The Zebra Room

I suck at dancing. I’m just going to throw that out there now. Some time about a year before our wedding, my fiancée said, «Hey, we should take dance lessons for our dance at the wedding!» Not wanting to come off as the bad guy, I said, «Sure, I’ll take dance classes with you.» She was so happy. Cool. She’ll never remember, it’s a whole year away!

Well imagine my surprise when I actually really enjoyed our lessons! So much so that I’d be totally interested in going back to learn some other dance style.
In only 4 one-​hour sessions, Olivia had my wife and I dancing, twirling, dipping and spinning up a storm for the first dance at our wedding. It was a big hit, everyone loved our dance and it was mentioned often thereafter.
Olivia is an excellent teacher with a firm yet friendly demeanor. The one-​on-​one lessons really help to maximize learning because it allows her to focus on the things that are giving you trouble. It works like a charm. Honestly, I never thought I would enjoy taking the classes, let alone be capable of what we were able to do at our wedding!
It was a great experience. I need to track down one of the videos and link to it. We may not be professionals, but it looks pretty great for only four classes!

After a less than excellent experience with another dance studio, we found Olivia Gale and The Zebra Room.
The studio is at Olivia’s house and there are two studio rooms. She is highly trained, extremely knowledgeable about all types of dance. Her method for teaching ballroom to couples is hands on, hour long classes and in a private studio — no one else is allowed on the floor. She teaches all methods of ballroom dance including salsa, foxtrot, rumba, and the waltz. From leading the female to dancing with the male and teaching him how to lead, she is super talented and easy to learn from.
Her prices are reasonable ($ 50/​class for a couple) and she has time slots available each week in the evenings. Olivia is passionate about dancing and even became emotional when she read a few of her poems to us.
It is wonderful to have a professional dance instructor who is focused on our technique instead of our wallets.
