This place has the best waitstaff. My wife and I went three times in less tha a week because of the awesome service. Foods great and customizable. I’ll continue going because it’s a great environment.

After not going to BD’s we were very excited to come back. Friday night at 6:00 I was wary when there was 10 people in the restaurant. The bar of food was very unappealing. The chicken was floating in a pool of liquid. Half of the items were out. The bowls were a lot smaller than before and the prices were much higher. The food was not even cooked in the middle. The tortillas were hard around the edges. The only uplifting part of the restaurant was the pleasant server, Courtney. $ 75 for 3 adult bowls, 1 kid bowl and a senior soup and salad was outrageous.

This place only deserves one star because they had a happy hour. Even that wouldn’t bring me back in the doors again, though. $ 14 for ONE small bowl of ingredients. I wouldn’t mind paying $ 14 for all you can eat Mongolian bbq and soup and salad. But if you want those extras, expect to pay $ 16. It’s just not worth it. The quality of service and ingredients just doesn’t do it for me. I will never come back here and I would advise anyone else to stay away. Not even sure how they stay in business.

Have eaten at this location 4 times and all 4 times I’ve felt like the food quality is decent, the service was okay, but the price is just kind of high given the fare. A couple bowls of food with rice and tea ran me $ 25 after a tip and that’s just too high given the other fantastic options in that price range close by. Have to really be in the mood for stir fry and super hungry to eat here.

Pretty standard stuff and I really don’t go to chain stuff very much but made an exception. Went through the hog trough one time and then passed my bowl off to be fried up. It was pretty standard & kind of forgettable honestly. My waitress did a great job so that made the experience for me but, I’m not sure I’d be back anytime soon.

A Place where you choose what you want and how you want. Grab a bowl and your adventure begins. You can start filling it up with your choice of noodles, veggies and meat, add an egg to it if u like. Choose from a variety of sauces– super hot to mild, you can mix up the sauces to suit your taste buds. Take it to grill and let the chefs do their thing. If you have a small stomach like me and can’t eat for more than one sitting. You have the option of going for one trip which will cost you less.

This is not our first trip to BDs. Smaller than usual number of cars in the parking lot. Perhaps that should have been a hint. The hostess seated us in the only crowded corner of the restaurant. Server was prompt, but things still went downhill. The ingredient bars were poorly stocked, no tofu at all. The guys at the grill haven’t the slightest how to thoroughly cook the ingredients. The service… had to ask her to bring our drinks when she finally came back to the table(several bites into our meal) to see«how we were doing». How difficult can this job be, I ask. You bring bowls, drinks, side and check. When she realized, our check wasn’t going to be more than cost of two bowls, she dropped it(the check) as we placed our forks on our plates. To bad our drinks weren’t as quick. My guy and I are great tippers… when we feel the experience/service was great. Not sure this location deserves another chance.

Pretty darn good it is probably a 4 but since it’s a chain and I don’t run back every month I am going 3. But service is good. Atmosphere is nice and food is pretty tasty! If you like this type of food you will be very happy!

The food is good. Nothing special but nothing horrible. Staff is nice. The pricing was a bit of a surprise. $ 13.49 for one bowl. Not saying that is outrageous but then looking at the size of the bowl, I felt a little ripped off, especially compared to the size plate the grilled food is placed on and also, the ~5% waste from the grill that doesn’t make it to your plate(sorry to get a little technical). Thinking about the unlimited bowl price of $ 15.99, I decided to fill my first bowl with a hefty amount unlike the other people with a pile of food who you could tell wanted to make one bowl count. After my first bowl, I still was not completely filled up and decided, for $ 2 extra, I’ll just satisfy my hunger completely like any other restaurant and take the last bit home. After eating about half of my second bowl, i hit the point to where it was time to ask for the check and a To-go box. Once the check was dropped off, I evaluated it and realized that not only was I charged the $ 1.50 for unlimited bowls, but also another $ 2.99 for a «add doggie bag» charge… This left me shocked. I asked the waitress if that charge was correct and if they were indeed charging me to take my leftovers home. THEYWERE! I asked the waitress that if I didn’t take my food home, if I would be charged and she said no… wait, all stop… so you are going to charge me extra to take food I have already paid for home, after I upgraded to unlimited bowls anyways? And if I don’t take it home, you’re just going to throw it away? Until someone explains to me the reasoning behind their business model, I will not be returning. I understand if someone ate a plate and a half then went and got another full bowl just to take home, would be a good example of unlimited bowl abuse and should be charged but when I legitimately just wanted to be filled and not go home hungry, I get charged money. Either the prices need to be lowered in order to keep this foolish charge or it needs to be completely taken off before I will come back.

