Anyone can attend this place, women, men, children and it could save your life, so GO! A few Unilocalers and I attended a 3 hour workshop last night and it was phenomenal. Whenever you hear«self-defense» class, if you are like me, you think it’s going to be hard work or something you have to work up to but this place totally has you rethink that. It is SOEASY and actually fun. I have so much I want to say but if you don’t want to read this entire review, read this: 1. Easy 2. Fun 3. Useful 4. Important 5. Powerful — I now feel safer walking in a dark parking lot, walking my dog and just being aware of my surroundings. Check it out, there is a money back guarantee so if you don’t feel you learned anything, no worries. I can assure you, you will not want your money back. The reason the owner/founder, Jeff, started Fighting Chance Combat Systems is two fold. His son was the one who put the idea in his head about«what now?» when being attacked. He has since lost his son and continues to get the word out in his honor. The second is that he lost two family friends to a home invasion and he knows that if he had given them tips for a «Fighting Chance,» they could still be alive today. Just hearing his passion and dedication alone made the trip here worth it. He walked you through why it’s important to know what he teaches you, it’s amazing how empowered you feel after hearing from him. Now what to expect from this place is hard to put into words, you really need to experience it for yourself. This place focuses on training its students in the environments in which violent assaults commonly occur. Emphasis is on awareness and the application of simple and effective techniques that anyone can apply without extensive and time-consuming training. Basically, the space is a huge warehouse space with a room of mats for sparring and floor work… and different rooms with real life situations as the background, an alleyway, a bar, a bedroom, living room, kitchen, office, classroom and ATM settings. It’s impressive. The goal is to put you in «real life» situations and teach you how common sense can get you out. All of the instructors are so excited to be there helping people out. You will feel like you fit right in as everyone is jumping at the chance to help everyone else. There are fake guns and knives that you use to actually make you feel like you are in the situation. The more you practice, the more confident you feel in the simple moves. Also, there is no «perfect situation» so you go through multiple situations so that you are prepared in the real world. There are multiple ways you can attend this workshop, classes or bootcamp. You can go once or you can go weekly, it’s completely up to you, no contracts. You will never watch action or horror shows/movies the same ever again. You will be thinking«Why don’t they just roll their shoulder?» — I’m serious. If anyone wants to go and feels better going with a partner, hit me up, I will go with you!

I just returned from Unilocal event here and am SOPUMPED up that I wanted to write about it immediately. I’ll start by saying that Jeff and his team are phenomenal! The space is a huge warehouse space with a room of mats for sparring and floor work… and the different rooms with real living space set up, like a bedroom, living room, kitchen, office. In three hours I learned several moves… a few will actually stick, and I feel so much more confident. The teaching is very hands on, practical… and the instructors are unassuming and engaging. I saw an 88-pound girl take out a 6’10 guy with 2 moves. THAT’S NOJOKE! Jeff was a professional stunt man and has choreographed many stunts on shows including the New Charlie’s Angels and I think Burn Notice… check this place out. They’re good people doing a good thing.
