Ate at the bar three times during my stay in Ouray. Two meals were very good with excellent and helpful service. One meal was mediocre with poor service. The two different live pianists I heard were both excellent. Good ambiance.

Had a wonderful dinner here during our weekend Memorial road trip. My husband had the lamp chops and I had a petite filet. Both were cooked to perfection. This restaurant offers fine dining in a super casual Colorado style atmosphere. I highly recommend anyone looking for a superb dinner, treat yourself to the Outlaw.

My first time in Ouray and my husband and I went to the Outlaw on our first night when we got in town. What a great restaurant! Our waitress was so helpful and very friendly! The food was amazing! I had the prime rib, and my husband had the shrimp pasta special. We were pleasantly surprised at how fast the food came out, and how great it tasted!(The mandarin orange vinaigrette was phenomenal!!)

Very pricey! $ 27 for Jamaican shrimp pasta, probably cheapest thing on menu. It was pretty tasty. Stay away from cream of broccoli soup — has double the salt it needs! Charming atmosphere, nice folks, good service. Fills up fast even in the off-season like today. Probably won’t go again.

It was just me. So I had my dinner at the bar. Friendly professional bartender. All the service was good. The problem is the food. The house salad was generic greens with no life of their own. And the Mandarine vinaigrette house dressing was just… sweet. Pepper steak arrived smothered in an ungapatchka of bell peppers and onions and was so beaten down as to have no texture of its own. Although liberated from its dreary coating was actually tasty. Steam-table vegetables and dull baked potato. The crème brûlée was refrigerated and tasted it. One taste and they didn’t charge me for it. The service saved the experience. But unless you’re very patient and lucky you don’t get to eat the service.

We walked in and the staff was friendly. Seemed like it would be great. That’s where it ended. We got food that came out pretty quick. My finances food was really undercooked but it took forever to get it cooked up. The server checked on every table around us several times before coming back to us. I feel like she didn’t feel we needed that much attention because we are young. I was disappointed with the food too. Very much so not worth the price. The steaks were both tough and my blackened prime rib was tough and extremely chard. I never have had prime rib that I had to chew that much. I have really high standards for food as a chef, and I was very much so let down. Server seemed to be in a hurry the whole time too. Barely gave us time to talk and would just walk away. We don’t live here but we don’t live in Glenwood either and we travel there to go to restaurants all the time. We won’t be back here for this. Great area, sub par food.

Nice atmosphere. Bad service. Ordered a steak medium rare, and got a completely rare steak. One degree from mooing. The worst part was that we waited ten minutes sitting there to tell her my steak needed to be cooked longer. We had to get her attention ourselves because she had time for all her tables except us. Expensive food for being average at best. She was in a rush. I loved the piano. Good place just for drinks.

The whole experience was just mediocre. Not one thing ordered was good tasteful. Overpriced, and my scorpion steak was awful!

Ate here two out of the three nights we stayed in Ouray. Was great the first night, I had the Scorpion Steak and it was delicious. The crème brûlée was awesome as well! The second night they were packed, we ended up sitting at the bar. Had another great meal and thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the staff(the bartender and hostess are husband and wife, and also own the place). We will be back this summer when we return to Telluride!

This restaurant was… good. Not terribly impressed and probably will not go back. The price of the meals did not reflect the quality of the dish. Had filet mignon cooked med-rare with rice and veggies as well as lamb chops cooked med-rare with baked potato and salad. The steak was cooked very well and delicious. The lamb was cooked to order but was tough and too many tendons or cartilage. The veggies and rice were okay. The salad was the typical dinner salad, the dressing(mandarin orange vinegarette) was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful as well as great, quick service. When traveling to Ouray in the middle of winter there is only a handful of restaurants operating. Not wanting to eat at the same place twice we ended up here on out last night. It was good, just not fantastic.

We arrived in Ouray yesterday, but unfortunately there was a private party here. Instead we tried it out the day after and it was just as good as the others write. I had the chicken pasta with Alfredo which tasted great, and the portion was bigger than I could eat!

Had a great experience here. It was a long wait for a Monday night(about an hour) but worth it. Fried calamari, filet mignon, and various moscow mules. All delicious. Service was above-average friendly, and there was a live piano player.

We received horrible service here. We sat at the bar because it was the only way to avoid an hour long wait. One of the bartenders was courteous and friendly; the other was not. It took way too long to get our meal. When it did come, it was obvious that it had just been sitting. I never did get my order of steamed vegetables and we had to ask multiple times for other items. The food was average; not worth the price.

Great Authentic feel and GREAT service. The quality of food is average and the prices overly high for what it is. I had the green Pepper Steak and my wife had the steak special of the 21 day dry aged bone in steak for $ 40. Her steak had very little flavor and mine had a really good gravy. She dipped her steak in my sauce the entire meal(blasphemy but needed for flavor). The drinks were very good and they had a proper copper cup for the mule. Summary… great town, great western feel, very average food with tourist pricing.

This place rests on its laurels. We ordered two medium rare filet mignons, both served on cold plates. They were good but not spectacular and on the dry side. Both were stone cold halfway through the meal. The salad was, well, «meh». It was cool, not cold, and the lettuce was an hour away from wilting. The Outlaw has slipped since the Bonatti family owned it. Oh, and I mentioned to the waitress that it was our wedding anniversary and she completely ignored it.

Honestly some of the best steak I have ever had. They recommend reservations but you can sit at the bar and tends to be pretty quick. We were greeted and they quickly took our drink orders. Fantastic drinks. They give you a little extra alcohol in your drinks but I’m not complaining! We ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer. That was great. Fiancé ordered the lamb, I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye. Absolutely no complaints from either of us. I asked for my steak to be cooked rare and it was. Very delicious steak. Juicy and seared to perfection. Service was great and the atmosphere was superb. Definitely my favorite restaurant in Ouray. It is a bit pricy but you get what you pay for. 2 drinks, steak, lamb and appetizer. $ 94 before a tip.

Wonderful food, the server was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested a nice red wine to go with my perfectly cooked prime rib. I called and made reservations and so we had to wait less than 5 minutes but I noticed others waiting much longer so definitely call ahead.

We were in town on vacation and looking for a good steak dinner. We were told to go to the outlaw. We had to wait for about 45 minutes for a table, on a Wednesday evening. The restaurant has a rustic theme, and a piano player who played everything from Mozart to Mötley Crüe. The food was amazing. I had the special, a strip steak covered with onions and mushrooms, served with vegetables and choice of potato, and soup or salad. My daughter had shrimp linguini with a salad. The portions are big and we had trouble finishing our food! Our bill was about $ 45.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Outlaw restaurant. We were recommended to try this place out and couldn’t have been happier. The prime rib was some of the best my husband had ever had, the escargot was very good, the drinks were great, and the salmon dish on special that I had was on point! If you’re looking for a place that has a fun atmosphere, great service, and some of the best Western cooking you’ve ever had the Outlaw is the place for you!

Go here if you need a steak or some serious protein. But make sure you don’t mind the prices — steak $ 20 – 30. Cool interior. Service was excellent and I have little doubt that most of their food is quite good. Did I see a review that mentioned ordering a burger — they should have ordered a steak. I admit that I had the spaghetti, which is not the best way to spend your $$ here, but even that was good. I just didn’t think my body could eat any more meat that day, otherwise I would have definitely ordered a steak!
