We have been vacationing in Cape Cod for a wewk. Have been to several restaurants. This was by far the best. Very cosy, nice décor and pleasant atmosphere. Food was very tasty. Unlike other restaurants on the Cape — there was a real chef in the kitchen. We actually took a look at the kitchen, downstairs, and we’re impressed by the action. Shrimp and Lobster Pod Thai was tasty and very flavourful. The Halibut was very good, not enough eggplant as was described on the menu; but never the less very good. Desserts: You can skip the sorbet but the other choices are nice. Nice, polite and attentive service. Somewhat pricey but still recommended.

This restaurant is as good as it’s gets on cape cod and further… Food is DIFFERENT– with a twist on local sustainable foods and a Mediterranean /Thai twist. What more could you ask for? How about an exceptional wine list and a bartender that not only looks sexy summer but serves up cocktails that are to die for! If you’re one for quantity instead of qualility don’t bother. If you’re looking for crazy fresh seafood guarded by a high quality chef– LOOKNOFARTHER. Abba is as good as Cape Cod gets. Drop the Mike…

The owner /hostess of this establishment is unprofessional, rude and downright hostile. We arrived 15mins early for our reservation and hugged the wall of the entry, doing our best to accommodate the needs of waitstaff in this restaurant’s very tight quarters. When we offered to move to the bar area to make more room we were told we were not welcome there. Eventually, after agreeably shuffling around for staff needs, our efforts were not up to par and we were asked, in 50 degree weather to «wait outside.» Unfortunately, this establishment will most likely stay in business due to the influx of summer customers but it has lost our year round business. The owner /hostess refused to take our constructive criticism, shrieked and hollered in response. «Abba» is a don’t «botha.» Not worth the bad taste it’ll leave in your mouth.

High prices, not too much food on your plate, nicely presented plates but for the prices, this is to be expected. Rather snooty hostess and waitstaff. Atmosphere is crowded and noisy. Interesting menu and food is good — is it good enough to overcome the above? We have been there a number of times and the above comments seem to hold true over time. We are not likely to go back.

The food was awesome. The portions on the appetizers are a little small but they are delicious. The cocktails were outstanding — we tried the spicy margarita and the cucumber melon martini and loved them. The lobster pad Thai was awesome… Apps were good but not sure they were worth the money considering the portion size. Would definitely come back because of the ambiance.

Have been for many years but was disappointed with my last meal. The service was very slow and the lobster pad Thai was spicy. When I complained about it they did nothing except tell me they will let the chef know. Won’t be back next year.

Let me start by saying that we have been to Abba many times in the past and the food has always been good. But please read on about our most recent experience. There were comments at the table about the food coming out slowly. It wasn’t the servers fault, but rather the kitchen apparently can not keep up with the size of the restaurant in August. When the food arrived for the 5 of us, mine had a very curly black hair in it. The waitress properly removed the meal. A few minutes later she returned to let me know a new meal would be coming. It arrived at about the time the rest of my party was finishing. I was quite surprised that a manager did not make an appearance. After I finished the meal, the waitress indicted that my dessert would be free. When we did not order dessert she did comp a glass of wine. I asked her if I could see a manager, as thought a manager should have apologized for hair in my meal. A short time later, the owner of the restaurant came over and began to make excuses about it being August and that she put my replacement meal in ahead of everyone else’s. Realty? There was never an apology and the owner took attitude with me, I suppose she expects you should just remove the hair and continue on. On the way out, one of the people on my party stopped and said to the owner that the entire situation was handled very poorly, and at the very least the meal should have been comped. She didn’t make eye contact and she wasn’t at all concerned about loosing customers. As stated in other reviews, apparently there is so much business in the summer that they don’t really care. Well, we are year long customers and we will never be back at anytime during the year. A good restaurant is more than just good food, but rather a fine dining experience, which this was definitely not. Go elsewhere.

