I went to this place because my wife loves Macy;s and I needed to get last minute gifts for my boys Dec 24. I was upstairs in the men’s department by the POLO section and was looking for gifts and found some items and my hands were full so I ask the lady cashier to hold them while I look around, I saw her hand them over to her assistant who was working with her. When I got ready to pay for my clothes. I proceeded to the cash register to pay for my clothes and my stuff was missing. I ask the assistant who received them for safekeeping what happened to my clothes? She simply said I don’t know and walked away to asked the other lady. I had to wait because they were looking for the items and when they retrieved them, the assistant clerk approached and looked at me and demanded«Arent you going to say Thank You to me?» That’s when I lost it and got into a screaming match with her. I told her I don’t know what type of customer service you were trained to exercise over here but you want me to thank you for misplacing my items to begin with? I told here I don’t have to say a Dam thing to you. I was very upset at this time, She was screaming back at me and said I was being rude to her, I replied by saying first of all I asked you a simple question and I was very calm when I said it? Where is my stuff? I demanded to see the supervisor and she said I don’t care about a supervisor. I said really? I ended up speaking with the other lady and asked to get a supervisor right now. After a few minutes a supervisor came up and it was Brooke who attended to me downstairs in the Jewelry section because I had just purchased some very expensive blue sapphire diamond earrings for my wife. I told her what happened and she was apologetic about the whole situation. She even said that I was very patient because Brooke actually attended to other customers in between me trying to find a gift for my wife. I was telling her that I don’t know who hired that lady but her customer service sucks. I have not had a chance to do a follow up regarding this incident and I hoped that Macy’s took corrective actions. I need to give them a low rating for not properly training that person on how to conduct herself when dealing with customers.

I have some mixed feelings about this macy’s location. i occasionally do lunchtime shopping, you know not looking for anything in particular but still occasionally trying things and so on. after browsing the store i had a few things to try on and had some issues getting them correctly back on the hanger so i did the best i could and put it on the rack where the employees sort through and return the merchandise. so as im walking out a women with a name tag asked me if i found anything i said no and we exchanged niceties. as i walk away and she walks toward the return rack i here her say, loudly, «thanks a f***ing lot for putting your crap back on the hanger». i just left. i was pissed. on the way to the door a very sweet women and i had a great conversation and she even talked me into getting a great piece of clothing. i don’ plan on going back because of the rudeness i encountered but i will say not everyone one there is cranky.

This is my favorite Macy’s in the area. I wear plus sized clothes at the moment, and they have the largest selection of any Macy’s I’ve been to here. The sales are AMAZING! I bought 2 men’s shirts as gifts, plus a dress and a nice top for under $ 50! The men’s department is great as well. There are 4 dressing rooms that are LARGE, and have a bench. This store has ‘downsized’ somewhat since the Oak Park Mall store has opened, but has almost anything you’d need for a gift or to wear(makeup, shoes, housewares, clothes, etc) is available. I hope that the Metcalf Mall doesn’t die out, or that Macy’s doesn’t close at this location. One thing: be VIGILANT about checking the prices of items on sale. Two of the 4 things I purchased did not initially ring up correctly, and the clerk was slightly impatient with me over the $ 4 difference. I am of the mind that if the $ 4 isn’t that much, why don’t YOU pay it then? Otherwise, it’s got to be right! Half off the lowest price of $ 22 is…$ 11! :) A bargain at $ 15 for an original $ 44 dress, but they are not updating their computers correctly. And don’t be in too much of a hurry in some departments… many only have one sales person/cashier at times. I’ll be going back and back and back… I’ve loved it since it was Jones when I moved here!
