Excellent place! A friend recommended it to us since we are new in town. It’s a quaint cape cod-ish style place that is a little more upscale. The entire menu looks delicious and the daily specials sounded just as good. We went for the Caesar salad and the cod daily special. The salad was huge and well worth the $ 10. The cod special was amazing — it was a huge piece of fresh cod cooked to perfection with a helping of tender rice and broccolini. The sauce on top was creamy but not too heavy and complemented the fish wonderfully. The service was great — Jasmine did a great job and was very sweet and attentive. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu!

This was my first visit in nearly 12 or more years. And not much has changed. Excellent food in a very warm, adorable setting. The bar is gorgeous and really inviting. The drink menu has some superb offerings and the wine list is solid. I recently had the Seafood Fra Diavlo and it was exceptional. The fried artichoke appetizer was really good too! It isn’t cheap, but good food rarely is.

Been back a couple of times since my original review and this place never disappoints. Food is always delish… wish they served the bacon wrapped scallops at dinner — they are outstanding… but the clams, salmon, scallops, even the steak is always great. Crowd skews older, which is not a bad thing at all, and if you can, grab a seat by the bar. It’s really energetic there and the service and friendly chatter from the bartender is great. Looking forward to my next visit!

Great little hidden gem! 2 in our group had the cioppino and said it was amazing! Huge portion, loads of seafood! The bread served to start was delicious on it’s own and even better dipped in the cioppino liquid! I had the ravioli which were some of the best I’ve EVER had. Final person in our party had the special steak and said it was devine. I can’t wait to go back and I recommend it to anyone looking for a truly good meal!

Delicious lobster sliders and beet salad!!! A quaint spot in Orleans. Beautiful exposed beams and cozy environment. Great for a date night, but not kid friendly…

The atmosphere was relaxed and low key. Everything we ordered from drink to food was phenomenal. The steamed clams were amazing, especially over linguine which was special ordered. They should probably just add that to the entrée menu.

The Beacon has been around a while and not necessarily on the beaten path but just off Rt. 6a. This is probably not your typical Cape restaurant. It’s a bit more quiet and formal and not particularly kid friendly. The crowd skews on the older side so if you’re not so young but you want to feel young this is a good place to go. If you’re looking to dine with 20-something hipsters this is not the place for you. But then again if you’re looking to eat where there aren’t hundreds of screaming kids on vacation then this place will work. The menu is pretty standard fare and not particularly adventurous but the food is usually pretty solid. My go-to is usually the fish tacos. They are non-traditional but very good. And you can get the cod pan-seared instead of fried if you want. They are a little spicy but not too bad. I skipped the appetizer because the portions here are pretty big. She had the chicken saltimbocca which is something I really hadn’t seen before. It was huge and I’m told pretty tasty. She also had a Caesar salad that was good and about the right size. On a Friday night in August we were able to call ahead and get in which is how we ended up here last night. We had eaten here in the past so we knew what we were getting. For dessert they didn’t have the bread pudding which is good and what I really wanted. They also on this night didn’t have cappuccino or espresso and no reason was given. Maybe the machine was broken or something. Wine list is very basic so don’t get too excited if you’re a wine snob. The prices here aren’t cheap but fair for a decent place on Cape Cod. And it’s open all year. If you’re looking for a nice place that might be just a bit stodgy you’ll do ok here. The food and service are generally solid.

Very pleasant experience! Sat at the bar, service was great and we enjoyed fish tacos and the dinner special of halibut — food was delicious, service excellent — definitely recommend The Beacon Room!

A pretty little restaurant with great food and service. I had a lobster pasta dish that had a healthy amount of lobster meat in it. The drinks were good and they don’t cheap on size. Give them a try when you are in the area.

We had never been here before, but we were looking for something different than typical fried seafood or burger type restaurants for lunch. It had good reviews on Unilocal,so we checked it out. The food and service were excellent. I had a delicious lobster salad sandwich on a croissant which was mostly lobster with very little mayo. My wife and I also split the Goronzola, walntut, and sun-dried cranberry salad tossed with field greens and house vinaigrette which was very good. Other dishes at our table which were good were the fishwich sandwich without the bread with tasty french fries and the curry chicken salad sandwich. We ended up eating in a room by ourselves, since all the other seating was taken. It was a brightly lit, pleasant room which was quiet and comfortable.(The only thing which could be improved by consulting with a decorator or design person was the art work which was a display of a variety of styles and abilities, and did not add much to the ambience.) When in the Orleans area of Cape Cod, if you are looking for a nice restaurant that has very good food, check out the Beacon Room.

We are here on vacation and we are so glad we did. We had the clam chowder, special and goat cheese crispinis for apps. Absolutely delicious! For dinner we had filet, chicken parm and it only got better as dinner went on! Great service, great food. Definitely a must try while vacationing in cape cod!