Like many have said the food here was very good. I had the crab roll was was a bit small but followed with the halibut which was excellent and the right proportion. I also tried the tuna entrée which was very good(I love tuna sushi so the fact that it was mostly uncooked fine for me.) Drinks were good and they seemed to have a good wine list(our party only ordered one bottle and I didn’t see the list.) There is something a little odd about the service here. There were no real issues but one dish was missing and the reaction was more like«are you sure you ordered it?» I distinctly heard the order and there was even a discussion about the dish with the waitress so it was odd that you’d kind of feel *challenged* by the staff rather than simply getting a «sorry let me bring that right away!» Supply and demand mean this place is jammed in the summer and has little incentive to worry about perfect customer service so enjoy it for what it is. We probably won’t hurry back since the place was a bit of a mismatch with our personal Cape style and there are better/closer options for us in Mid-Cape. I would say that you should definitely give it a go sometime, maybe for a special occasion.

The food was really good and different. But the service was seasonal and not very professional. And the wine list was completely different from the one online. Not a small difference in vintage but 100% different. So the wine I was looking forward to drinking and all the alternates were not on the list. I mentioned to the server and bartender and no one seemed to care. What could have been a 5 star experience slips to 3 – 4.

One star for the waitress but nothing more. Long story short this place is highly over priced, for what you get here. Overall food was NOT great! We had to send our food back to the kitchen THREE times because it was undercooked. Their excuse was there is different lighting in the kitchen. We specifically told the waitress that we wanted our food«very well done» — i am expecting and can not have any raw meat! By the second time i got it back i wanted to walk out ! The woman came to me and told me «its duck, its supposed to be a lil raw» –i thought this was an awful thing to say. The manager really did her best to ignore the fact that we were dissatisfied with the food! The bill came for the full amount and I was to my end! Horrible, horrible way to run a restaurant business! Or any business for that matter. To not even give us a discount or hell, give us a free dessert!?! We were disgusted with the treatment that we got here! I would not recommend this place to anyone! As I am writing this my stomach is killing me! I feel like I got jacked!

The service is rude and the management unfriendly. They cancelled my reservation without informing me, and when I showed up with three other people they told me that had a problem with another diner with my same last name, so they cancelled all reservations with that name. Instead of apologizing to me and seating my group, they told us to leave. We will never go back there. I would give them zero stars if I could.

What a pleasant surprise to find a first class dining experience on Cape Cod. Our party of eight dined on a Saturday night in the summer(with a reservation). Service was exceptional, the wine list substantial

This is a fantastic restaurant. Four of us had a meal there last night and everything that everyone had was delicious. We ate out in the enclosed patio and it was wonderful. Lots of flowers and patio heaters to keep us warm. Great in October. This will be our go to place here in the future.

We ate at Abba on a busy Saturday evening. The service was very slow, and the food was good, not great. I had the lobster and shrimp pad thai. I expected a lot, but was under-whelmed. I thought the sauce was a bit too heavy and the lobster a bit under-cooked for my taste. The scallop entrée was good, but a small portion for the price. I di really enjoy the fresh crab spring roll. The staff were very nice. The setting was intimate and cozy, but a bit crowded. It was pricey for what we got. I may be back, but not anytime soon.

The food here is good … but in our opinion Way too expensive for what you get. We have been trying to get in here for years and last night we got lucky(well kinda) we got a late reservation for 4 on a saturday ! The space was small but well done. Staff was attentive. Drinks were good but pricy. Food was good but not amazing. portions were small & honestly we were overall under whelmed. Price – $ 70 pp included 2 drinks pp we all shared 1 app each had an entrée and 1 dessert split 4 ways.

This place used to be my favorite place on the Cape, but my last experience changed that. They used to serve olives and really good bread when you showed up, and last time I went, no olives anymore. The Thai mussels, with a spicy creamy coconut pineapple sauce, used to be an absolute highlight, and was replaced with a much weaker mussels dish that tasted a little off. The waitstaff used to be uniformly excellent, and this had changed as well; the waiter was uninformed and seemed uninterested in his job. All in all, a major disappointment at a place that had always pleased in the past.

