One of the worst burritos I’ve ever had. Ordered a carne asada super burrito and ended up getting a rice burrito. It was 8 bucks for a 70% flavorless rice and 7% beef burrito. The tacos were decent though

A long time ago a Hispanic friend said you can judge a Mexican restaurant by their salsa. Well well well, what a delightful surprise to have the bestest freshest homemade pico salsa in a very long time! It was incredibly great! The chips were fresh too! I had a Tostada salad with a generous portion of chicken. Everything was perfect down to the crisp shell.(Another restaurant in town has soggy rancid shells but NOTHERE!). The owner was nice and we received our food promptly. Where this place looses a star, is the walls next to the table were a tad dirty as well as the salt shaker and napkin holder. A tad more pride in cleanliness would bump this place up to 5 stars. I totally shall return here!

Terrible service, I waited 25 minutes for my burrito and they don’t even make it right

This has to be the worst taqueria food I’ve ever had and I’ve lived in a number of cities and towns with large Mexican populations. The order was incorrect and we didn’t discover it until we got it home(and had to go back). Got beef and chicken enchiladas with green sauce. The meat on both tasted like it had been cooked days before and warmed up and the sauce was straight out of a can. The beans were underdone and had hard bits even after mashing them for refried. Plus everything was salty. Not just a little salty — a lot salty. I wouldn’t even bother with this place again. Go to Papacitos and get food to go if you need a fast meal. Its much better.

While this is still our go-to spot for huge burritos, I must admit the quality of service and food has gone down a bit over the past few years. The indifferent teens that have been staffing it lately are kind of «ho-hum» about service, and the food quality seems to be moving more to the side of the fillers, rather than the primary meat selection. Part of my routine is to enjoy a certain beer with my food when eating in. This has always been consistent for years now but lately I’ve found that beer may not be available(it is a common and mainstream bottled product, and never an issue before, so it seems someone is just dropping the ball so to speak) It is still an OK place food wise and I can still recommend it, but I often find myself wishing it was still at the level it previously was.

Taqueria Maria’s has excellent burritos! The super burrito is HUGE so go with the smaller one unless you have a very big appetite. I like the chile verde filling the best.

Great staff very friendly. Great food. My favorite is the Chile Relleno burrito. I ask for it hot and it is nice and spicy. Good tacos. Cheap too. I love this place.

Great burritos! Been going here for years. Food got bad for a minute but have dramatically improved since then.

This used to be my favorite restaurant, as my family and I have been coming here for more than 15 years. The service used to be very family oriented and inviting;my order was always memorized by the familiar faces behind the counter. The enchilada sauce, as described in another review, was unlike any other I’ve tasted. So good. But in the past year or so, the service has sadly gone downhill. There is always someone new behind the counter, usually a high school aged kid with an attitude who can never get my order right, nor treat me like I know what I’m talking about. Really wish some of the original family members were still working here, but I understand that times change. =/

I love this quaint, little place. Every time I’m in town I have to stop for a meal here. The service is fast and friendly and you really get a great sense of family when you come here. Although they could really stand to give the joint a deep cleaning, and the location isn’t the best, but the food is amazing and very cheap!

This place is a hit or miss. I been here and have good service and decent food. Not as good as my grandmother made it but decent. The last time I went there was only one couple there and I ordered my food to go. There was only a middle aged man there who was mostly interested in talking to the couple at the table. I ordered chicken taquitos with everything on them. When I got home, I discovered they were completely burnt! I was too tired to go back and get it fixed. I was pretty upset.

I love Taqueria Maria’s and must have their enchiladas every time I visit Oroville! It’s a small, family run taqueria with good service and they make everything fresh daily. My family has been coming here for many years(Over 15 yrs) and I frequently ate here for lunch when in high school and worked downtown. It gets packed at lunch and dinner hours and they have a lot of take out orders as well! Despite how busy it is during lunch hour, they manage well to get everyone served and out the door. Their fresh, homemade enchilada sauce is much like a mole w/cocoa and cinnamon. Each time I’ve had it the spiciness is different, ranging from mild to hot. It’s hard to describe the taste, you must experience it for yourself, it’s delicious! I have searched the Bay Area for enchilada sauce as good as theirs and cannot find anything even close! Everything I’ve had here is good since it’s fresh made daily from burritos to tacos and everything in between! Love the chips & fresh made salsa as well. Their combination plates are a good deal and their rice & beans always consistently good! Highly recommend as some of the best Mexican food in Oroville!

Standard taqueria burrito on the edge of town. Tasty meat with a bit too much rice and beans. What made it for me was the mariachi guitar players that were practicing there while I waited for my food.
