Awesome Pastrami sandwich! This is the second time eating. Definitely the closest thing to real NY pastrami. The slaw that came with was a little bit warm, but is expected when it’s 90 degrees out.

I was very disappointed with my experience at the Pastrami Project, especially because I love the food they offer. They were attending techtrucktoberfest by Lake Eola but the crowd was by no means overwhelming or an excuse for their poor service and food. I felt rushed to give my order and was given attitude when I tried to clarify what would be on my sandwich. There was a long wait for the actual food to come out and they were just as brusque when I went to pick up the food from the window which I witnessed with other customers as well. I ordered the reuben sandwich which was several dollars too expensive and had a disapointing amount of meat on there, which is too bad because it was a decent tasting sandwich.

I would love to give this place a better review because the food was ok. They just have a bevy of problems. I’ve gone to this truck twice and eaten once. The first time I walked away because it was the slowest truck ever. Each sandwich was taking about 8 min. And on top of that customers weren’t even acknowledged when they came to truck and were waiting for 10 min. I had to walk away. The second time I actually got to order and even though the employees were rude I wanted to actually try the food. The $ 12 ruben came out. It was very small, the bread wasn’t toasted at all(which is only unfortunate, not required), and the pastrami was only alright. I’ve seen multiple sandwiches from this truck and they are all too small to justify the price as well as having very inconsistent amounts of meat.

I was looking forward to this food truck being Orange City tonight since it would be the first time. While waiting for my sandwich, a pastrami on rye, the lady in the truck started handing out the same sandwich to 3 other people who ordered after me. When I spoke up the man making the sandwiches said he was going as fast as he could. I told him that people after me with the same order had been served and he rudely told me he could only cut the meat so fast. The sandwich was extremely fatty(even for pastrami) and not all that good. Between the attitude and the overpriced so-so sandwich I won’t order from this truck again. Not worth it at all.

I came across The Pastrami Project while at a techie meetup. My boyfriend and I decided to share the Lox on a bagel. It was honestly, one of the best lox bagels that I’ve ever eaten. We opted for the sesame seed bagel that day. It was so soft and just really big. The cream cheese was also really good. As for the salmon, it was smoked to perfection and just added a good amount of saltiness to offset the cream cheese. The guys who run the truck are very friendly and funny as well. I find the prices to be very reasonable for the quality that you get. Although I did share with one other person, I was still really full because it was a pretty big bagel. I definitely recommend the Pastrami Project if you ever catch them around the city.

Got the corned beef Reuben. Meat was so tender and melted in my mouth, the sauerkraut was good, but the dressing lacked flavor and I couldn’t taste the Swiss cheese at all. Also up charging to make the sandwich a Reuben was a bit ridiculous because the sandwich was not worth $ 11.

Simply put, The Pastrami Project makes the best pastrami in Orlando. They are the only business I have set to *notify* me specifically when they make a post, so I can try to go there. I’ve had their pastrami at least 4 times now. Each time it’s been fantastic. They’ll cut your meat the way you like it, lean or fatty. Just don’t ask for mayonnaise on it! My wife is Jewish, and she has extremely exactly standards for pastrami. The Pastrami Project is the only pastrami she’s had in Orlando that is even acceptable. I highly highly recommend The Pastrami Project for all your pastrami eating needs.

I had a piece of this truck’s N.Y.-style cheescake as well as a black and white cookie when it was at the food truck event in Longwood(the third Mon. of every month at the church near where Rangeline Road and E.E. Williamson intersect) last month. Both were very good! I already had some actual dinner from a few of the other trucks, so I didn’t order any dinner items from The Pastrami Project, but I definitely would consider it in the future. I don’t know much about the truck at this time … if you want to know more, check out its website at and follow its progress on Facebook at … it looks like updates about where the truck will be and when are posted as the truck goes out on the road.