Love this place! We visit every time we come to the Cape. I especially love sitting up at the bar. The space is rather tight from the moment you walk in. But once you’re seated, you feel right at home. It can get hectic during peak dinnertime hours, but the staff does a great job of balancing everything. Hilde, the bartender, makes a phenomenal Mojito and Margarita. The selection behind the bar is extensive, sure to satisfy everyone. The atmosphere is very cozy inside. Beautifully decorated and warm feeling. I’m sure Abba will outgrow it’s space at some point –it’s already a little hectic when you first walk in, with servers and guests elbowing through to the main dining area. Even if just a vestibule of some sort was built, it would probably cut down on the claustrophobic feeling when you first walk in. A visit to the Cape is not complete without a visit to Abba!

I’ve been here twice and it’s definitely one of my favorite places on the cape. The décor is cute, the service was great, and the food is interesting and delicious. This time we started with the prawns as an appetizer and the zucchini cake it was served on was delicious. I wanted to lick the sauce in the bowl. For an entrée I have gotten thelbster pad Thai twice because it was so good. The shrimp and lobster are cooked perfectly and it’s just the right amount of spice. And finally we got the black rice pudding with coconut ice cream and fresh pineapple for dessert. GETTHISDESSERT. I’m sure the chocolate tart is also delicious but don’t do it! Get the pudding and then thank me later! Overall I will keep coming back. I didn’t have any issues with being rushed but the restaurant is tiny so I can see how that would happen. Definitely get a reservation before hand if you’re going during the summer vacation season.

My dinner at «Daddy’s» was definitely memorable! 3.7 stars. not quite deserving of a full 4, but special enough to stray away from 3. *i’m a complicated gal, ain’t i?* Not off the main road in Orleans, one wouldn’t know that great food lurks along an old country road, housed inside of an unassuming redone old house with a warm glow and nice touches of its interior, yet with barely enough room for all the patrons, staff, and chef to fit!!! Welcome to Abba, with high quality fare and a dining experience refined, albeit a bit be comfortable. some call it cozy… I thought it a very snug fit. Just watching the servers tromp up/down the narrow stairs(yes folks, the kitchen is in the basement! as is the coat check!) precisely where guests enter into the joint is a tiny bit disconcerting, I shall not lie. With a full day at the Cape Cod National Seashore, we thought we’d take a stab and called in Provincetown to see whether there were any openings for dinner that evening… ah yes. but ONE! 2030 available… Sure! we’ll take it!!! Drive down and make it with 15 minutes to spare. enter the aforementioned house/restaurant and was asked to wait outside… there simply wasn’t any space to wait. Small bar was full… that was a turn-off. for certain. Not that MA was snowing at this time of the year, but nippy and crisp were apropos adjectives! I was determined to go for a brisk walk in the dark and check out what other restaurants were nearby(answer: not any that were noteworthy). We ordered up a feast… a house bottle of chianti(pretty darn good!) accompanied for starters: the half dozen on the shell Wellfleet oysters(yes, again), so well known around here, shrimp, mussels, scallops… the oysters were supremely fresh, really great taste and buoyancy… we all loved very much. Scallops were small, lackluster for me. For entrees: Berkshire pork 28 Filet mignon 34 Rack of lamb 34 Special lobster pad thai 22? Service was just OK. Having experienced very cheerful attention and glad dispositions from other high-end restaurants, it just wasn’t here. Our server was doing a fine job, but didn’t have any personal touch. 2 entrees were fab… the pork, fall-off-the-bone smackalicious and silly as well as the rack of lamb. cooked perfectly. My pepper-crusted filet mignon was seasoned by one heavy-handed pepper eye and the muscle was… erm. .too dense. not enough velvety softness that is expected in a quality cut like a filet. We all tasted it and agreed with the majority of reviewers. skip the filet mignon. I think this place purchases an inferior cut or something… Apparently the sous is Thai? but the pad thai prepared was not special for us, who are so accustomed to well-cooked Asian food of any type. Pass on that as well… $ 220+ later, my extremely generous brother footed the tab and we all rolled out to our car to head back to Brewster. Probably one of the finer establishments in the area. if only they could have a larger place.
