Lake of the Ozarks still remains my husband and my favorite getaway. We stayed here as a result of our timeshare exchange program. It was a weeklong trip away from the hustle and bustle of Chicago and the working world. On site, they had a boat marina, fishing, fireplace, lake for you to go boating or just enjoy the atmosphere, along with an outdoor pool to swim in, a club house with very friendly staff and a fully equipped exercise room, as well. Our one bedroom was well furnished to a full kitchen, and a lovely balcony that overlooked the lake that had a grill for us to make our dinner. We discovered the local grocery store and the Super Walmart and actually, we didn’t eat out the whole week — we spent about $ 100 on groceries and just grilled/cooked at home the whole time. Nearby, they had horse back riding, boat rentals, bicycle trails and rentals, tennis, scuba diving, waterskiing, etc. We found ourselves exploring some caves, as well. I won’t lie but my husband discovered the Osage Beach outlets that were less than a mile away and we found ourselves there three times in a week. I can’t help it if the man likes to shop. Overall, we had a pleasant time and it was a nice break from city living.
