My boyfriend thought this should be a contender for diners, drive-ins and dives. Had the plantation wrap with aside of jalepeno cheddar grits. So yummy! Many more things I’d like to try! Nice fire outside and a great patio.

Spoiler Alert — My experience was about as bad as it comes… We arrive at about 8:06, and sat by 8:19. That’s not bad, considering it was Shootout weekend on a Saturday. We ordered at 8:22. It was a very simple order, a burger and fries, and a wrap. Fast forward to about 9:16 is when our food finally came out. The server in-between these times came by twice. I asked for water both times, and she finally dropped it back by around 10 – 15 minutes after each request. As I look over my burger that has taken what feels like a week to prepare, I notice a few things. First, the cheese isn’t even melted… 2nd the burger was supposed to come with Jalapenos. There was 2 normal size slices on there, and one small end slice. That is pretty damn weak. Lastly the burger was way overcooked, and clearly been sitting under a lamp for a very long time. It was as dry as a desert, and as cold as eskimo toes. My fries were also not even luke warm, and actually seemed rubbery/stale. When I tried to break them in half, they just would bend, and not snap like you would expect. Talk about GROSS! The server knew my disgust, and comped the burger. That was nice, but it was too little too late. She should have comped the whole meal, and offered a manager to come over to discuss my meal and to apologize. Luckily, Sarah’s meal was at least hot, but she said it lacked any kind of real flavor. All in all, this was my 2nd worst meal at LOTO I have ever had. I definitely won’t be back, and I advise you to try pretty much anywhere else…

Great spot on the water: live music, good drinks and beer menu, and excellent burgers, wings, and sides. Overall, a great spot for lunch or dinner after a day on the water.

Excellent atmosphere and great music. However our waitress was awful and the food was so so. I am aware it was a busy night for them and I am sure our experience is not the standard but it took 20 minutes to get our water and soda after being seated. I ordered the Alligator Balls(basically jalapeño poppers) the prosciutto had a texture more like uncooked bacon, the jalapeño was mushy and the entire order was cold. When I told the waitress she said«well I guess if you want I can take it back» but by the time she finally made it back to our table our group was done eating and we wanted to get back to our hotel. Then she messed up our bills by adding 2 of our groups orders onto my bill. Again, great place, crummy waitress.

Great food, atmosphere we enjoyed the Live band. Had the jambalaya(extra dirty) and it was good as well as a great portion. GF had catfish sandwich which I tried and it was great as well. Only dissapointment was that the bottled beers were not cold. We will go back!

I found this restaurant after an office conference and ate with a party of 22. They handled us expertly and the food was surprisingly good. I had the jambalaya with cornbread which tasted great. The service was exceptional. Would recommend and will return.

Shorty Pants is one of our favorite spots on the lake. We love the atmosphere and the food. The drinks are perfect for lakeside flip flops! Great service and the kids love to throw the leftovers over the deck railing and watch the swarming carp and ducks go after it.

Food was excellent, atmosphere excellent, ownership/management totally SUCK!!! My husband and I both tried to give our server Zoe praise to them. Both owners one male, one female were extremely pompous and showed no humility what so ever. Their comments to us about the praise we gave was this: Zoe ought to be good, she’s been here a few years now and that’s why she gets the good shifts. Both said rudely like we were bothering them. Here is my comment to the owners. Pull your head out of your ass, be polite to your patrons or you won’t have a business. Word travels fast. A little humility goes a long way.

Food was decent and the staff was really nice. The drinks were good and the lake side ambiance is really why you go. We went back for the live music the following evening and it was a good time. We would go back.

I had the shrimp po boy which was amazing! The outside view was amazing and the place wasn’t that crowded. My man had the jambalaya which was great with corn bread. I had a hurricane drink it was okay. And he had the lemonade beverage. I liked his better. The parking would be hard if there would have been a bunch of people there. I would come here again. Our waitress offered suggestions and she was really nice.

Not one thing flavor wise on the menu was bad! Kaitlyn the waitress was top notch! One problem was that the food came out cold… We told her and she brought us more French fries which were also cold… Family all agrees we will be back

Been here three times now. The food has always been very good. Love the rice and beans signature side. The blackened Cajun catfish blt is great. The chicken nachos and the ahi tuna salad good choices too. Always busy always good service. Drinks all mixed just right, consistently. And the entertainment, well come find out how good it is.

The creole quesadilla appetizer was delicious and the serving was entrée-sized. Filled with shrimp, crawfish and andouille, topped off with peppers. Will come back just got this. Boyfriend had jambalaya and thought it was great. I thought it was too salty, so beware of salt.

