My fiancé and I were in the area and found this hole in the wall sandwich spot on Unilocal.Let me tell you, I’m glad we did! We came this rainy Saturday evening and were greeting by Jason, the owner of the restaurant. He explained how everything was all made fresh(minus the bread) and how they worked. He did apologize for being a little shorthanded on some ingredients since they make things fresh and he was busy earlier in the day and also since he said they would be closed Sunday. This didn’t stop him from impressing us or delivering a tasty sandwich! We both got the Cuban sandwich. They were out of ham but asked if he could sub for turkey. We said that was fine and it was so good! He explained how he made the pesto aioli and it was a great touch to the sandwich! I’m usually pretty picky with my Cuban sandwiches and Jason definitely made the cut! We had cheddar popcorn on the side which was a different touch but good. He was out of hummus as well but offered to make some fresh for us. We shared that with a side of carrot sticks and cucumber and it was delish! We washed it all down with some iced raspberry infused sweet tea. Normally when I’ve had sweet tea, it’s SUPER sweet. But this had the perfect amount of sweetness and not an overwhelming raspberry taste. We definitely left there with full and happy tummies. While we were there, we chatted with Jason and he shared with us some of the touches he put into what he made there but of course, never gave away all the ingredients. :) My fiancé and I were the only ones there so it was nice getting to know Jason one on one and talk about his establishment. I know we’ll definitely be coming back! Thanks again Jason!

Cute little lunch spot. Split the Cuban and Banh Mi sandwich with a friend. The Cuban was my favorite but both were good. We brought our computers and had a relaxing lunch and it was the perfect set up. They offer coffee too.

The menu looked very interesting and diverse but the flavor wasn’t really there. With so many ingredients per item you figure there would be some incredible flavors, but nothing really stood out. It wasn’t bad though, and I did like that the sandwiches were quite different from each other. The owner was very friendly and makes everything himself, which I love to hear.

3 ½ stars for a small little sandwich shop with tasty sandwiches. My wife and I encountered This N That while participating in the Drink Around the Hood event around the Lake Ivanhoe area a few months ago. The shop owner(who gave out some of the best drinks for the event) told us about his tasty organic food and invited us to come back and try it out sometime. Being the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend, we decided to take him up on his offer. Located on Orange Avenue near the White Wolf Café, This N That is a little sandwich shop that you can find by looking for a black overhang with words like«Coffee» and«Sandwich» on it. When we arrived, the cashier/cook was standing outside having a cigarette. While not a great sign, we decided to go in anyway and have a look around. Being a little after the rush lunch period near a holiday, we came to find the shop was totally empty. Once again, we were a little nervous, but we went to the counter to look over the menus. The cashier didn’t seem too thrilled to have us in there, but he did make some good recommendations. I decided to get two of the specials written up on the board called the Garlic Sanger(only $ 5) and my wife ordered the torta. We were handed our drink cups and proceeded to the eating area. It is a cute little area with lots of fun«farm to table» signs and other subtle decorations. After waiting for about 15 minutes(since the cook had to make all three sandwiches from scratch by himself and handle another customer that came in), he brought over our food. Our nervousness was put to rest when we saw tasty-looking sandwiches and a surprise: popcorn as the side! The popcorn was a fun and tasty treat to go with the sandwiches. My wife really enjoyed her Torta(read her upcoming review for more details) and I really liked my Garlic Sangers, which were a combo of garlic bread, bacon, roasted tomato, and spinach. I would recommend getting 2 of those if you do decide to order this special. After we finished, we dropped our trays up at the counter and the cashier/cook thanked us for coming in and gave us a coupon for $ 7 off our next meal of $ 15 or more! They apparently do Grub Hub(and you can kind of tell they are torn between being a delivery shop and a regular sandwich shop), so I’ll definitely be placing some orders with them in the future. Overall, This N That is a cute little sandwich shop that had good sandwiches and fun popcorn. While it isn’t one of the elite sandwich places in Orlando, the low prices and tasty sandwiches make This N That somewhere worth checking out if you are around Lake Ivanhoe or you are browsing Grub Hub for your lunch.

