Alberto’s Restaurant

This is the classiest restaurant in O-​Town and perfect for a hot date night. The food is inventive, and always prepared to perfection. And I’ve dined here a LOT. I love that they give you crayons to draw on the table while you wait for your food. Also love the black light ambiance. Well I hear this place will be closing, and I’m saddened. The last thing our fair village needs is another crappy cookie cutter restaurant like BASH and Lone Buffalo. No character whatsoever. Alberto, I will miss you classing up O-​Town as you have for all these years! Now where will I take the hot dates I need to impress?

This place is pretty classy and definitely way too overpriced in my opinion. Great Italian food but can be less expensive

We were looking for something approaching fine dining in Ottawa and we found it, and more. We found fine dining but something more, a European approach that isn’t just about eating. While we didn’t have reservations, recommended, Alberto greeted us and made accommodations. We were never rushed and the timing of the courses was completely in sync with the pace of our conversation.
The food was exactly what we had hoped for and more. The asparagus app was cooked perfectly with a tomato cream sauce on a bed of fresh greens. The chicken Marsala had a complex but balanced flavor and several sides that complimented the flavors. My friend’s shrimp centric pasta had an amazing tomato base.
I highly recommend Alberto’s for both the food and ambience. Whether on a date or out with friends, you will enjoy yourself here.

Hidden Jem … Not much from the outside, but inside is simple classy. Atmosphere is casual and comfortable. Food is excellent … had the Portobello Ravioli and it was excellent. Staff is friendly & prompt, but not pushy. Never been there and not had staff be welcoming and conversational. Owner is super friendly … recommends wines and drinks. Once he brought out his homemade olives and mozzarella cheese. This is one place in Ottawa I recommend to any friends traveling to the area.

Wow! What a place! Delicious food. Great service. The plates are beautiful and the food is outstanding! We were told about this restaurant by a friend and decided to give it a try. Incredible! We were greeted warmly by each server that saw us. Alberto comes over and lights our candle and wishes us a good supper. The menu is amazing. Your mouth will water trying to decide. The choices were vast. They have daily specials and many other choices. They bring you a bread to start with a roasted garlic to smear with olive oil and parmesan cheese. Nom! Then the salad course with the all homemade salad dressing and spring greens. Every detail in this place has been thought through. It is a restaurant to awaken your senses delight your pallette and make for an enjoyable experience. The artwork is completely eclectic and for a simple space it is welcoming and magical. Our dinners, Wow! We ordered 4 different dishes and each one was spectacular. The flavors, the sauces, the colors, the taste!!! I never would have dreamed to have found such an innovative restaurant in the area, but we drive 45 minutes to get there and it was totally worth it. Alberto is Italian and visits Italy regularly. His ingredients are super fresh and melt in your mouth. The man is passionate about what he does and it shows. Our server was delightful also, very polite and friendly. If you are looking for a delicious meal, a great night out and a wonderful experience, Albertos is the place! 10 stars!

Overwhelming patchouli smell in bar

My husband and I had dinner here for the first time tonight. We never knew it was there before. The food was amazing! The gnocchi were delicious. The service was excellent. The décor is very eccentric. Ottawa’s best kept secret. We will definitely be back to Alberto’s soon.

I have been going to Alberto’s for years now. I feel the food is amazing especially for the area. They have great martinis also. When you are seated also you receive roasted garlic and bread for free. I will say the prices are a bit high but the girls and I love to go there Abd have a great time. Alberto always cones to out table and joins in on our fun. I recommend Alberto’s for a special night out!

This place has great food. I have been here around 5 times and always enjoy it. The portions are huge and delicious. The roasted garlic is to die for, the mango vinagrette is amazing and the chocolate truffle gelato is delicious. If you order a non-​pasta dish it will have seasonal vegetables al around, and seasoned to perfection.

Excellent food. Excellent service. Very nice décor. The women’s bathroom is very creatively painted, and check out the poetry on the back of the door.
I wish I could pick up Alberto’s and plop it down in Chicago. There’s no Italian like this in the city.

You don’t get more local than this! When we entered, every single person who left this place said goodbye and thanks to its owner, Alberto. Although a bit pricey (for Ottawa), this is great Italian food with friendly, fun service and an local, comfortable atmosphere. Starting with the roasted garlic served with fresh bread, followed by homemade dressings for the salads, great pastas and a huge portion of fish, this was a fun and tasty restaurant to find.
