SUCKER. Yep, that’s me. I am a sucker for a good breakfast place. A good breakfast is just a great way to start the day. Also, it’s difficult for a place to screw up eggs, bacon and toast, right? I like easing into my day with a good breakfast and a cool ice tea. The rest of the day has to be good. LePeep has been around Kansas City for awhile. That alone speaks volumes about a restaurant in this day and age. There are two locations and I have been to both. There is always an abundance of sunlight with lots of windows and sunny décor. The staff is friendly at both locations and very accomodating. Typically, the managers come by your table to check on you, too. I have never had an issue at LePeep regarding service. Usually there is a line to get seated on weekends. However, there is never a very long wait and things seem to move quickly. I have never had to wait to long for my food, either. The staff is good at getting people in and out in a fast and friendly manner. They have coffee service for you while you wait which is a nice plus. The people who are waiting seem to be pleasant. No one is grumpy or frowny faced. The food is good and filling. There is nothing over-the-top outstanding at LePeep. Everything is standard fare but tasteful. They have some special items which have been delicious(mushroom caps, crepes, lobster scrambled eggs and more). I like the variety and I enjoy the presentation. Everything is fresh and yummy. Any of my special requests have been done without eye rolling or sighs from the wait staff. It’s all good. I will say that I noticed some things on my visit this morning that gave me pause. My biscuit was kind of crumbly and obviously a reheat. It took awhile for the server to bring the doggie bag box. Overall, though, small things that are easily corrected. If you are looking for a place to have a good breakfast or brunch, LePeep is for you.

Alas, mia Le Peep has joined the throng of sad breakfast establishments shuffling mindlessly into the void of mediocrity. I suspect Groupon the culprit, but I cannot be sure. The seemingly ubiquitous Groupon«Le Peep deals» have eroded the quality at the base, and fell this once glorious sausage, pancake, and hashbrown tree. What’s left is long wait times, undercooked pancakes with batter center, and rushed flavor — which is no flavor at all. This has depressed me, as I visited this place often; it is a novel phenomenon, this«Groupon effect.» I have witnessed it time and again, at other dining establishments: the service slowly degrades into a quick dash for cash, and the diner can taste it. I wish I could say better things for my once-favorite mornin’ food joint, but they have alas fell from grace. Maybe they will recover glory, but when arriving, take your plate with a grain of salt, and an understanding of rushed mediocrity.

As a GF diner, I’m always so happy when I can have some bread-y things. Had a groupon which made the deal even better. They have GF toast, pancakes, and waffles, though I just had the toast with my mini veggie omelette with brie. Will let you sub meat for meat, cheese for cheese which is cool! I got brie instead of «combo cheese» in my omelette and my sister got chicken instead of smoked ham in whichever she had ordered. Our friend(not gluten free) got some sort of crepes which were pretty large and easily a 2 person portion! The peasant potatoes that came with the omelettes were some diced potatoes with rosemary or some herb, looked kind of like they could have been frozen… were OK. Friendly staff though, and also have a coffee«café», friend got an iced hazelnut latte which I sipped and was good.

(To be fair, I based this review on two separate experiences at this restaurant) The atmosphere was wonderful(which actually earned it a star), but the food, well, wasn’t wonderful. Sad, the staff are so friendly, warm, and welcoming. I just wish the food was better.

Just left Le Peep and am thrilled with the experience. We arrived a little after 8, had no wait at all, enjoyed the assistance of a wonderfully helpful, perky server(as a person with celiac disease, I have lots of questions), and then had the best gluten-free breakfast ever! There were so many safe options for me! GF pancakes, waffles, and toast cooked on dedicated griddles, along with the eggs, meats, and potatoes — again, all safe. My non-celiac daughter had the Monte Cristo crêpe and was delighted with it. This will be a regular stop for us from now on!

I generally like the Le Peep chain, but I don’t come to this particular location very often because it’s rarely a fabulous experience. I recently dined here with some family members and the wait for a table was about half an hour(we were told forty minutes) which is a fair amount of time to wait for breakfast fare. Once seated, our order was taken relatively promptly, but it took about half an hour for our food to arrive. Considering that nobody ordered anything particularly difficult to make, the wait was a bit on the long side. My experience at this location in the past has been similar. The waits are just too long and simply not worth it for breakfast food. The food is the same as at other locations and I do like the breakfast items, but their sammies and anything that sounds pseudo-Mexican should be avoided like the plague.