Great food! We walked in on a whim and discovered heaven. Everything is made fresh and the Cuban coffee is on point. This place is a gem for sure!

Wanted it to be better than it turned out to be. Had the torta sandwich– just ok flavors and bread seemingly like from McDonalds. Curry chicken salad was somewhat interesting but the chicken was dry. Used a travelzoo coupon which made it worth it. Otherwise not so much. No high chairs and weird/non-existent service. Would much rather go to PomPom’s!

Stopped in for lunch with my husband this past weekend. I am always on the lookout for a good Cuban sandwich and this n that did not disappoint. It tasted amazing! It came with a side of beer and carrot chips which I enjoyed. My husband got the torta sandwich which was also tasty. The guy who helped us was friendly. The seating area was nice and cozy. I would like to go back to try the café con leche. And of course anytime I am craving a good Cuban, I have my go to spot now.

I came here the other day with my fiancé for a quick bite to eat in between classes. I ordered the curry chicken salad and wasn’t very pleased. The chicken was so tough, I wasn’t really sure if it was chicken at first. The salad was also supposed to come with fennel, which I saw/tasted none of in the salad and the curry dressing was watery and very bitter. The lettuce however was fresh and the raisins were a nice addition. What I really didn’t enjoy was the fact that there was about a cup of sweetened banana chips added to the salad? That ingredient isn’t listed on the menu yet they were all over my salad. I follow a low carb diet so I wasn’t excited about these sugary snacks being the majority of my salad. Thank goodness I like bananas though or I would have waited another 20 minutes for a remake. I decided to let it go and eat it anyhow as I had to get back to school. The establishment also had no water and no ice in the soda fountain. The only thing that was really delicious was the roast beef sandwich my fiancé ordered. I took a bite and it was really yummy! Maybe their sandwiches are just better to order than their salads? Also the sandwich came with microwave popcorn? Weird. I honestly don’t think I would go back. But if you do go, get the sandwich and ask what the side is!

My fiancé and I came here for a quick lunch in between classes. We went in right around 1140 and we were the only people dining at the time. Right when we walked in we greeted the employee behind the counter and he seemed very unapproachable and kinda stand offish. We ordered our food and sat down. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and she ordered the curry chicken salad and we shared a fountain soda because they were out of water. I went to get some ice from the fountain and it was out of ice. He had to pour ice from one of those ice bags you buy for a cooler at a gas station. So we waited about 20 – 25 minutes just for a sandwich and salad. The food finally came out and my fiancés salad had ingredients missing and some that weren’t even on the menu but still came in the salad. My sandwich was very good and the bread was excellent. However, it came with popcorn … Which made me scratch my head for a second because I’ve never had a lunch that came with that side before. It wasn’t anything special. Just your average Pop secret you buy from a grocery store. But my fiancé was very disappointed in her salad because of things missing, items randomly added and her dressing was watered down. I hope that this places tightens up because it has potential and the location is prime. But I will most likely never come back to this establishment.

This place has definitely changed since my last visit, and it’s in a positive way! The owner was able to redo all the décor and upgraded the seating and the bathroom, so it’s a pretty nice little spot now. Also the menu has been doubled, and there are many more options to choose from, all of which sound delicious. As I was only able to stop by for a short time, I ended up ordering a macchiato to go, and the guy was super super helpful and very nice. I told him I really needed the espresso for a pick me up, and he topped me off well. The macchiato was well made and tasted great. I was looking over the menu while I was there and although I didn’t order door during this visit, there were a few items that caught my eye, such as the Avocado Smash on the breakfast menu(I’m also a sucker for avocado though, so I’ll likely be interested in almost anything with that word in the title). I’ll be back to order some food again, as the last sandwich I had from here was very tasty, so I anticipate that all the new items would be of equal quality. This place is a great find!

This n that eats is everything you want from a lunch on the go. Convenient, healthy, moderately priced, and just an overall great energy! They saved my life from horrible food during a stint in the hospital in Orlando.

