This was an enjoyable experience that I will let the people of the area know about. The food was prepared with care and favor. The waiter had class as well as kindness.

The food here is always good. Don’t ever pass up the St Croix Chicken Soup. It is spicy and served hot and is wonderful. The spinach salad is a great pairing with this. My husband had the roast beef sandwich. Also very good. The mango iced tea is always a refreshing pleasure. We love this place and come often. Jeff, your server, is also a plus. Come often, so worth it.

Much improved since our initial visit several years ago. The items that were good are still on the menu and others have been added that are even better. The excellent mango tea is still a staple, and it now arrives in huge tumblers so there’s no running out midway through the meal. They’ve added a new side, a four bean salad thing that is so delicious you’ll sneak to make sure that no one is looking so you can lick the dish. The Maui Cristo sandwich is an tasty tropical twist on a classic; their wraps are huge, fresh and filling. It still retains it’s charm of location and now has a small outdoor seating area too. There is always a single waiter, the same gentleman from 3 years ago. He knows the menu and has efficient service down to an art form. As chains and corporate restaurants overtake the lake area, I think it’s important to remember to patronize the local places. Bahama Bistro has turned into a little gem that’s worthy of a lunch visit on your next trip to the lake.

We did return. .. for lunch with friends on New Year’s Eve 2011. Almost two years later I can’t remember what I had for lunch that day — I’m sure it was delicious — but I do remember having a heart attack as we were finishing. Bahama Bistro is a great location for cardiac trouble. We drove next door to Lake Regional — which specializes in hearts — where I was admitted and underwent triple bypass on New Year’s Day. Three weeks later I was wheeled out of ICU. If you’re planning a New Year’s lake getaway and heart attack, I can’t think of a better location than Bahama Bistro. You’ll hit the OR with a good lunch in your belly.