Gluten free choices! Delicious food, friendly staff. This is my go-to choice for breakfast out.

Simple, easy breakfast and brunch food. We came here for a Sunday brunch and didn’t have much of a wait, which was a nice change from what we usually experience downtown. If you are in dire need of caffeine, they do have a place where you can order a coffee while you wait, which is nice. Their breakfast menu has a decent number of selections on it. I went with the breakfast burrito, and it was HUGE! I was only able to eat about half of it. I would say the food here is good, but not great. I was a bit disappointed that my breakfast burrito contained very little meat and eggs and was primarily filled with potatoes, which took away not only protein but a lot of flavor as well. Our waitress was nice and checked on us several times, even though they were very busy and she had many other tables to tend to. The décor leaves a lot to be desired and this place looks like it came straight out of the mid to late 80’s. With the gorgeous windows in the main dining area there is so much potential here if they ever decide to remodel. Overall, a decent brunch and I would come back if I was invited, but I likely wouldn’t rush back on my own.

I ordered Le peep delivery. The food was warm and fresh. It travelled surprisingly well! Will order again!

I’m a fan of Le Peeps no matter what location. It’s a down to earth, really great place for breakfast. Most locations have lots of gluten free/paleo/whole30 options. The people that work there are so genuine and sweet. Makes me feel good every time we go.

Simple, wholesome, American fare. I ordered the Homestead Breakfast, which included biscuits and gravy, eggs, and potatoes. I had them prepare my eggs over-easy and substituted hash browns rather than their traditional potatoes. They were very accommodating to fix the dish exactly as you’d like, including cooking my hash browns to be extra crispy. The person I was with ordered the Greek Goddess omelet, which was actually quite good. The omelet consisted of egg whites, spinach, tomatoes, artichokes, Kalamata olives and feta cheese. The dish managed to be both healthy and packed with flavor, and I would happily order it myself. The coffee was also good, and their lattes looked tasty as well. It’s not going to be the most wonderful meal you’ve every tried, but I would certainly come back and recommend Le Peep to anyone looking for a satisfying and filling breakfast.

This is a good breakfast/brunch spot, just not overwhelmingly good. I had the Dawn Breaker, which is scrambled eggs with mushrooms and bacon, topped with cheese, tomatoes and green onions. Basically a deconstructed omelet. I asked for no bacon and about midway through discovered it did have bacon in it. At that point, I wasn’t going to alert our server for a new dish as I was with coworkers who were already well into their meals. However, I still enjoyed the dish. It also came with an English muffin and peasant potatoes. I’m a big fan of potatoes, but these did not have a lot of flavor to them and seemed to be of the frozen variety. I could be wrong, but with the popularity of farm to table restaurants who locally source their food, I find I can quickly spot restaurants whose food comes off the Sysco truck. Our service was excellent. We sat on the patio and it seemed as if a big rain was coming, so our server helped us move our table further in so we wouldn’t get wet. She was very attentive and friendly. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience and they offer items on their menu I haven’t seen at other breakfast restaurants.

I suppose I’ll stick with 4 stars, but I swear every time I come here there’s something just not quite right. They take one step forward and 2 steps back. No towels in the bathroom and water all over sink. Gross. Our waiter, Brian, was awesome, but the cashier took people who’d waited less time than I had. Annoying and rude. Why don’t they let us pay at the table like almost every other restaurant? It’s very odd and outdated. Still ticked off at how I was treated the last time I came here, but the service today was excellent, our server Katie was absolutely perfect, and the food was delicious. And the coffee– oh my goodness. Amazing! I got the Tuscan Afternoon latte– such a treat! They have one of those Front Flip things you can scan to see if you win anything, & I did! My latte ended up being free. Woohoo!