I really enjoy this place. Food and sauces are better than Hu Hot. Price is high but it’s a nice splurge sometimes.

I think I tend to like the idea of dining here a little more than I end actually liking the experience of eating here, but I’m usually leaving full so I can’t complain too much. This place seems like something I should love. Pay a flat fee and load up a bowl with a bunch of different ingredients, they cook it all up and you feast on the results. You start with a base of noodles or rice and then you get a bowl that you fill from a bar that is basically like a salad bar. There are a variety of meats, veggies, etc. and they all seem like they are a good quality, which is good. I’m kind of hesitant to to pick certain things like chicken or things that i worry could end up a little undercooked. Maybe that’s on me. Anyway, my issue is I try to pace myself when picking things but end up only picking the same 4 meats and veggies every time because nothing else seems like a good mix or just aren’t up my alley. maybe I’m just too picky. After picking your bowl of stuff and a sauce, they grill it up on a giant grill and then give you your bowl of cooked whatever. You can get bottomless bowls or 2 trip options and stuff like that but usually one trip is enough for me. I feel like the cost is much more on your side if you can stomach more than 1 trip but I just don’t have the appetite to pull that off. So I end up thinking that the meal I get is a touch overpriced when it is all said and done. The service always is fine and the restaurant is clean and all that. It’s a good option from time to time but not something I’d want to really do all that frequently.

Ambiance-2 Stars Service– 2 Stars Price– 2 Stars Ingredients-4 Stars The ingredients were the highlight of this meal. The seafood appeared fresh, with no fishy odor. There was a large variety of ingredients to choose from, to create your very own stir fry concoction. I do have to say that I would prefer that Paul Bunyan was not allowed to chop the veggies. The jalapeño slices were the size of a mini doughnut, only not nearly as enjoyable! There were a myriad of sauces and spices to enable you to put the final touch on your personal masterpiece. Then, unfortunately you handed off your bowl to unmotivated grill tenders who focused on quantity on the grill as opposed to quality of stir frying my aforementioned masterpiece! ***TIP*** add some liquid to your bowl of ingredients. This will facilitate the cooking, otherwise everything will just burn from lack of attention by the grill tenders, and still not be cooked sufficiently. Another nice benefit that they offer is a choice of White or brown rice, tortillas, or lettuce wraps, or any combination there of. I thought the prices were a little steep for what you got. $ 13.49 for a single stirfry bowl, $ 14.49 for a single stirfry bowl plus soup and salad, or $ 15.99 all you can eat stirfry and soup and salad. Soft drinks are extra. This meal for two ran us $ 40 including tax. For my money, I would prefer to go to Genghis Khan.

I am a vegetarian, I like that they have tofu available for my stir-fry. They seem to keep moving it around though so it’s hard to locate sometimes. Occasionally I will find a piece of meat that has wandered into my dish.

This place is fun for anyone who likes to eat. Especially if you’re picky or like to play with your good. I would suggest well behaved children be brought here, because it’s fun to build your meals and watch them be cooked, but it is an environment with food all over the place, so I would say be careful with more rowdy children. Easy place to take lots of people and have everyone leave happy.