Beacon was recommended by our hotel staff, so we tried it tonight for dinner. My husband’s chicken saltimbucca with port wine reduction was very tasty. I started with the watermelon gazpacho,($ 5.50). Normally I love gazpacho, but this one, made, I think with rice vinegar, was way too much vinegar for absorbent, neutral watermelon. Tomato gazpacho can handle more acid, because there is a sweetness that counteracts the vinegar. Not so with melons. My pan fried cod had an anemic breading that didn’t adhere to the slightly undercooked cod. The cod itself seemed to be good quality, but would have been tastier with no bread crumb coating, which would have allowed the roasted corn and bell pepper relish and the arugula to compliment the fish. As it was, I tended to want more relish and wished I could just scrape off the coating from the fish. Our server was pleasant about me substituting mashed potatoes for the rice. I was thankful, because I used the potatoes to make the bread coating tolerable. The restaurant was a bit understaffed in this early season May, and the hostess had to cut short her greeting-seating to answer the phone. She was friendly, but too busy multi-tasking to give 100% attention to any of it. She actually managed it pretty well. I think if we visit again, I will try the spicy seafood combo, or maybe a starter of scallops, instead of a very mediocre, yet expensive($ 27) fish entrée. My husband did like the chicken though. I don’t eat chicken.

Returned here at Thanksgiving with a group of 13 people. Everyone loved their meals. Chicken parmesan, raviolis were faves. Service was tops.

What a beautiful little spot to enjoy a delicious meal on the Cape! We had a very enjoyable experience at the Beacon Room last night. Although they don’t typically accept reservations, they were able to reserve a table for our large party of eight. We did go early enough(5:30), which most likely facilitated this. The place itself is very quaint, with a smaller more intimate dining room and bar, and another room with more natural lighting. We were seated in the second room with the natural light, which was very nice. Our waitress was knowledgable and helpful as well. The menu isn’t overly huge, but the options are AWESOME! They offer some tasty appetizers, salads and main entrees. There is also a nice cocktail menu and wine list. It was hard to decide what to order because everything sounded so good! I ended up going with a Gorgonzola salad with walnuts and dried cranberries to start, followed by the 8 oz. filet with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My cousin got a beet salad and a pan seared sole with a curry sauce, which she said was delicious. Others ordered the chicken parmesan, chicken saltimboca and seafood fra diavlo. Everything was excellent! My one criticism of the food was that I ordered my steak to be cooked medium, and it came out medium well. Despite this, it was still very tender and delicious. Overall, a very excellent dinner! Everyone was pleased and left with a full stomach! Be sure to stop by if you’re in Orleans.

I can sum up our meal at the Beacon room in 1 word — tremendous. The chicken saltimbocca was perfect, the shrimp with polenta was succulent, the ambiance was great. This was truly the culinary highlight of our trip to the cape. Well done!

Had a great first time experience last week! The owner greets you at the door with a warm smile. The dishes were excellent an well prepared. Working in the industry I have a hard time finding spots I love! Just moved to Orleans & we can’t wait to go back!

When visiting the Cape in the off-season, it can be difficult to find a good place to wet your whistle. Determined to within a a small radius of our place of stay, we were steered in the direction of the Beacon Room. It’s adorable! A quaint setting within an house with history; it would be cramped if it weren’t for the open-floor design and the airy height of the exposed beam ceiling. Tables are dressed neatly, and you should be, too(I’d recommend dressing the part for this fine dining experience, otherwise you’ll feel like the ignorant out-of-towner). Surely this place is packed to the brim on summer nights, but our April visit yielded an opportunity to cosy up to the counter. The bar is small, but encourages close conversation and pushing your mingling comfort level. My order: Lemon-Cello martini; smooth, creamy, and classy. Like drinking in a lemon meringue pie. Our beverages were smooth, delicious, and strong(…and umm… pricy). We were sorry to have missed the kitchen on our visit, but this only fuels our anticipation for a lip-smacking return(brunch!!). The only negative: the hours. …who closes at 9:30p?!

The Beacon Room is one of the staple places in Orleans that’s perfect for a dinner with my parents — they have a solid menu that rarely changes and is very consistant, a good wine list and a decent bar. It’s always packed during the warmer months, as it’s known for being a reliably good place. I happen to love their pasta dishes — especially the fra diavlo or the house specialty pasta. They also have an out-of-this-world spinach salad with the most delicious candied walnuts — I swear those things are addictive! The back room is a plus for the summer — if you can get a table there, do it. The dining room can get warm as it’s not huge, although it is very cute with it’s exposed beams and large windows. Service is usually on-point, and the bartenders do a great job mixing a cocktail. Definitely worth checking out!
