I eat here at least once a week. Kassandra did an excellent job.

Good place for a friendly breakfast. Everything is solid and as expected, nothing gourmet, just a nice and simple breakfast. This is a very short walk from the Doubletree Hotel next door, pretty much the best breakfast option around.

Really great place for a healthy sit-down breakfast/lunch. Fresh, local products, and a friendly staff. I had the«Tri-Athlete» and wasn’t disappointed. Wish they had loose leaf tea instead of cheap generic tea bags, but other than that I’d come back again

Wasn’t given an English muffin for my to go order. A little disappointed but no big deal this place is still great.

I have been at 3 of the First Watch restaurants across the U.S. and each one consistently has excellent food for breakfast and lunch. You can find a mix of healthy meals that taste awesome or unhealthy ones that taste just as good. Every city I go to I always search out a First Watch and hope that my hotel is close to it! If you go to the one in Overland Park, hopefully you will get Courtney as your waitress, she is friendly and takes excellent care of all her customers! Can’t wait for my next visit!

I thought all FW’s were equal but not so. Ordered the TriAthlete here and it was fantastic. Loaded with lots of mushrooms and nice variety of fresh fruit.(Had this same meal at a nearby FW on Mother’s Day and had to look for mushrooms, no excuses that they ran out was there at 8:15.)This FW is small but great food and service. Will be returning.

This is your average breakfast place. Lots of selection on the menu. We got in quick early on a Saturday morning. Service was slowish.

Pretty ordinary food, bad customer service. Last time I was there, they seated a man that had come in after I did, then informed me that there was a 15 minute wait. WTH? Not likely to go back after that.

food was great, had a turkey egg white spinach omelette and an English muffin, glass of this carrot, orange ginger juice… suprisingly good. My daughter had the Floridian French toast… omg, it was so yummy… I had to taste it… good atmosphere, and healthy options.

Good breakfast grub if you’re ever in Kansas City.(I hope you’re not), but the nice people at First Watch serve up some good grub to make it a lot less painful. In summary: F Kansas City(Not really), Go First Watch!!!

If this is the best brunch place around, then folks in KC have a very limited perspective. Cracker Barrel and Waffle House have a better breakfast and service. First, it took 7 – 8 minutes for a server to even acknowledge me — I was about to leave. The menu might look variable, but it’s basically the same ingredients being used in different ways. I ordered the greek omelette and it had no flavor at all. The English muffin was over toasted and cold and the potatoes also didn’t have any flavor. I won’t be back and don’t recommend First Watch if you’re looking for a good breakfast. If you want an average breakfast that’s worse than you can make at home, then by all means this is the place.

For many years now this has been our favorite place to go for morning breakfast. The waiters and waitresses have been stellar, the management cared about the customers, and the food was good. If you asked me my thoughts a year ago, this location would have been awarded 5 stars. Over the past couple of months, the staff is slowly turning over, the food quality has dropped(the most recent problem is the change to an awful bacon — it actually came out a weird color). We are starting to see our favorite place turn into just an average place to eat. I guess new management means change. Change can be good and it can be bad. In this case, I won’t say it has been bad, but it definitely is not good. Come on First Watch, I want you to be up there at 5 stars again.

best breakfast in KC. The service is quick, the menu is extensive and it’s all business up in here. I am so glad I found this place !

Definitely the most corporate feeling atmosphere of the First Watch locations around the metro. It’s close location to Corporate Woods on College means it crowds up quickly even at 7:15 in the morning and again for lunch. Much like the other locations, this First Watch serves up friendly service, plenty of tasty breakfast and lunch options, hot coffee in a carafe on your table, and the informal pay at the register ticket service. Wish they would go back to the different daily specials rather than the seasonal options. Never a bad meal here as far as breakfast goes, but lacking that extra«something» to make it a four star rating. Can’t put my finger on that something, but still a solid option.

As far as breakfast restaurants go, this one is A-OK. I’ve never had a bad meal at this or any other First Watch but it also hasn’t been anything special. I like«different» kinds of food; a little spicy or some combinations that you wouldn’t think to put together. First Watch is simply a breakfast/lunch run-of-the-mill place. I do appreciate that they have good selections for those training but also those trying to lose weight. It’s nice to see both sides of the spectrum while still being«healthy». It’s also a small thing but I really enjoy the samplings of individually packaged coffee creamers instead of only offering the half and half. This particular location is always very friendly and do very well on their customer service. It’s usually a little full or a wait list but they seem to move people right along. If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for typical breakfast or lunch, it’s worth the stop.

