Los Pino’s

So the first thing you need to know is this place is family run. They didn’t go to school for this. Obviously they are passionate about what they do and the product they provide. Service can vary based on many factors but I have never been treated rudely. Your business is always genuinely appreciated. Food is consistantly good if you are looking for standard Mexican fare. Not too much originality or inspiration on the menu. One highlight that I do not see offered anywhere else is the camarones aprelatados which is basically a bacon wrapped crab stuffed shrimp with mushrooms and there delicious garlic butter sauce. Prices are reasonable given the rural locale and cost of food delivery to this area but may seem a bit high to people not understanding what it takes to run a successful restaurant in a small town. Décor is pretty standard for a traditional Mexican restaurant of this region and the place can be pretty loud on the weekends due to larger dinner parties. If your in Orting, and you have a hankering for some Mexican fare. You can’t go wrong by stopping here.

I have grown up eating here and can’t wait to go back every chance I get. I’m a sucker for their carne Asada, it is the best Carne Asada I have ever had! Their portions are very generous and they have amazing rice and beans that comes side to I’m pretty sure most dishes on the menu. The price is reasonable, the staff is very friendly and the service is quick, but relaxed! I would highly recommend eating here!

I love Los Pinos. We go here to eat at least 5 times a month. Sometimes, twice a week. I’m originally from New Mexico, and was raised on Mexican food. Los Pinos has a great variety of delicious, authentic dishes. I am a sucker for Chile Colorado, and here they hit the flavors right on the head. They do not skimp on portion sizes for the price either. I’m truly picky about where I get any food from, particularly mexican food. So Los Pinos is by far my number one choice in the Puyallup/​Orting area.
Great service to the front of house staff. And major compliments to the chefs.

NOT VEGETARIAN RICE!
Even though on the menu it said vegetarian burrito, I’ve now been informed they put chicken stock in their rice.
Very sad and disappointed I was lied to all this time.
I used to check in all the time and they knew my order I was the «dutchess» but now I won’t return. I choose to live a vegan lifestyle and now I’m so hurt that I was unknowingly consuming animal products in disguise of a cruelty free option.

I devoured the beef tamale I got. However, the chimichanga had very little taste. Like taco beef and tostada shell. Loved the rice though. Will be back to try more things. Oh chips were good too.

Used to go here and enjoy the best choice in town. Tonight was disappointing. They were super busy which tells me the food is usually good or better than the other food in town… Not a high bar… the fish taco description is «sliced buttered white fish with cabbage and cilantro». See photo, HA! They had to literally scrape the crust out of a pan to get what they fed me. Waiter was scarce I think because i asked his recommendation before ordering it. When I pointed out the obvious he acted like he didn’t understand. There have been some clear changes here that don’t make me want to return. I’ll make the trek to puyallup or sumner or Bonney lake next time.

Nailbanger Here Again;The Title of this review say‘s it all. How this was rated by other Reviewers as Top Notch I simply can not understand? First what is positive. They have updated the seating and décor. They offer the first bowl os chip and salsa complimentary. My wife ordered a House Margarita and it was the Highlight of the Dinner. A Jumbo Margarita will only set you back $ 8.50.For the food it is pretty Blah. The best part was the Rice & Bean although they could have done a better job at that also. I did not care for their shredded beef at all. I ordered the chimichanga and it was as far as eye appealing a big fat zero. This is just not what I am looking for in Authentic Mexican Cuisine. The Parking can be a challenge at time. You Decide?

They charge for chips! Nuff said!

I was extremely impressed with tonight’s service. I had an incredible piña colada, their homemade colada mix is amazing. And their shredded chicken inside their dishes is amazing. Very flavorful. Fast service. Sweet waitress. My boyfriend and I were both impressed and surprised with this restaurant. We will definitely be back.

