I’ve been to this location and the one downtown. Either one, I can’t seem to get away from Frankie’s Chicken. It is amazing.

We were at the OP location on 5⁄24 which was my mother’s 76th birthday. We wanted to take her somewhere local and Italian(her favorite) and picked Garozzo’s in Overland Park. We raved about the food and recommended toasted ravioli. We were bitterly disappointed when the raviolis came out as they were much smaller than I had experienced before and not very tasty. We found out later that these had changed recently. Not a good change– they really resembled frozen pizza rolls. The entrees where good and we mentioned in passing it was mom’s birthday. After dinner our server asked to see my mother’s ID.(?!?) We didn’t expect anything for free and probably would have ordered a desert. We also wanted another round of drinks but the whole checking the ID for a scoop of ice cream took entirely too long. I have not been to Garozzo’s in a while and am bitterly disappointed. As we left and expressed our displeasure to the manager who told us «Well if we gave everyone who said it was their birthday a free dessert…» I must say if your business hinges on a scoop of ice cream, you are in trouble. We further said it was just tacky that you carded a 76 year old and there has to be some discretion. We were told rather flippantly«If you don’t like it you can talk to Mike Garrozo» so I tried. I messaged via their website and posted on FB. Next time we are going to Jaspers.

Fresh Authentic Italian. A comfortable casual classy atmosphere. A great place to go if you are in Overland Park area and feeling hungry. I wish this was in my hometown.

I was feeling a little Italian and craving antipasti. I was alone and wanted to sit at the bar. I had the antipasto platter and the Sicialian Stuffed Artichoke. It was the best artichoke I ever ate. Highly recommended.

Wow! Worst food I have ever ate at what is supposed to be a good restaurant? Minimal taste and you don’t get a lot for your money? Our waitress was not motivated and didn’t care to be there! Very disappointing! Sick of hearing his voice on the radio! Better off going to a chain restaurant!

Recently had an engagement party and a wedding shower at Garozzo’s All I can say is perfect, perfect, perfect. Angelica, Nick and Hillary are wonderful ! Thank you so much for all the detail and wonderful food. One guest had horrible food allergies and I was directed to choices that she could eat. Thank you for making me look like a great hostess !!! I often have lunch business meetings, Angelica and Chris know just how to serve business guest, perfect timing. !

Not good food. Good service and a nice atmosphere but the food is awful. We started with beers and found they had only one craft style beer in house. It was a KC Dunkle, not bad For starters I had the calamari with was okay too. A little soft and the marinera sauce was flavorless. But as a starter not bad. For dinner the three of is selected three different chicken dishes and all agreed the meat was dry and the sauce poor.

We dined at Garozzo’s for my mother-in-law’s birthday on 1÷23÷16. I need to preface this with, we eat here all the time and always celebrate my mother-in-law’s birthday here. My aunt and uncle eat at this location several times a month and had just been here earlier in the week. So, this is not our first time here. Let me tell you it was the WORST experience ever. I made our reservations on OpenTable for 13 people at 5:00 pm. Within an hour, I get notified Garozzo’s canceled our reservation. So I call them, they inform me that is a mistake and take all my information, telling me we are«all set.» Thursday my husband calls to make sure it is all ok and was told, I see you had a reservation, but it was canceled. She told him we were all set for our party of 10 for the 23rd. When we arrived, we had to wait about 15 minutes. They seated us in the back of the restaurant, where we have never dined before. Our waiter was AWFUL and when I say awful, I mean AWFUL. It started off with, my mother-in-law’s birthday was on the 19th and he said he wouldn’t honor the free spiedini dinner because her birthday wasn’t on the 23rd. He was so busy cleaning our table and removing our dished that we hadn’t even finished yet. I wasn’t even finished with eating my bread and he literally took my plate and knife away. He continued doing that with every course — our salad and main entrée. He did this to everyone. Then he had another waiter do the same thing. The food was ok — my daughter’s meal was awful, but they didn’t stick around long enough to ask us how everything was — not even once. The kids didn’t get their ice cream that comes with the meal either. My uncle received his check and they charged a 35% gratuity. It took an act of Congress to get them back over to our table to fix it. Ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. We spent way too much money on this place to be rushed out of there within less of an hour of being seated. Just the bill for my family of 6 was almost $ 200. My husband spoke with the manager, who basically said, I’m sorry, I don’t know why that happened and they kept rushing you, we don’t have another party coming in for an hour. I can’t talk to you now about it, but I will call you on Tuesday to fix it. He did call my husband on Tuesday and asked what he could do to make it right and my husband told him he needed to figure that out. He asked for our address and said he would talk to the owner and make it right. Well, it’s 2 weeks later and they have done nothing to «make it right.» We dine at many fabulous places in Kansas City, including Italian cuisine. We used to love this place, but it obviously has some MAJOR issues. My advice is to stay far, far away from this place. You do not get your moneys worth or time to enjoy your food or company.

Food was very bland. I ordered the Angel hair diablo con pesce. Said on the menu that it was spicy, but the dish had absolutely no flavor or spice. I rarely have to add salt and pepper to my meal, but I had to for this one. Also had the garlic cheese bread, which had a ton of cheese, but was still just ok with taste.

Very disappointed in the toasted raviolis. They used to be really good, but the last two times I’ve ordered, the meat filling was mushy and almost inedible. We did take out and the salad and lasagna portions were much smaller than we get in the restaurant. The taste was not what it used to be. I’ve been a customer for a number of years, but won’t be going back anytime soon.

