the counter, then they will bring the food to your table. They don’t show this on the menu but you can order side dishes if you don’t want a full meal. I was under the weather and couldn’t eat a lot, so just ordering a few sides saved me money and was a good portion. Atmosphere: Great if you’re into Harry Potter. I personally loved it. Casual dining with a few nice touches in décor. Service: The staff was super friendly and informative. Everyone seemed very happy to be working there. Food: I can’t give a full review since I just got a few sides, but I loved the minted peas. The fries were good, standard tasting, satisfying. I wish I had felt well enough to try the butter beer, but that will have to be my next visit.

This place is worth going to see for the experience. The food is just average, but hey, you gotta eat right? The building is very well done and you can sit in the hall and just soak it all in. One trip was enough, I would not be in a rush to return.

The décor is amazing as is most of HP at Universal. This time we actually stopped in and ate. We went specifically to try the Potted Butterbeer and it was tasty. We made ourselves order«real» food as well(to soak up all the sugar from the day) and chose the Guinness Stew with Lamb and Pork. It’s served in a bread bowl and comes with a small side salad. Everything tasted great. Super sweet staff as well.

Experience triumphs Food. Please keep in mind that you are at Universal Studio’s, you are not at a 5 star restaurant in Paris or New York. Also if your not a fan of Harry Potter then why are you here?. I had both breakfast and dinner here. The food is mediocre and dinner was much better than breakfast. If you have to choose one then go with a late snack. It’s also less crowded. Just being there will make you pretty happy since your right in the middle of Diagon Alley. I recommend the following. 1– Fish & Chips 2– Beer on tap(my favorite was Dragon Scale Brew) 3– and most important. BUTTERBEER!

Great establishment within the parks! Universal did a fantastic job of recreating an iconic pub from the Harry Potter books. The atmosphere is just right– there’s a gigantic cauldron with a large crack in it, a space that shows the rooms above the pub(where Harry slept in book 3!), and plenty of nice, long wooden tables. I must say, Universal runs this place like a well-oiled machine. They have menus available while you’re in line so you can look things over to make decisions in advance. They have someone posted at the door to answer questions before you order your food. They take your order and then seat you, and your food is then delivered remarkably quickly. It does feel like you’re a little rushed to eat and get in and out quickly. Because of the high volume they do there, there’s some sense of pressure from the staff as you watch them eye your table, waiting for you to leave so they can seat the next group. The food itself is pretty solid. I had the fish and chips, which were very tasty. The fish was good and fresh and the chips were particularly yummy. My brother enjoyed the bangers and mash, and my parents liked the cottage pie they split. I’d say the main limitation with the food is that they try to keep the fare British… and notoriously, British food is not very good. Sorry, England. Everything is served on plastic disposable plates and you eat with plastic silverware, which is a little annoying, but def not a big deal. Worth checking out if you’re a big Harry Potter fan! Butterbeer is heavenly!

Friendly service. REALLY amazing décor. You feel like you’re in the Harry Potter verse for sure. Butter beer and the actual alcoholic beers they have on tap brewed specifically for HP World are amazing. However, the food definitely lacks. I was hoping pub food isn’t too hard to manage. You come in, you order at the counter, they give you a number, you sit down and they bring it to you. I had the Beef, Lamb & Guinness Stew … not bad — not great — sort of meh. My boyfriend’s Cottage Pie was alright also. Nothing out of this world amazing. I think next time, we’ll stick to eating in the Simpsons area. But if you want to feel like you’re in the HP films dining, definitely check it out.

A mix between a quick service/sit-down British food in Diagon Alley, leaning more towards a mass quick service. The food comes out fast but for me was just average. After waiting in line a while you place an order for food and then get a number, and search amongst a large seating area. Then your tray is brought out pretty soon after. Came here for lunch and got a cottage pie. It came with a small salad with dressing on the side. The pie itself was pretty small — barely larger than the butterbeer mug. The potato was nice and fluffy and the crust was slightly flaky, but there was lack of flavor and the plate was overall pretty bland. I tried a bit of a chicken sandwich and it had slightly more flavor than my dish but not super memorable.

Harry Potter fans need to check this place out, the décor inside is very Harry Potter! Don’t expect to be wowed by the food, after all it is theme park food. Also the portions are a little smaller but it’s again expected. But I will say the English dishes here weren’t half bad! Also they have all the themed harry potter drinks served here including some fun draft beers! My friends and I had: — Toad in the hole — Fish and chips kids meal — Bangers and mash — All of their draft beers All in all if I’m back in Universal, I’ll be sure to stop in!
