Last Wednesday, July 1st, Secure Medical Transport was hired to move my mom from her current hospital in Overland Park, Ks., to Good Samaritan/hospice in Olathe, Ks. The drivers arrived on time. They were aware and completely fine with me following during transport. Everything started out fine until we reached I35. Apparently the missed an exit, pulled to the left side of the highway on on 435! Cars were honking, I continued to the next exit and turned around. They were already gone. Upon arrival at Hospice, the delivery people were still in the parking lot. I confronted them, and their response was«Where did you go?» While eating candy, the driver nonchalantly said he missed his exit, and was going to turn around in the median. He apparently didn’t realize this was illegal. I reminded him, that my mom was precious cargo and he scared the crap out of me. No apologies were offered. I got the same response from the manager when I called him to voice my concerns. No big deal, he would discuss the issue with the drivers so they would be aware next time. Anyone who has had a family member going to hospice after a 3 month hospital stay, needs a hell of a lot more assurance that what I received. My mom arrived frightened and with an elevated heart rate. I would advise people to use another company if their insurance allows. I’m trying to remove a star… Unintentionally hit 2, but won’t allow me to change…
