Love this place. Wish they had better hours but the food is delicious and affordable. Quick tasty option for lunch.

I have been going there since the day they opened and there food has always been good. But i must say that is no longer the case. the amount of meats chicken beef and especially the shrimp has been cut in half. the size of the shrimp in the war wanton was nice now there small and some of the original ingredients are missing. The house fried was was fantastic with nice pieces of chicken and beef now its all chopped up into tiny tiny pieces. Now i ordered it a few weeks ago and drove all the way form Kelly Ridge and returned it. Keep with your original plans don’t be chincey charge more and continue putting out good food

New review: their customer service has gone downhill. Very rude people. Plus they didn’t even pass the health check last year.

Uncle pings food is good, you can’t go wrong to anything you try. The pot sticker is the boom, definitely recommend to all & try it.

I want to just say this was the best sweet and sour chicken and cream cheese potstickers I’ve had in a long time. Excellent and efficient service.

Uncle Ping’s is a good place to eat americanized chinese food! The people working are very nice and helpful! A local told me about this place and I am glad they did. I ordered the Egg Foo Yung and Prawn Chop Suey to go. The food was very fresh and hot as expected. The egg foo yung was large and the gravy/sauce was not greasy nor overwhelming as some places fix. The chop suey was ok but not great. Lots of bean sprouts and had other meats(pork, chicken) in the dish along with shrimp. I would try another choice and probably will during my work related visits to Oroville CA.

The homemade pot stickers are twice the size of regular pot stickers and they are amazing.

And I’m never going back. The older man who typically hovers uncomfortably over diners in the tiny dining room turns vicious rude if they are busy… & with that attitude, I suspect they won’t be having that particular problem for long ;) Seriously, the man flipped out, yelling and flailing his arms at people who were politely waiting to order. I walked out without ordering and will never return, clearly they don’t want my money.

The good here is simply delicious, I will start with the inevitable comparison to tong fong low, in my opinion pings serves the Beyer food but you will get better service at tong fong low. I have tried a wide variety of the food at pings some of the notably delicious things are salt and pepper pork cod, szechuan pork, princess chicken, broccoli beef, honey walnut shrimp, as well as very good grief rice and chow mein. They are a family run business abd have always been friendly and attentive. Now for another comparison to tong fong low, the fried foods is better and less greasy at pings especially pings delicious egg rolls. The restaurant is very small abd does not offer cousin drinks they do have soft drinks but they are sold by the can. They also do not have there own restrooms how ever they’re are public restrooms right across the street so make sure to bring some hand sanitizer Overall I give it 5 stars because the food is that good, especially compared to the always good but unspectacular tong fong low. In summation give this spot a try and try something your unfamiliar with, you don’t have to get orange chicken everywhere you go do you? P. s. avoid the stream table Monday-Friday although the prices are cheap the food is served buffet style abd loses some of its freshness always better to order off the menu

I really don’t get what all of the positive reviews are about. I tried this place once with a friend, and we both left with our plates almost untouched. The food tasted old, had no flavor, and looked like something you would make out of the microwave. I will never go back. Stick with Tong fong low right around the corner.

I am not really an Asian foody but this is great food. I love the chow mein and the salt and pepper pork chops are unique and delicious. Lunch special is great and owner is very friendly. Down side is its small and the kitchen is out in the open which can be a little off putting and I don’t think the have a bathroom which kinda sucks when your on your lunch. They also do not have fountain drink just cans which I don’t really care for.

Their food is panda express quality and style. Its not the best I’ve had but its okay for a quick in and out. BIG problem is that I am always super tired after lunch when I eat here. It makes it really hard to work. Even if I don’t eat carbs. I don’t know what is in the food but don’t eat here if you have to work another few hours. Keep it for the weekend or days off.

I have eaten here on many occassions, and have always been pleased. The first time, I ate here with my boyfriend, parents, and sister. We didn’t think we ordered as much as we did, our table was overflowing with dishes! It was all good, too. I am a picky eater, and only like a few Chinese food items. I really like their chicken corn chowder(like mom makes, it’s so good), chicken chow mein, and sweet & sour sauce. I don’t know if they make their own s&s, but it’s good. BF has had salt & pepper fish, fried prawns, princess chicken, and egg foo young. He has liked it all. We try different things sometimes, but these are things we keep getting. There is no bathroom, and the place is small, but every single time we step in the door, we are greeted quickly and with a smile. I would argue that we have actually had better food here than at TFL. And so far, the service is great too.

