My family and I went for lunch the food was Good. Until we had some unexpected visitors on our table. We had 3 or 4 cockroaches on our table and also owner was yelling at employees. I asked waitress who the lady yelling was she said that is the owner Marilyn. Very poor Customer Service. We got up and left after seeing cockroaches waitress wanted to know where we were going. I told her we were leaving cause we had 3 or 4 cockroaches go across our table. Waitress reply was yes we know we are trying to get them under control but there are so many. NOTHANKYOU. I will NEVER be back and I am making sure everyone I know knows that they have roaches. I WOULDNOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACETOEATAT.

I am a regular and i think I’ve had the entire menu by now and I’m always satisfied. Definitely like the«BIGCOWBOYBREAKFAST» menu!!! Friendly atmosphere and the owner is really nice! On another note I have never seen any roaches or other bugs while eating.

Roach Races for Breakfast ! I have been a regular at the Santa Fe Café, I Just finished My Breakfast When I was joined by a ROACH walking across the breakfast counter NASTY! P. S. The owners husband owns Impact pest control company that services the restaurant !

I’m not much of a breakfast person… but today I was and it was delicious! The place was packed and we were seated quickly and service was great! They have a huge menu can’t wait to come back and try the lunch out.

While the food is decent, the service is always horrible. My sister and I have went a few times with the hope that it was just a fluke and every single time we’re treated terribly. I’ve never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant in my life. The waitresses and hostesses are rude and not attentive to refills on drinks. I don’t know if it’s because my sister and I aren’t 90 years ago or a family and don’t fit in with the usual crowd, but all I know is I will never go here again and pay to be treated like crap.

Not bad, not bad. We stopped in here last weekend and boy was it packed! So we took that as a good sign and waited outside. It’s a small place, but it’s home-y. I enjoyed the French toast I ordered. I had a sunny side up egg that was pretty runny, andI know that sunny side up are supposed to be runny, but this was liquid-y. Our server was nice and kept the coffee coming, which is always a plus in my book. It was average food. Can’t say one way or another if we would come back, but for the most part it was a pleasant experience.

Food: Aggressively bland and mediocre. Service: A few great servers amidst a crew that wanders aimlessly, and a front of house manager(possibly owner) who was consistently in every ones way. Atmosphere: Desperately trying to be homey. As long as you don’t go in expecting it to be the best you’ve eaten(as some reviews suggest) it’s pretty alright.

Santa Fe Café‘ is a family! Marilyn, the owner, warmly greets each and every visitor. The staff are very friendly and most have been there several years. The food is consistently delicious. We prefer to go for breakfast. Each time we bring a member of our family or our friends, there are nothing but raves. We reserved space for a memorial breakfast to honor my father-in-law. Marilyn assured us she would/could accommodate and they exceeded our expectations with friendly service and excellent food.

So cute! loved everything about the small town feel. The waitress was very sweet and quick to take our order. It was a super busy Sunday and I could tell the kitchen was slammed. My friend ordered the Irish Egg Benedicts and I got the traditional breakfast. Both were amazing and fresh, great place to get a quality breakfast.

We selected this spot based on the location(half way between our locations) and the great reviews. We met at 9:00AM on Friday morning and the place was about half-full. We both ordered breakfast. She: french toast, fried egg, bacon extra-crispy. Me: scrambled egg, bacon extra-crispy biscuit and side of gravy. The meal was good but not stellar. My biscuit was a bit dry and didn’t have great flavor. She was not all-that impressed with her french toast. Pleasant experience but not the great taste we were looking for.

We just moved down the street from Santa Fe Café and decided to give it a try. We are really happy we did! Our waitress was wonderful, helpful, suggestive, and incredibly pleasant. The management or owner was friendly and smiling and welcomed us in. The atmosphere was charming and adorable. It’s truly a hidden treasure!!! Then the food came and we were completely blown away. Everything was great and the prices were excellent! We will definitely return!

A mediocre breakfast and lunch diner. My first time at the Santa Fe Café was a casual breakfast experience. Everyone is friendly and the service was great. The only reason I dock the stars is just due to the food. It’s everything you would expect from a small strip mall breakfast place. I got the biscuits and gravy — which is how I usually can tel the quality of a breakfast place. The biscuits weren’t made from scratch and lacked temperature and flavor. The gravy seemed like the powered stuff you’d probably just mix water with and bring to a boil. It wasn’t inedible but it wasn’t really my kind of thing. Everything a little salty.

Classic American food diner. Plates under $ 10. Went on a Sunday morning and it was very busy– we got seated within five minutes but the food was quite a wait. Small area at bar for five people to sit. Area is mostly one large room with a side room so it was quite loud. Food was good and exactly as ordered. Waitress left pitcher of water on table and topped off coffee often. Pay at counter.

