Dude our group comes here every week and was saddened to learn you got rid of the steak fries for the crinkle cut fries. Please bring back the real fries and you’ll get that 5 th star ;)

Stopped in today for lunch and to watch some football with a buddy. We sat at our table for 15 minutes without a single person helping us. We stood up and walked out while the staff watched us and didn’t say a word. Place was nearly empty and every waitress was standing at the end of the bar talking. Will never visit Tanners again. I should know better because they have a reputation for horrible service. I have never walked out of a restaurant due to not being able to order food. We drove 5 minutes to Johnnys Tavern where we were seated and had service within a few seconds. Stay away from Tanners if you want to spend your hard earned money where it’s appreciated.

Had a fun family night here! Came in town from Houston and hand out with my family and we stopped here to eat and have drinks. I ordered the chicken nachos and they were pretty decent. The salsa however was another story. It tasted like a cup full of chili powder and was just not tasty! The waitress seemed overwhelmed because she was in charge of the entire back room. Seemed like they may have been a little short staffed. The long islands are good and they definitely don’t skimp on the liquor.

Two words — cheese balls. Delightful little mouthfuls of fried cheese… what could be better? Nachos are also great. Obviously not a great place to go if you’re on a diet. Ambiance is… well, awful. So is service. If my rating was solely based on service and ambiance… one star or less. But when you need that fix of fried cheese balls… Tanner’s is the place!

I have been coming to this location for years. Something changed! Last two meals were NOT good. Burnt tacos.. yep tacos, how silly! And today the chicken fried steak tasted like fish. The oil needs to be changed folks. … often! Sorry today one of my favorite dives just got a one year ban. I chose to spend money twice a week here. The only way to impact poor choices they are making is to not spend money with them. It’s may not be much to them but it is to me. See you in a year; I hope you fix it because you broke it.

I was super surprised at the quality of the food. Great beer selection and great place to watch a game, but the food was fabulous. The nachos were good. Lots of toppings with great chips! The burger was thick and cooked perfectly. The fries were average, but I didn’t mind. The atmosphere was low key and comfortable. I will be back!

This place is interesting… And not in a good way. It was crowded, thought it would be good… Not so much. Ordered a burger with cheese and mushrooms, got a burger with onions. I sent it back, they scraped most of the onions off, put on 3 – 4 mushroom slices and sent it back out. I told the waitress and she said, «Oh well» Plus, it was overcooked, had no apologies for that either. First and last time here!

Thursday night special of steak and baked potato hit us just right! Your choice of a Filet or Strip steak grilled to order(and ours was perfectly prepared) and a(at least) 1 lb. baker per order for just over what you’d likely pay for a burger dinner at most places. The steak special is only on Thursday – so get a reservation if you’re headed there. Nice people and attentive service were grease on the skids as we departed with our left overs – to provide a second meal…

I ordered the half rack of ribs with two sides weekend special($ 9.95) and a drink($ 2.25) at my table. My order was ready in about ten minutes. The ribs had a tasty sauce, and mostly fell off the bone. The beans were very good, but the vinegar-based cole slaw was just okay. Other sides were available. The serving sizes were generous. The interior was nicely done, with country music playing. I found the service to be both friendly, and attentive. Weekday lunch specials include burgers, meat loaf, roast beef sandwiches, chicken-fried chicken, and burritos for about $ 6.

This place is in close proximity to where I live so I’ve been here several times. Love the shit hole/dive feel. This is a great place to grab a beer and watch a game but make sure you eat before you come. Or, there is a cheese steak place(pepper jacks) right beside it that is spot on to eat at before having a few dessert beers. The 2 star rating comes from their food. It’s terrible… Like real bad. The mahi mahi tacos are a strange ground up fish tasting substance served on a bed of cheap cold lettuce with some imitation cheddar cheese. The menu said said cabbage, I was expecting slaw and I’ll be a son of bitch if it was neither. It’s all cheap shitty versions of what should be good bar food to compliment the cool, dive sports bar atmosphere. French dip sucks and the Rubin is worse. If you are forced to eat here go with the patty melt. Service is great though, every waitress I have ever had there was awesome. The annoying DJ/trivia guy will straight piss you off if you’re trying to watch sports though. If you’re feeling lucky, roll the dice. If not, you have many better options close by.