The four way chicken splendini. It is one of the best things ever. They can be a bit pricey but is one of the few places for a night out with the girlfriend.

I have eaten at this location a couple of times and prefer the downtown location for the atmosphere. The downtown restaurant has such a warm, romantic feel and this one feels more like a chain restaurant when you walk in. Atmosphere aside, the food is just as good. I’ve never had anything but excellent meals at Garozzo’s and the service is top notch. Pick anything on the menu, anything at all, you won’t be disappointed.

The food was good and the serving was generous, but I wasn’t impressed. I had lunch here after hearing co-workers rave about the chicken spiedini at Garozzo’s. The atmosphere leans towards elegant, with white table cloths and nicely dressed servers, but the prices were very reasonable(a plate of the spiedini was $ 12) I had a Caesar salad which was as good as any other I’ve ever had and of course I tried the spiedini, it’s what they are known for, but I opted for the Alfredo version. It was surprisingly bland, both the chicken and the Alfredo sauce. It wasn’t horrible, but my expiations were not met, maybe other variations of their spiedini are better. I’d try them again.

The quality of the food was good. I had the Veal and Mushroom Ravioli. The sizing of the each ravioli was medium, but 4 pieces at $ 10 was not a meal, this is a small appetizer at a lunch price or they vastly underserved me. On top of it, the service was poor. The server did not fill up our drinks until the meal came out, and did not serve us Bread(what Italian restaurant does not offer bread??!) and we had to ask for a spoon for my guests(what Italian restaurant serves pasta like spaghetti or angel hair and does not provide a spoon to roll the pasta??!) nor did he offer us any cheese for my guest’s tomato sauce based pasta. I was going to give their City market location a try(the interior of this restaurant is bland with no atmosphere), but with the level of service and value, I may just pass on it.

This is a family staple of ours. We have been going here for years. It is exactly what you see. Old school Italian flavors. No frills or fuss. We love to get their takeout when a nice meal is wanted but not the cooking. Their spiedini’s and their vodka sauce(any dish with it) are both great options.

Amazing taste. One should definitely try any dish with marinara sauce. Best Marinara sauce I have ever tasted. Also try their martini. They have quite a variety.

I’m giving this a 3, because it’s a good restaurant. It’s by no means great and now that I understand it’s a small chain, it stands to reason. Pros: If you are alone, staying the Doubletree, and want to watch the ESPY’s with some decent cannelloni and some cheap red wine… you are in luck. Sit in the bar, set the bar low, you’ll be fine. Cons: Food is ok, not great. Wait staff clearly work on volume, not quality. Not bad people, just rushed. Now that I know exactly what to expect, I’d come back. But alone, and with lower expectations.

Just enjoyed Father’s Day brunch at Garozzo. What can you say other then it was very delicious. The quality of the food makes it one of the best brunch is you can find the Kansas City area. Prime rib, nice Italian specialties the restaurant is known for serving. To finish it off there was great Italian pastries. Overall a very good value for great Italian food.

The food and service were great! The Spedini Garrozo and garlic bread was really worth it. Halfway during dinner we had an unexpected visitor at our table. The manager apologized for the bug but gave us some comment about how it never happens. Don’t know how others feel about this, but to me that’s just unacceptable. Hopefully this two star rating gets their attention!

Awesome meal for my birthday. The meal for me was free on my birthday. Added bonus. Ashley our server was good. Servings for dinner huge. Wine list large but bottle I ordered of Pinot noir was ok. Kids loved their food. Wedge salad great. Chicken spiedini was fantastic. As good as Carmens. I will be back. We all had leftovers to take home.

I have been to Garozzo’s before and it is usually consistent. We had their stuffed artichoke for an appetizer and it was great as usual. We both ordered the special which was a petite filet and a chicken spiedini. I had never had their chicken spiedini so was excited to try it. The filet was nothing to write home about. It was sliced thin and smothered in cheese. This is not how a filet should be served, ever! The spiedini was not bad, not quite as flavorful as I expected. Overall the service and atmosphere made up for the lack luster filet. But will probably go to Jasper’s next time.

Our food was pretty good. The artichoke heart appetizer was delicious! My fettuccine Alfredo was creamy and delicious. However, what ruined my experience is when I asked for a to go box because our waiter took my plate, insisted on boxing it up himself, picked up other people’s dirty dishes and put them all on the same tray and carried it into the back… totally ruined my meal.

Perfect for an anniversary! My boyfriend took me here for our 1 year. We had a wonderful time, lovely atmosphere(man singing Frank Sinatra & another playing piano) He spent $ 105, $ 75 food the rest tip. We had the artichoke with shrimp as an appetizer, wedge salad, the seafood ravioli mario, and he had the 3 way pasta(took a mountain of pasta home!). I had a mago passion martini had no complaints;) I would recommend garozzo’s for a special occasion.

Garozzo’s isn’t bad, but it isn’t stellar. I have been to various locations in the past. They do tend to be consistent throughout the metro. They are known for the spedini and I have to say, these are pretty good. I have tried pastas with red sauces, lasagna, fettucine, spedini, etc. I have never had a bad meal here, but it is very old school Italian. A lot of the dishes are submerged in sauce instead of lightly tossed and complimenting the dish. Service can be hit or miss. On my most recent visit, it was good, but very odd. I wasn’t sure if the waiter was new, was thinking about his date from the night before, or what, but he just wasn’t all there. We were offered bread at the end of our meal… If you are really hungry, or have a family of twelve to feed for a week, get the pasta trio. It is seriously like five pounds of pasta! In a town that severely lacks really good Italian, Garozzo’s is a decent option.