I went here with a co-worker and was pleased with the meal in general, though it was a bit more expensive than other Mongolian BBQs that I’ve been to. The Atmosphere of this place is ok, it’s fairly crowded and a tad loud, but they do have TVs with the news on for your entertainment while you eat. The servers are pleasant and the environment is fairly clean. My co-worker told me that he, in the past, has taken clients to BDs for lunch /dinner so it seems like a good enough place for an activity such as that. The service was a little lacking. Our waitress didn’t seem to be all together there in her job. Having said that the interaction we had with her was friendly. The wait for refills on drinks was a bit long, and the wait for the two trips to get out checks was rather long. She appeared to be covering four tables during the lunch rush hour, so that may have been what the delay was about. The grill operators were fairly cursory in their interactions, but cooked the food very well. The facilities seemed to be clean enough. Someone had dropped their cup of sauce at the buffet, but the staff got it cleaned up very quickly and were quick to make everyone aware of the area affected. Tables were cleaned off quickly after customers had finished their meals, and all of the cutlery and plate ware and glassware were all clean when they were given. The food was good and cooked well by the grill operators. The scallops and squid that I got were cooked to perfection, which I find to be somewhat rare. The selection of items to put in your bowl was rather extensive and I felt quite nice. The seasonings I though were comparable to most other Mongolian BBQ places that I’ve been to. The only thing I found to be somewhat lacking was their sauce choices. They have a large number of sauces to choose from, however unlike a lot of the Mongolian BBQ places I’ve been to most of these sauces were premade premixed concoctions so you couldn’t really choose for example the heat level or flavors involved with your sauce. Having said that, I did enjoy what I ended up with. All in all it was a pretty good lunch experience. I had one bowl and one iced tea for a grand total of $ 12.47. Like I said it was a bit more than typical Mongolian BBQs that I’ve been to considering that they charge you per bowl, but by no means was it a bad experience. I’d go back to BDs, but it won’t be a staple for me.

BD’s used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I am never very good at making a good bowl, but I still used to love the experience, until the last time I are there. Let me tell you a story. It was a pleasant warm Sunday, and nothing sounded better than some good ol’ BD’s. I made a Beef dish with pasta noodles and Teriyaki sauce mix, along with some pineapple and baby corn. It was pretty tasty, if I do say so myself. Our service was prompt, and the server was not bad. All in all, an okay experience, until the fun started the next morning… I have not seen that much brown, since I visited the UPS headquarters. I want to try and keep this as PG as possible, so I will try to spare the nitty gritty details. I had to push back my flight for the next day, because of my new porcelain friend, did not want me to leave it’s side. I made friends with many other porcelain chairs, during my week of travel. Planes, airports, hotels, offices, I did not discriminate who or when I visited(I travelled the entire time with my new boss. Pretty awkward conversation trying to explain my frequent trips). Finally after 10 days the immense need to visit the bathroom frequently, my nightmare ended. I am seeing a therapist for the PTSD I developed in the process(this part is a joke, PTSD is a serious disease). All in all, I survived the experience, and appreciated life more afterwards, due to the fear that I would never have a normal digestive system again. I would encourage you to just skip this jewel altogether.

Fun casual place, good variety of ingredients for your bowl. Last time I was there, they had the usual sliced beef & chicken, shrimp, scallops, calamari, Italian sausage, and a whole lotta veggies from asparagus to zucchini… some stuff you don’t usually see on a grill… at least 12 different pre-made sauces… so, yeah, plenty of variety. I’m with Stephen H though, I don’t see why this merits three times the cost of a mom-and-pop Mongolian joint like you see in every strip mall in SoCal. The grill guys are noisy & fun, and will make a fuss over birthday celebrants. Service is attentive, but be aware there’s an upcharge for a to-go box. If you get the all-you-can-eat(I never do, but the Guy has the appetite for it,) then power through that second bowl, get a third one, then take home your leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

We had gone there several years ago and I was not impressed, yet when it was suggested this time — it sounded like a good option to give it another shot. I am really glad we did. The service was great and the food was really good. I enjoyed the cooks and how well they monitor and call people up. The flavors were good. My only complaint was that I feel they overcooked my chicken a little — it was way too dry to eat and enjoy, so I wasted the chicken and don’t really like wasting food. I guess the one suggestion I wish they had(and maybe I do but didn’t see it) was suggestions on how to mix the sauces. I tend to like a combination of spicy and sweet and while my first plate was good — my second had a weird taste I wasn’t expecting. The only reason I am not giving all 5 stars is because of the selection — not enough variety of noodles — I like mine a little thicker and not rice noodles. I also wish much of the meat was frozen like it tends to be at huhots — I just think it’s a little safer. This is definitely a place I will visit next time I am in KC.