I go here all the time but never stayed while it was closing for the night. The redheaded waitress was the rudest, meanest server ever. She kept telling us to leave, that it was closing time. We are paying customers and shouldn’t have to feel like cattle. I get that she wanted to go home but please… I told her that she didn’t treat us that way when we walked in and shouldn’t treat us that way walking out and that when my drink was done that I would leave. She got real mad and told me to leave. I did. I wouldn’t recommend this place unless the management changes the attitudes of the servers.

I went here for dinner with a friend and the place was busy, but we got seated relatively quick. The food was pretty good for being a sports bar, But the beer ahh it was great! If you are looking for a quick bite to eat and a nice cold one, then I definitely recommend stopping by this place.

So it says in their website that they close at 2, butt they don’t. Second time there where if they don’t have enough customers there they close as soon as it doesn’t make them profit, they will kick you out. I was kicked out today at 1. Food will stop at 11pm. Sucks cause I really just wanted a place to hang out at with my friends. But it is what it is. Anyway, have fun if you go. When we asked why they closed so early? We were attacked saying its the owners fault and we shouldn’t blame the employees. Alright not pointing fingers. Sorry just wanted to find a place to hang out.

Tanner’s has never really been a disappointment, but they also have never really been ‘fantastic’ to me — the food is decent, the beer specials are worth a visit. I came one night when it was in the middle of their trivia night. I didnt get there in time to participate, but it was definitely fun to just listen. Great space, good serving staff.

I was very disappointed in the service level at Tanner’s tonight. I went there based on good internet reviews and my family waited over ten minutes before even being acknowledged. Place wasn’t even busy. It appeared to us the staff was too busy visiting with each other to worry about customers.

Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bit chicken lips. Tanner’s is as solid as a chain of bars with food goes. This location(119th and 69 Hwy) is one of the better locations compared to 87th Street and especially more than Antioch in Gladstone. Nothing out of the ordinary here, Good food, good selection of beer, and really good specials. Thursday night is steak night — a good price on strips and filets but usually really crowded. My oldest favorite here, however, will always be the chicken lips. I’m happy to eat like a 5 year old ordering chicken strips with their parents steak when it comes to these little guys. Inch thick fried chicken with your choice of dipping sauces. The dijon honey mustard never disappoints when paired with the lips. Friday night karaōke gets a little interesting, but what karaōke night doesn’t? This is the perfect stop for lunch, dinner, or a late night snack. Add some beer and drinks and it’s as good as the chain bar/grill scene gets around the area.

I normally like sports bars, but Tanner’s is far from my favorite. The hamburgers, wings, and«chicken lips»(chicken tenders) are mediocre. The only decent thing I have had on the menu is loaded chili cheese fries. Their«specials» on beer/drinks are nothing to write home about, unless you call a $ 412 bud light a deal. The service every time I have been there is terrible. Three or four different waitresses have been outright rude, including a manager who was off duty, playing drinking games in the bar as she was supposedly writing the schedule. She had the time off book and other papers on our table, and was talking to other waitresses about scheduling issues basically right on top of us, to where we couldn’t carry on our own conversation. First our waitress breezed by, barely stopping, and asked if we needed anything. The two people facing her said no, so she moved on. One of the people across the table, not facing her, had no chance to respond, so he asked the next waitress who walked by to have our waitress come back. She not only huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes, but came back and said«you SAID you didn’t want anything.» After he ordered his drink, she went up the off duty manager and relayed the whole story, within earshot, making us out to be the problem. Not only did the manager not come apologize to us for this ridiculous behavior, she too started talking about us and rolling her eyes. The only good thing I have to say about this place is that it is walking distance of my apartment, and that is the ONLY reason I would ever return.

There are plenty of TV’s to watch the game, the cocktails are strong and the appetizers are decent(I recommend you try the fried pickles). That’s about all there is to say. It’s a good place to grab a table and sit with friends while you drink. If that sounds fun then you’ll love it here. If you want to listen to good music and dance then I suggest you look elsewhere.

Not my kind of place. Granted, I usually go to bars on week nights when it’s much quieter and less rowdy, but here we go: We opened the doors and headed straight to the back of the place where the pool table and a few games were located. There was beer spilled on the pool table, forks on the floor, and a plate of mac and cheese laying on the ski ball game. There was a group of drunk young adults standing around the pool table, and we asked them if they were using the table. They said no, so we put our quarters in. ASSOON as we grabbed our sticks, this same group goes«Oh hey, we kinda want to play after all.» Then proceeded to continue to stand around the table, pressuring us to finish and making it very hard to shoot. My Malibu and Pineapple juice was $ 4.75. Noisy, very dirty, with obnoxious drunks. I’ll pass.