The food was probably more 3-star worthy, but the great service and healthier menu options pushed them over the top to 4 stars. We showed up after the Gobbler Grind ½ Marathon race with a pretty large group of 7. First Watch kept us waiting less than 15 minutes before we were seated. We placed our orders, and the food arrived at our table less than 10 minutes after we had ordered it. Mind blow. The food was acceptable, but what put it over the top for me was the Triathlete Omlet, and the Healthy Turkey Omlet. First Watch helped me stay healthy even at a post race brunch and that really means a lot to me. Definitely a solid post race brunch option.

Eh– if you’re vegan don’t bother coming here. Actually, if you’re not don’t bother, either. The options for vegans are slim pickings but the food taste is no bueno. I got some sort of veggie sandwich minus the cheese and mayo and they gave me about 90% spinach and 10% mushrooms. The taste was«eh»…I’ve had better. There was a side salad with my sandwich and it was soggy and tasted like it came from a bag. A few of the lettuce pieces were very wilted and slimy. Ew, ew, ew. My husband got Eggs and Bacon over hash and he said there were only a few small pieces of bacon in the dish and the rest were potatoes. The eggs on top seemed to hide the lack of bacon. He said the dish was lacking serious taste and he could get better food at IHOP. Which is a major blow below the belt, to say the least! Our preschool son ordered a chocolate pancake which he smothered in syrup and ate the whole darn thing. So, he apparently has no issues with the food. Growing boys… go figure. It looks like this place is trying to save money where it can by giving its patrons more of the cheaper foods while skimping on the costly ingredients. Our server was very friendly but that was not enough to get us to come back. If the food’s not good, why bother? We will not be wasting our money here again.

Fresh fruit crepes are phenomenal! The skillets are good also. Could not eat it all. Only disappointment was no jelly on the table, only jam. Service was friendly and efficient.

I’ve been to several First Watch’s in my day, starting several years ago — this one turned out to be one of my favorites. We didn’t know that it closed at 2:30pm, and ended up coming in around 2:05pm. I didn’t want to search for another location, and we had gift cards to use(when do you get a chance to enjoy a brunch during the week?) so we decided to stay. They were very polite and didn’t seem irritated at all by our late arrival. I ordered the Bacado omelet. This thing was chock FULL of avocados and bacon, and had some salsa next to it for added zip. The english muffins were toasted perfectly, and the potatoes were great. My girlfriend got the healthy turkey omelet, and while not as glorious as my Bacado, it had great flavor and was very nice. The meal arrived in a flash! I see some reviews on here talking about the delicate taste inflections of English muffins and how the potatoes weren’t original enough… guys, this is a seven or eight dollar meal. What the hell do you expect? If you have lofty, gourmet expectations for a chain restaurant then I’m sorry that reality isn’t accommodating. If you have reasonable expectations, and are a reasonable human being, First Watch is great. One thing that bugged me was the fact that a worker vacuumed about five feet away from where we were eating… I understand you’re closing, but keep the vacuums put away until AFTER2:30pm. Really diminished my eating experience, as I could barely hear the person across from me talking. Overall, great little restaurant. Better than other Watches I’ve been to, and the Bacado is an absolute butt kicker if you like bacon and avocados(and if you don’t, then our taste buds are probably polar opposites of each other).

Sorry, but I guess I’m the exception to the otherwise rave reviews. This First Watch is convenient to where I live. The service is friendly, and there was no wait when I went around 9:30 a.m. I ordered the Acapulco Express omelet, which is supposed to include chilies, chorizo, cheese, etc. It was OK, but blaaaand! No spice at all. The accompanying English muffin didn’t have that slightly sour tang that good ones have. The home fries were just out-of-the-box frozen potatoes with no particular flavor. The coffee was OK, and they put a pot of it on the table so you can refill at will. If you’re looking for a spicy omelette, try Mimi’s Santa Fe omelette(served all day) made with fresh jalapeños. In short, meh! If I’m in the neighborhood I’d eat here again, but not with high expectations. I wouldn’t make a special trip here.