Santa Fe Café has quickly become our Sunday breakfast location. When it comes to breakfast, I like a little(granola bar, etc) or full blown café style breakfast. Santa Fe Café does a good job of filling that second option. The café is a decent sized restaurant in a small strip mall on 87th. It’s nothing special. The inside is a hokey good time of southwestern themed cheesiness. They really take the Santa Fe part of the name seriously with the décor. Normally this would bother the designer in me but it’s a diner/café in suburban KC… So really, I don’t expect much different. And who cares as long as it is clean and inviting, which it very much is. The menu is full of breakfast options, from smaller/lighter options to omelets, Benedicts, skillets, and the basics like biscuits and gravy. I don’t recall all the things I’ve tried but I can pretty much assume it was various combinations of scrambled eggs, toast, hashbrowns, bacon, cheese, and some other fillers. Also, I love country fried steak for breakfast. That was my choice today and I was not disappointed! The chicken fried steak was meaty and delightfully fried and crispy and delicious. Not a hint of gristle, not too little meat, not soggy anywhere… it was really good. the gravy was also delicious. Their scrambled eggs are really light and fluffy. Eggs are usually something I stay away from but theirs are really tasty and don’t leave me feeling blah like some eggs do. The bacon is crispy and delicious. The skillet I’ve had was good and filling. The hash browns are a good mix of a crispy side and soft side. My only food complaint would be that they could butter their toast a little more liberally. But that is the last thing I’m going to eat anyway so I’m usually too full to give a crap. The orange juice is FRESH squeezed and very orangy, if you are into that sort of thing(sorry, I prefer processed and not so, you know, fresh…) There are always lots of waitresses and they are quick and attentive. We had one who seemed not too interested in us or like she was having a bad morning but the second time in her section she was pleasant and welcoming so I’ll mark it up to an off day. The food is out quickly so you aren’t waiting long for your delicious food. If you are in the OP and looking for a satisfying breakfast, you can’t go wrong here. They also have lunch things but I’ve never been for that. Maybe someday.

Located in an older shopping center with an unassuming exterior, but the inside is nicely decorated, very clean, and cozy. Plenty to choose from on the menu — our family of four devoured everything we ordered(Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Banana Split, Blueberry Muffin). Service was speedy and friendly. A new KC favorite for us!

For six years, I lived right around the corner from this place and only went in once. I don’t really know why, I just always seemed to forget it was there. It’s tucked into a little strip mall by a nail salon, and everything there seems to blend in together, so it’s easy to just overlook it. But this time, I was back in town visiting my kids and we went here for breakfast and had a wonderful experience. My son, daughter, and I all got eggs benedict(my favorite breakfast in the world), and my granddaughter had pancakes. The portions were HUGE, and the fresh fruit cups with our orders were perfect. The server was quick to take care of us, constantly refilling the coffee, and did a great job helping to keep our little angel entertained. They were even kind enough to work out a discount for us, changing up a couple of coupons that we had. It’s nothing fancy, but the food is good and the service is friendly. So don’t just drive past… give it a try!

Took my partner in crime with me here for his birthday breakfast and boy were we surprised at how delicious the food was! He had been eyeing this place for awhile, because of all the great reviews on it. The service was excellent! The lady that served was was super nice and very quick in getting our orders in a timely manner. I ordered the cinnamon roll and it was quite heavenly. I was taken aback by it’s hot gooey center, it was so scrumptious and quite filling. It is by far the best cinnamon roll i’ve ever had in KC! It was literally baked to perfection. I hate it when the rolls are too sweet or not moist enough. Just when I thought nothing could top the cinnamon roll… BAM! The Hashbrowns ended up tasting like it had been from a breakfast in bed special at a high end hotel where I could never afford lol. I can’t gush enough about the hashbrowns. The top of it was baked to a golden crisp, not brown, but legit golden glaze to it. After you cut through the crisp, you get to the perfectly cooked potatoes underneath. I have never tasted hashbrowns cooked to perfection such as the dish that they made. Seasoned perfectly and man I would love to know their secret! When our waitress found out it was my partner’s birthday, she got him the Birthday crêpe! Boy was that delicious! It was filled with all kinds of berries and bananas. Great presentation and again not too sweat which I like! So if it’s your birthday… better speak up, so you can get a nice little treat… haha more like a hugh plate of crepes! This has definitely bumped itself to the tops of my list of favorite breakfast joints! So recap: Wait– super fast Service– EXCELLENT! Food– THEBOMB! Will I be going back there? — HECKYA! Now remember be sure to order the cinnamon roll and hashbrowns! oooooohhh also the fresh squeezed orange juice was muy delicioso!!! Happy Eating!

Staff were friendly and patient as I looked through the breakfast combos. I missed the specials and only notice them after I ordered. I wish they would have pointed them out whilst I was asking so many questions. They were hidden on the other side of the condiments. I should have looked there! Pretty standard breakfast food. A lot of gravy. The gravy wasn’t exactly the star of the show either… so I ended up pushing it to the side. Prices are reasonable.
