Place must be closed. Went there but no record store. Bummer.

This is a relative newcomer to vinyl scene in Orlando. Unlike a lot of other stores, no CD’s here just records. I find it ironic that vinyl has almost outlived CD’s at this point. This store is similar to the old DIY Records if anyone remembers that place. They carry mostly underground stuff(punk, garage, etc.) The selection in great and there’s always some good conversation going on. The store is a really weird spot; tucked in the back of a mini-mall and is very difficult to see from the street. I would definitely recommend Map Questing it on your first visit. The only thing I don’t really like about the store is they only sell new records. This isn’t a huge detractor but it would be nice to have a small section of used stuff to look though. If you like underground music and like supporting your local music scene, this is the only game in town. Most of this stuff you could buy online but why would you want to do that when a great shop like this exists. Put the iPad down and come out to support your local businesses!

Thought it was worth mentioning that when I said«hidden», what I actually meant was almost completely impossible to see from the road. The shop can be found in a small cottage tucked into the back parking lot of a row of shops. While on Robinson, keep an eye out for Sandwich Bar, Milk Bar, Etoile Boutique and the old Covert Skateshop(I think it may be Mother Falcon now?). It’s behind that strip of businesses. Also, keep an eye out for Vinyl Richie’s shows around town, including. monthly party at SUBstance each second Thursday of the month, as well as various shows at venues like Will’s Pub. Oh and Rich has a third vinyl label now called Florida’s Dead — ask to hear some of the upcoming stuff.

We’re not in Musicland anymore, ma. You’ll never find another record store like this. And if you do, let me know. First off, no CDs to be found. It’s all vinyl. Secondly, with the exception of Nobunny or the Black Lips, you’ve probably never heard of most(any) of these bands but they’re all great. Richie doesn’t order shit, dog. As Rich W said, carefully selected inventory is comprised of releases on the fringe of normalcy. Garage /punk /psych and variations and permutations therein, this humble shop brings the underground to the foreground and not a moment too soon. This is the epitome of a DIY cool business.