This is a great spot to grab lunch, but as the other reviewers said it’s still very new and a bit rough around the edges. The food was great, and will only get better with time. The owner was very friendly and took his time to explain the menu. Everything(except the bread) is made in house and each of the six sandwiches on the menu represent a different part of world. In addition to the sandwiches, they also have salads and espresso. I had the Cuban, and it was great. Another customer came in and couldn’t decide between a couple items and the owner made a custom sandwich for him. I want to go back and try the pork belly belly! While there the owner was making candy from scratch(even making his own corn syrup) and I hope the candy makes it onto the menu. My only two complaints are that the menu is small and only has around 10 items and it took longer to make my Cuban that I think it should have. These are very minor, and my overall experience was a good one!

Delicious but needs some tender loving care but I have faith they will only improve. It’s a small spot right on Ivanhoe that has some counter and table seating. Great for a nice lunch. The gentleman working was extremely welcoming and walked us through the menu. It’s a smaller menu but it seems they are focusing on really great sandwiches and sides instead of having overwhelming options, which I appreciate. Thai Tea — wasn’t that impressive, not sure but something was just off… Sanger Sandwich — Their version of a BLT — thick cut bacon, aioli, green leaf, My Yard Farm tomato, crusty bread. — Delicious. Not a ton of filling but it all went together well and the bread was perfect. We were told the only thing they don’t make in house is the bread, everything else is made by them and made freshly each day. Went with a side of the Cucumber Avocado — but it just seemed like Cucumber Tomato. However, it was absolutely bursting with flavor and I even dipped my sandwich in the leftover oil… just so odd that it didn’t have a trace of avocado that I could see unless it was somehow involved without me knowing. When you order a side though, there is no pre-made batches, it’s all very freshly made to order. That is nice. I will definitely be back but hope they continue to tweak and improve because they have a ton of potential.

4 Stars for a sandwich shop that is a bit rough around the edges(still fairly new), but whose flavors are on point! Right off the bat, I knew this place would be good. I’ve gone to a dinner put on by Jason Schofield and he’s a mighty chef! Unfortunately he wasn’t in, but the man who was there was pretty friendly. I ordered the Torta sandwich which has beans, avocado, tomato, and pork. The cook let me know they make everything in-house(other than the bread) and you could definitely tell. Homemade mayo? Yes, plz! The pork was wonderfully seasoned, with delightfully crispy edges. It was pretty salty, but this girl likes her salt, so I was a happy camper! I also got the Bulgar(a grain) side, but asked for it without any spice so though I wasn’t a huge fan, I can imagine some heat would have pumped the dish up a lot. My coworker ordered the avocado cucumber side which she absolutely loved, but we both noticed that it had no discernible avocado in it! The vinaigrette was intense and had us practically licking the plate, but it still seemed odd that an ingredient in the name of the fish seemed entirely absent. Overall, I dig this place. It has surprising flavor combinations with sandwich styles ranging from regions all over the world. I’m stoked to try more of their sandwiches, but may skip the sides next time.

I just came in for coffee. And it was horrible. It was the middle of the day, and I wanted to try the cold brew. The guy put loads of half and half in the two cups without asking if I even wanted it. Which would be ok, I guess, but the coffee was so weak. It was the worst iced coffee I’ve ever had, ever. I threw mine out. Maybe the sandwiches are better, but I will survive just fine never going back.

After seeing several glowing reviews from fellow Unilocalers, I decided to try This N That Eats for lunch yesterday. I live nearby and had no problems finding the place or grabbing a parking spot right outside. When I walked in, I stood at the counter for about 45 seconds, while the girl behind the counter(the only other person in the place) was super intrigued with whatever she was reading on her phone and didn’t look up to acknowledge me until I let out a somewhat sassy«hello…» Anyway, I decided to go with the Torta and a café con leche to go. The café con leche was good and the Torta was delicious! It was a hearty, flavorful sandwich served with chips. I did notice a few things were different than the menu on their website… the prices seemed to have gone up from $ 5 to $ 6 for a few of the sandwiches and the Torta was listed as having chorizo online but the menu in the café said pork. Not a big deal, but worth noting. I’ll definitely come back to try some of the other menu items because the food was really tasty. I hope they get a little better with customer service and make sure they greet their paying customers when they walk in. Lastly, I wish they were open a little later during the week. I think they close at 6pm which isn’t quite late enough to grab a bite to eat after work… if they closed at 7 or 8pm I’d probably be back this week with my boyfriend.