They have Big Prawns eight to a order, food is good. Only downside is no restroom in the restaurant you got to go out side and down to the corner and use public ones. That is why it gets four not five stars.

I’ve noticed that everyone has their own idea of what«good» Chinese food is, including my Chinese friends, so this review is specific to my «taste». What is my taste? I like my chinese-style food more pan-asian — fresh vegetables that accent the food without simply being«filler», easy on the oil/grease, easy on the salt, tasty sauces, light breading, etc. I don’t like leaving a chinese restaurant feeling like the food is a brick in my stomach, but some people do. If you like your chinese-style food some other way, then ignore this review ;) I’ve not found a dish yet that I didn’t like. My preferences are: The orange chicken and the kung pao are good. I’m partial to the mandarin beef, which is very very tender with a subtle sauce and served with fresh lettuce leaves and puffed rice noodles. The pepper fish is excellent. Very light and fresh! As for the restaurant itself: The décor is nothing special, It is clean, including the washrooms. It is run by a multi-generational family. Everyone is very friendly. Parking is on the street or a large lot on the east side of the restaurant.

Great service with a smile. The prices are very good for the portion sizes you get. But I just can’t love it like I wanted to. We have eaten here many times and we will definitely eat here again. I’ve found the things we’ve tried are either great or meh. The lemon sauce on the lemon chicken is amazing but I’m not a fan of it being served as a single breast, fried and sliced and sauce added. It ended up soggy, not at all crispy and the breading slides off. The General chicken sauce should be a hot and spicy but Pings is kinda boring. Not quite hot and not sweet at all, just very salty. I’m not a fan of spicy food but this is a dish I enjoy nearly everywhere. The fried rice was decent but the pork egg foo young was meh. So its not a bad place. I’m very interested in trying many more of their extended menu options and I would choose this place over tong fong lo any day.

Cute little resteraunt right in the center of town. After reading the good reviews I was excited to try this somewhat new chinise eat out. When I first walked in it was very small, and had 3 tables seated. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I was looking for a real dim sum chinise kind of meal, and staff gave options saying that to serve dim sum once every other weekend would be possible if ordered in advanced. That was extremely sweet of them considering they would really go the distance to better service their customers and be able to deliver what we needed. Extra star for that :)) I ordered 2entrees and a half order of chow mein and fried rice. The food tasted pretty fresh and were very large portions. I had even taken left overs home and served two teenage boys. Overall I’m very happy with my first experince here, and wil gladly be back soon.

Uncle Pings opened in the small building that has been the home to a few other restaurants in the past behind the old City of Paris building(Now the DA’s office). Their claim is to have fresh, homemade Chinese food. It is nice to have another option to the Oroville institution, Tong Fong Low, even though I will always continue to eat there. Love the fact that they offer fast, take away food that’s out during the lunch hour to get patrons on a time crunch quickly fed and out the door. However, other take out order times must be improved upon if they want repeat business. My family ordered takeout over the phone and was quoted 45 minutes! That is too long and when all was said and done, it took 1 hour 5 minutes before our food was ready to leave with! They were apologetic and stated they’d received a huge to go order prior to ours. I understand they just opened and are working out the new business jitters, but that is not an acceptable time for take out to be ready! People will not wait that long or just won’t come back. However, I am very happy to report that the food was really good and fresh, although had to be microwaved at home. White meat chicken was used and only good cuts were in the dishes. No mystery meat pieces I’ve seen used at other Chinese restaurants. Friends report the soups, especially the War Wonton are very delicious, especially on the cold nights we’ve had lately! We ordered: EGGROLLS VEGETABLEEGGFOOYOUNG MIXEDSAUTEEDVEGETABLES SHRIMP W/LOBSTER SAUCE LEMONCHICKEN CHICKENCHOWMEIN One disappointment was that no rice was sent w/the order-not sure if they forgot or if we needed to order this separately. Lately, I’ve encountered this at many Asian restaurants. I wish they’d tell you so you know as there are dishes that really need to be served over rice. My personal feeling is that rice should always be included, not be an additional charge. Prices were reasonable for being of homemade quality and decent portions of food served. Take out was packed w/care and expensive plastic containers were used for the saucier dishes/soups. We even reused them for other food storage! This was very appreciated as it’s a bummer to have food spill and make a mess in your car. Overall, we really liked Uncle Pings and will order again.
