Sears

As usual I went to the appliance center to replace the filter in my refrigerator. I was in there for about 15 mins, nobody helped me, in fact one of the assistants who was there saw me and walked in the other direction. I found what I was looking for then went to pay. One salesman was helping someone else, there were not other sales staff apparently available. I went to the clothing counter but there was a long line.
Returned to the appliance center. One assistant was helping a customer pay, as I walked up to the POS station, he closed the transaction and walked away! I followed him and asked him if I could pay and he looked right at me, said nothing and walked off to help someone else who apparently wanted a large appliance.
Eventually I was helped out in the main store again by a very helpful sales person who gave me a discount for my trouble after I complained, which was very good of him and the only reason this isn’t a one star rating. This store is the last store standing in Metcalf South which is a mall that must be closing soon. The clothing section is great but the appliance section is beyond bad — I will never go there again if I can avoid it. They must be on commission or something and helping someone with a $ 50 purchase is beneath them. Beyond terrible customer service in that section.

Wow, this place is BUSY. They had some great clearance prices.
We were there to get a vacuum and had already checked out what was available online, so basically we walked right up and said «give me that». He rang it up, got us some extra bags, we pulled around and they brought it to the car in like 15 seconds.

I went in to get vacuum cleaner bags for my 8 year old vacuum. I’m so happy they had them, but the biggest surprise was in the clothing depeartment. The clothes were beautiful! LandsEnd was the only brand but their fabrics were beautiful for Spring and the styles were really nice. I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. My expectation had been very low, but I definitely recommend heading over there. Clearance clothes ran mostly for the petites and plus sizes. It made me wish I were real tiny or real big, so my critisism is that there was not much in size 8 on sale. I’m sorry I didn’t take pics!

I ordered online and had my purchase delivered to the store for free. The pickup was fast and so easy! The people in the shipment pickup area were so nice and helpful! I was literally in and out in 5 minutes once I found the pickup area.
It was my first time visiting this Sears location and I will be back. The only down side was the cashiers in the men’s department. I didn’t see any associates on the floor so I hopped in line to ask one of the cashiers to point me in the direction. ALL of the cashiers were young girls and they were all chatty Cathie’s. The line only had 4 people in it, but I think it was the longest line I’ve ever stood in. When the young cashier was helping the woman in front of me she kept cutting the customer off to talk about having a «Galaxy smart phone» and how one of her coworkers fell asleep in the bathroom on her shift so the lady kept having to repeat herself. When it was my turn to be helped she completely turned her back to me to talk to her friend. When it was all said and done she did point me in the right direction and I found the shipment pickup area just fine. I think they should train the young employees better, but the store was so awesome I had to give it a 5 star!
Btw, there’s a vending machine for snacks and drinks in the shipment pickup area :)

This review is ONLY for the online «ship to store» feature. I made a purchase online and chose to ship to the local store for free rather than pay for delivery. Do printout your «parcel has arrived» email and bring it to the store as you will need to scan the barcode on the email at the kiosk. A little countdown clock started on the screen informing me that if I didn’t have my parcel in hand within 5 minutes I was getting a $ 5 coupon for my next purchase. I sat in the little plastic chair for exactly 3:42 and through the warehouse doors appeared a friendly young man with my parcel. No coupon for me! But I was impressed with how quick and simple the process was.
I will do that again!

I’m hovering between a 2 and a 3 for this store. This review is for the store itself, not the Sears Auto Center across the parking lot.
So why do I hover? There are some pretty ok things about this store, but also some negatives. There’s a Land’s End in the store and it’s right at the main entrance, so if I just want to try on some Land’s End stuff, I can hop in and out in a hurry. Also, they carry lots of the Kenmore Brand of appliances, and in some cases, their appliances are really high quality. Tonight, the hubby and I purchased a whole house humidifier there for 99 bucks which seemed like a pretty decent deal.
They’re the anchor store in what is essentially a dead mall, so people going to this Sears have to want to go to Sears, not a bunch of other mall stores. I’m ok with that since I’m not a big mall shopper, but for others, that could be a negative. I suppose the biggest negative at this store is the customer service. There is no pleasant way to say this, so I’ll just put it as bluntly as possible: It SUCKS! It really does. Tonight the fellow who checked us out could not have been less pleasant or helpful. And last summer, we attempted to pick up a lawnmower there that we ordered online, but when we arrived, we were told the computer system was down and to come back later. When later? «Maybe today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe next week. I don’t know.» Can you call us when it’s back up so we know when we can pick up the lawnmower? «We don’t do that.»

Perfect for the geriatric crowd. Everything here works at it’s own pace — -SLOW. Can’t say the service is unfriendly, it’s actually quite the opposite. I just prefer efficiency, the hare over the tortoise;)
