Sara’s catered dinners are included in the Chicks with Picks Ice Climbing clinics. I had no idea what to expect. I’m blown away impressed. First there’s the hospitality of the owner/​chef that makes you feel welcome and part of the family. Then you eat, and eat I did! Sara so thoughtfully and meticulously accommodated my dietary needs (Vegan) with gorgeous fresh veggies straight from her garden! No boring veggies, she served me a vegetarian’s Dream on a plate. So full of flavor and love. All of my other clinic attendees dined on eloquently prepared meet dishes and appetizers. That seconds line and desert line was long indeed! Her B&B is so warm and inviting, décor is beautiful, and centrally located in Ouray. I plan to return with my wife and stay there and of course stuff myself like a pig on her fresh home cooking and definitely enjoy the hospitality and hopefully another hug :) Sara you made my vacation :)

Sara is very responsive in e-​mails. She and her staff took care of our wedding events for an extremely reasonable price. The site fee includes use of all 5 bedrooms and the large, beautiful yard with its gorgeous gardens and fruit trees. We stayed a few extra days beforehand and installed my entire family inside.
You tell her what time you want breakfast, and they’ll whip it up. She also customized our wedding menu to fit our tastes, culture, and budget. In the end, all the guests seemed surprised how creative and tasty the food was — I think they were expecting a bland meat and vegetarian dish, but we were able to serve Cowboy Antipasti, Spring Rolls, Indonesian Chicken Sate with peanut sauce, and Lychee fruit with fruit sauce, along with Sauteed Vegetables, Green Salad, Quinoa salad, Polenta, Roast Chicken, and Asian Pork Loin.
Secret Garden also has a baker who made our chocolate mousse cake in-​house. Two of our friends who are not cake people said that THEY even liked it!
S.G. does not have a liquor license, but they can serve alcohol; Sara will recommend you to Ouray Liquors for selection and delivery, and I’m glad we did because they hooked us up.
Two rules to note:
If using music services for an outdoor party, the sound must be stopped by 10PM.
The place next door (San Juan Chalet) needs you to rent out all 3 rooms the night of the party — this was easily done as we put all of the groom’s family in there.

This charming place completely lives up to its name. When we first approached the gate, I took one look at the garden and knew I was in for a treat. Everything was a lovely as nature and nurture can make them. My husband, an organist with a lot of wedding experience, immediately remarked, ‘This would be perfect for a wedding’. And we found out the proprietor does catering and weddings also. No surprise there. The room was quiet and comfortable, beautifully appointed. The BREAKFAST was wonderful! The menu was typical, pancakes and sausage, etc., but ALL ORGANIC! And it was delightful! I would definitely recommend this to anyone passing through this area, or if you are planning an event such as a wedding, reunion or ??? I understand she does off-​site catering as well. Awesome!