You don’t expect the quality of food to be this good at a joint like this. I’ve been thoroughly impressed with each visit here. The jambalaya is delicious. Their fried jumbo shrimp is delicious and they butterfly it. They have great Cajun food with a plethora of choices. They’ve got a decent kids menu and some non-creole choices for adults. If I’m in the area, I’m eating here.

Shorty Pants is an awesome place to come enjoy great food and a great scene at the lake. The food is phenomenal… one of the only places at the lake to get gourmet level cajun food. There’s something for everyone there. The wings are amazing(see also their sister restaurants Wobbly Boots and Dog Days… seriously, the original smoked wings are the BEST wings I’ve ever had!). The Spinach Artichoke dip is amazing for a starter. The Chicken New Orleans and the VooDoo Chicken are my favorite cajun dishes… followed very closely by the Dirty Jambalaya. If cajun isn’t your thing… Try the Ahi Tuna salad, the Asiago Chicken sandwich, Shrimp BLT, or their burgers are even amazing. Children are more than welcome and it is a very family friendly bar/restaurant, but remember parents… it is a bar too. So if you are not wanting your kiddos to see the summer boaters enjoying a nice cold beer or drink, this might not be the place for your family. But I can definitely say lunch and early dinner are more than appropriate for kids to be part of. Kids LOVE to feed the ginormous fish that hoover just right below the deck waiting for thrown fish food… or since the food is so superb they love anything you toss over the rail to them. French fries included! The White Party… another awesome reason to visit SPL… first Tuesday in June. They transform the restaurant into a Vegas style party covered in white. Awesome DJs and music fill the space and everyone looks super sharp in head to toe white attire. And they even have a photographer on site to make you feel like a superstar on the red(white) carpet! And SPL has AMAZING drinks! Try the Mojito… it is the best in town. The Lake staple Pain in the A$$ is phenomenal on a hot summer’s day! They have a wide variety of cold bottled beers and a pretty full bar for you to choose from. And of course make sure you have a Vegas Bomb or two because those are amazing. SPL also has great music on weekend nights throughout the summer too. You can hear local talent and enjoy the outdoor fireplace when those summer nights get a little chilly! The staff is super friendly and really wants you to have the best experience. These servers bust their butts to get you everything you want and work very long shifts in the summer heat and still manage to do it with a smile! And the kitchen staff is a well oiled machine. When you have such great food, and it takes time to actually cook it and not just whipped it out of a microwave and the entire restaurant is busy… it takes some time to get your food. But you can tell the staff is working diligently to get to you as soon as they can. Over all Shorty Pants Lounge is Amazing!

There were so many great things about this place I don’t even know where to begin. Eating on the water there were loads of huge carp in the water wanting to be fed and ducks to watch. That was really neat. The shrimp po boy was awesome. The jumbo shrimp were so good and so were the fries. The mudslide was seriously the best mudslide I have ever had and I have been craving one every day since. Service was good. They said food was spicy but it didn’t seem that way to me. The cheese grits were pretty good. Anyway, I would come back here again for that mudslide in a heartbeat.

I have been meaning to write this review for quite some time, but haven’t found the time until now! Despite my overall rating, I would like to say that their food is typically decent with large portions. I can’t say that the authenticity is there in regard to «Creole» but it is good… I especially recommend the crab cake pasta. I used to get that all the time, until… This past summer(2012), I drove to Shorty Pants for an early lunch on the lake. This place does have a great, quite lake view. It was about 11am on a Sunday and there were only two tables in the place. I live about 25 minutes from Shorty Pants, and I hate the drive… Having been there plenty of times before, I always loved that I could bring my 12 lbs VERYWELL behaved Cairn Terrier. So on this Sunday, I did. Until the«Manager» Ashley Tune came over to tell me that I needed to leave as they don’t allow dogs. I explained that I have been there plenty of times with my dog and this was never the case AND on their website it says dogs are allowed… I also mentioned my hour round trip to have an EARLY lunch at their restaurant. She demanded that I leave and exclaimed«We have the right to change the policy whenever we feel like it.» So professional right? Needless to say, we have never returned. In my line of work, I entertain. I can say that between my fiancé and I, we sent or personally took numerous clients there… They easily lost hundreds of dollars weekly due to this mishap… FOLLOWUP: if you are wondering where we ended up going, we randomly stumbled upon Larry’s on the Lake in Camdenton… We had to drive an extra 15 minutes, but they welcomed us with doggy treats and a water bowl. They also shared the days they have doggy days at the restaurant. I will review them next!
