Staples

I can’t quite put my finger on it, but there’s something about this store that makes it look like it’s closed. Every time I park and walk to the front doors, I’m thinking «Are they really open??» Inside is reasonably nice, typical warehouse feel for Staples. Signage is hit or miss — it took me a while to find the magazine holders — and while they have more variety than Target, they don’t seem to stock more than about 3 of anything. On a recent trip, an employee checked in the back for me, determined that the 2 listed in inventory were somehow missing, and offered to order them for me. Well, uh, I have this thing called the internet, so the only reason I got dressed and came to a store was because I wanted it now…
Honestly, it’s not that great. Sometimes they have what I need and sometimes they don’t, so I may as well just order on Amazon instead.

Portable scanner time. I was looking at the Neat Scanner (desktop and portable). I got home only to realize that I had already purchased the portable. The service was OK. I was quickly greeted. The store seemed a bit understocked and that’s the reason for giving it 3 stars.