We went here today for my birthday. It was brunch and there was 20 of us. We went for the brunch buffet. The food was great and everyone there was really friendly. I did find it kind of strange that they post if you don’t finish the food on your plate you get charged extra. Also you only receive one basket of chips and have to pay $ 1 more for refills. Since there was 20 of us there were 4 baskets total but who doesn’t go through more then one basket of chips. Over great food and friendly staff. I’d try them again. This was my first time there.

It’s pretty sad that the people of Washington have no idea what Great Mexican food is bc it does not exist in the area. 4 stars… really? My cafeteria at work serves better food than this… sad sad SAD! BEST thing on the menu are the free chips. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I have eaten here many times as I live in Orting — I have never received exceptional service and have grown accustomed to such, but tonight’s experience was the worst I have experienced yet so far. I was with a group of 6 people and trying to get service from our server (Cynthia) was tough to say the least. On top of the lack of service our food took forever to be brought out — somewhere in the neighborhood of 45 minutes. Everyone got their food and I proceeded to wait for mine another 15 minutes (a carne asada burrito — not the most difficult dish to make). As an attempt to make up for the slow service and food Cynthia brought a free desert — a deep fried tortilla with chocolate sauce that looked disgusting… Are you kidding me? I ate none of the free cheap desert and expected a drink or at least my meal on the house, but nothing was offered. The kicker is their new iPad pay system where they run your card and then sit there in front of you as they push the iPad in your face with preloaded tip amounts — I chose custom tip because my overall experience sucked. I won’t be coming back here anytime soon and really suggest you stay clear.

It was good food, we really enjoyed it. How can you not enjoy shrimp wrapped in bacon? Yum! We also enjoyed the carne asada, cooked med rare just like i asked.

I don’t know how this place got so many good reviews. My enchiladas, my rice and my beans were all room temp or colder. Asked them for hot food. They brought my plate back out a few minutes later and it was the same exact temperature. My boyfriend’s Arroz con pollo had so much tomato sauce it was more like Italian food than Mexican food. Ordered sour cream and guacamole for my enchilada and she said it was just going to cost a little bit more. I should have asked how much because it was $ 5. Just bad all around.

I started going to Los Pinos when I moved to Orting, WA in 2011. I met my girlfriend there and we’ve both been eating and drinking at Los Pinos for years. We consider Clementine and her extended family like our own. Everyone is always friendly and we even have a favorite booth (where we met) that we sit in.
The food is always fresh and delivered quickly and we love the friendly casual atmosphere. If you live in Orting there aren’t a lot of restaurant choices so we’re fortunate to have Los Pinos. If you’re in the area, pay them a visit, you’ll be glad you did. We love our Los Pinos family!

This would had been a 5 star until the man playing the guitar walked into the bar and reached over and started eating oranges out of the bar serving compartment /​caddy straight from playing the guitar and shaking people’s hands. I could be wrong but I think the health department wouldn’t be happy. The food was great as well as the service but that makes me worry about the sanitation in the back.

I’m not a big fan of Mexican food, but Los Pinos has always been impressive. I’ve been there a dozen times, and every meal I’ve had has been outstanding. I especially love the marinated beef. always moist and flavourful. the service can be a bit lacking, at times, but they are always friendly. Overall, one of my favorites.

The owner is a very nice lady, she got our drinks for us. We went on a busy Saturday afternoon, the waiter was rushed and not very attentive. The food was very good, and the Margaritas were as well. Great atmosphere.

We just moved to Orting from Oregon and were very excited to try this restaurant. However, I am sad to say that we tried three times and all three times the service was bad. No refills on chips or drinks. It took a very long time to get your food and when you have no chips to snack on, that can be hard on kiddos. The food was good and if there was better service we would try again. Like I said we tried THREE times all three times it was like this. We won’t be going back. I grew up in a Mexican restaurant and understand things happen or there can be an off night, but from what I saw there was no reason for this. I am not trying to plug my parents restaurant they retired in 2013. Try it if you want just be ready to wait and wait.

I have frequented Los Pinos with my wife. We love the food, service and atmosphere. Most of all we love the owner mama Clementina. We refer our friends to eat there all the time.