A Needle in-a Haystack. There, I just re-named this incredible little sandwich spot on Ivanhoe. If you’re seeking OUTSTANDING sandwiches, quality ingredients & generous customer service, you’ve found your little joint. The pork’s so DAMN good, you’ll swear the owner has a little ol’ Puerto Rican abuelitahostage in the back. I had the pleasure of devouring the Torta, which showcased the owners passion for food through every bite of flavorful, juicy, perfectly orchestrated pork. Weird, menu description says it only has chorizo; whatever! it was a very welcomed surprise. NEXT, the Cubano. It was good, bread was fantastic, homemade pickles were an AWESOME touch, but to make it GREAT, just add a little more PORK, please & thank you. Overall, the quality of the ingredients, cleanliness of the establishment and the yumness factor was a total recipe for success! Icing on the cake was THEOWNER. After just a few minutes of chatting you realize you’re in the presence of someone with vision and the ability to manifest it into a successful reality. What great energy he brought to our day with his delicious food and impressive hospitality. Thank u again!

Been here with my wife twice now and we have enjoyed every one of the dishes we tried. The food is great and everything is all made fresh and to order. The owner was really informative about how the food was prepared and seems to just be an all around food lover. It was really great to hear just how passionate he was about his craft and the dishes he makes. First time I stopped in, I had the«Cheese Dream» with the upcharge for adding bacon — didn’t regret it at all, it was delicious. I also got to sample the salad my wife got that wasn’t on the menu. It had fresh roasted corn, cucumbers, cheese(don’t recall the kind of cheese), roasted tomatoes and a bunch of other amazing components. It was so good that, the second time my wife and I came in, we both made sure to ask for that salad, lol. I also tried the Banh Mi — SOOO good and sampled my wife’s Cuban sando, also reeeeally good. I REALLY want this place to stick around since that location in Ivanhoe doesn’t seem to have the best luck with its residents but I’m really pulling for«This N That Eats.» I’m giving it 5 stars but the only critique I’m gonna give is about the ambience of the place. The interior could definitely use some work but when it all comes down to it, the food is really great and it makes for a good in-and-out lunch spot. Not gonna harp on the interior too much: p

The menu here consist of: Multiple organic salads such as kale salad, arugula salad and curried chicken salad. Sandwiches that are inspired from all around the world, like the Vietnamese Bánh mi, Cuban, Sanger and the Torta, all prepared in a unique style with a gourmet twist. Sides that include Shepherds bulgar, Hummus and Cucumber Avocado. Staying true to the global influence of of the love for food, an additional perk of This N That Eats, is the coffee and tea selections influenced from across the world. The Cheese Dream is an outstanding interpretation of a grilled cheese that features: Vermont Cheddar, smoked tomato jam on rustic bread. You can also add bacon or pork confit for a minimal up-charge. For a mouth watering sandwich I would recommend the Torta with Pork Confit, queso fresco, re-fried beans, avocado, Mexican crème, tomato and shredded lettuce on Semita roll. Although there is a set menu, don’t be surprised if Chef Jason offers up specialty items from time to time like the Sous Vide Short Rib sandwich on a ciabatta roll. Sous Vide if you are not familiar, is a method of cooking in which food is sealed in airtight plastic bags then placed in a water bath or in a temperature-controlled steam environment for longer than normal cooking times which produce perfect temperatures and juiciness for meats. During my visit I sampled both the Espresso and this delicious Café con Leche. I consider myself as an aficionado of all things Cuban coffee and both of these drinks were outstanding! If you happen to be or heading in the direction of The Ivanhood or just looking for some seriously good eats, you should definitely stop by and hang out in this cozy neighborhood spot.
