Lowe’s Home Improvement

I have mixed feelings about this store. On the one hand, they have a decent selection of many items — we got some great curtain rods here, and picked up an assortment of random stuff for our house shortly after we moved in. Returns and exchanges have been a snap, since the customer service staff is so darn friendly (fresh from Memphis, I just can’t get used to that!), even with awkward items like 8 foot fluorescent light bulbs.
On the other hand… we attempted to shop for some appliances here, and it was quite frustrating. Most of the displayed items had tags indicating that next day delivery was available; however, the guy who was helping us admitted that the delivery crew was a bit behind, so it would be more like 3 weeks. Not what I wanted to hear when I just bought and moved into a house with world’s worst appliances! Pricing and availability was also a bit dodgy, and overall it was difficult to imagine actually making such a large purchase when they seemed so disorganized.
Overall this store is perfectly adequate, so if I have coupons or gift cards, I’d definitely come back, but otherwise, I’ll be at Menards up the street.
