Went there on a Friday night around 8pm and they close at 9pm. Employees rolled their eyes when walking in as to say another customer-and I watched them do this repeatedly to other customers walking in after me. Chairs were already up on tables, so that was not very welcoming since they were already preparing for shutting down for the night. Fries were half cooked. Rings had way too much batter on them. Cook cannot read orders very well when you specify no tomato on burger and yet a big olé slimy tomato was on burger. I am assuming owners son, but not sure, could have been an employees son, was in there talking trash and was loud and obnoxious ordering food telling his mother behind the counter that she was paying for it all. I didn’t go to B&W last year as I did not have a good experience there 2 years ago and the prices had increased with the food quality decreasing. Decided to give it another try and still not satisfied. Will be passing by while on my way someplace to eat.

We had a burger and onion rings, fish and chips last night and both were tops! Fries really are wonderful. Staff is friendly and this is a perfect summertime casual dining destination. Prices are definitely fair, good value for the money!

We just ate here. it was just ok. For $ 6.50, although pretty yummy, the steak and cheese should be better size. My husbands chili on his chili dog and chili cheese fries was barely warm, bordering on cold. We would also recommend they use homemade chili not canned store bought. For nearly $ 17.00, what we got was not anything that would make us want to go back.

This place is roadside snack bar and creemee perfection. Substantial burgers and great fries with a solid creemee for dessert. Look, there are good creemee stands in VT and there are bad ones. In my experience, bad creemee stands have mediocre food, high prices for what you get, and small creemees that aren’t cold/firm enough. B&W is the opposite of all of those things. The bill was about 30% less than I thought it would be, the place was immaculately clean, the burger was a real-deal burger with good stuff on it, and the maple creemee I had was firm and cold, weighed about a pound, and tasted terrific. Worth a trip if you are anywhere within 30-miles of this place.

We have friends in Burke and Newport. Have traveled this road many times. B & W is a great stop! It’s seasonal. Try the buffalo burger!

So freakin gross, wow that is the worst garbage I’ve seen sold over the counter in a long time. Absolute garbage.

The B & W Snack bar is a summer place housed in an old garage. It sits on Rt 5 south of the village of Orleans, VT. It has traditional american fare like hot dogs, hamburgers, hand cut fies(hand cut and fried to order. and you can watch them run each potato through a old potato press on the wall). french Quebec poutine, ice cream, and all the fried goodness. I enjoyed a buffalo burger last time and it was great! I like picnic tables outside and the nice field out back so my dog could run and play. There are inside tables too. It is counter service only, and they call your number when it is ready. It is definatly worth the stop if you are headed through on I 91.