Overcooked food Overpriced Menu Overlooked business: Even the latte’s milk foam was dumped in a cup like a pile of waste. Wouldn’t recommend to dine here at any time of the day. This place is conveniently located in the plaza close to hotels and other food options. Lured by good reviews and recommendation from my colleague I’ve had a breakfast here. I was excited about French cuisine Le Peep claims to have and ordered a coffee latte + Eggs Benedict with salmon. That’s what I’ve got: A coffee cup with latte where milk was dumped on top like a pile of litter. Forget the flowers and hearts baristas are laying out in the cups! This was a first sign that nobody cares about the food/drinks at this place. Unfortunately, I had a very limited time and stayed to try the failed attempt on Eggs Benedict. I got a plate with cold potatoes, open biscuit bread, huge overcooked salmon piece, as if I was ordering a dinner for two. This culinary mistake was topped by two soft boiled eggs unevenly distributed as if a two year old toddler cooked those. Why in the name of chefs don’t you have a timer, dear Le Peep cooks? Or an access to the YouTube channel that can teach you to poach eggs For Free?! Why are you using a piece of huge salmon steak, overcook it and try to place it on the small bread biscuits? Can peasants potatoes be at least hot when you serve the dish? The overall atmosphere at Le Peep’s is also lacking. Servers aren’t attentive, counter isn’t welcoming, the décor is old but isn’t charming. Dear, or dear… Needless to say it was one of the worst breakfast I had. I wouldn’t recommend this place to those who respect their taste buds.

The food is very good. Beware when ordering extra — I ordered hash browns instead of the peasant potatoes and it was an extra .49 cents. To add onions in the hash brows was an extra .99 cents.

Leep Peep is a brunch restaurant with a couple of locations in the area and I can say from experience that this is a super busy, but worth it location. The restaurant is laid out like a big upside down L with tables strategically placed along the floor plan. They do a good job using their space and are able to seat a good amount of people without making any of the tables feel like their on top of each other. The menu features a good amount of breakfast and lunch options. It’s not super fancy so if you can think of a normal breakfast or lunch dish then it’s probably on the menu. I will say I was pleasantly surprised to see the«Maryland Benedict,» that included the crabcakes. That was a nice touch. I’ve never had a bad meal here. The servers are quick to talk to you, take your order and make sure your meal is progressing like it should. Like I mentioned earlier, this is a busy location so be prepared to wait until you’re seated, but trust me, the wait will be worth it. Enjoy.

This is getting 2 stars for customer service by 98% of their staff. We arrived on a Saturday after the March of Dimes walk downtown, we had our dog, Bella Wella with us. There was a line at the door and when I put my name in I specifically said I wanted an outside table, due to the dog. They said that would be fine. GREAT! They told me a 20 – 30 minute wait, 40 minutes goes by and we see at least 3 empty cleared outdoor tables and the two young workers inside just staring at the wait list inside. I send Jason in and tell him to ask them, he goes and they say we have 3 people ahead of us. At this point the outdoor tables have been open for over 15 minutes. I am ready to just call it quits. The«chef» finally comes out and takes control back and we get seated immediately. He had a great personality and was very friendly. I give him 5 stars. The food is fine, I didn’t try their gluten free waffles or bread, the bread is Udi’s-YUCKKKKKK. We both had skillets, they came out tasting fine. Jason’s chorizo was better then mine. They needed more bacon in mine. I asked for a side of sour cream and salsa and got charged .80 cents just for sour cream. We got fruit on the side instead of bread, we literally got 4 small chunks of fruit… We may go back to try the gluten free waffle, but I will speak up sooner with their lack of customer service AND the fact that some 17 year old’s don’t know how to read a wait list… They do offer groupons frequently. The outdoor seating is not the most comfortable-iron chairs and table.

Went here on a Sunday around 11am while traveling by myself. It was also Father’s Day. Not the best idea I’ve ever had, but I bought a Groupon I needed to use. I arrived to a packed waiting area, not too surprised. I was told the wait would be 30 – 35 minutes. It was actually 45, probably a little longer. I was seated and ordered a specialty latte and an egg white omelette(the«white lightning»). The latte came in about 20 minutes, the food shortly thereafter. I would have liked the latte right away, which was definitely possible. The coffee station was right next to the waiting area and they did not appear very busy. My latte was pretty good. Not the best, but I’ve had worse. The omelette was not great. The chicken in the omelette was either canned or not fresh, and there was barely any in it. The green chiles were definitely canned, same with the salsa. I can imagine Robert Irvine or Gordon Ramsey eating this meal with looks of disgust on their faces. The fruit that came with the meal was fine. The toast was the best part of the meal. My server was nice enough, but visibly frazzled from how busy it was. I will not return to this restaurant.
