twisters knows custard. The few times I have been here the service has been slow. but once you get your order you forget all about the service because you are too busy enjoying your just dessert. they do load up their treats with plenty of ingredients. it’s a good place to go for a treat in OP.

Yummy! My favorite place to get custard in the area. I order the New Yorker with butterfingers pieces. The New Yorker comes with cheesecake pieces and a choice of topping. They went heavy on the butterfingers(perfect) and had large chunks of cheesecake(so chewy). The concrete was also very thick, and not watery, like some other places.

Me and my friends always go here after a night out and it hits the spot everytime! I do suggest if you go to try the peanut butter fudge Sunday it is amazing!!! The only problem I have is that it takes forever for them to make their ice cream and they get quite a long line late at night!!!

Great custard, insane prices. 5 stars for custard, cleanliness, and service. Negative 5 stars for price/value.

This place, like most places I’ve experienced that people rave about, was the biggest disappointment ever. My friend and I ordered two malt drinks(chocolate and vanilla) and she asked for a cherry on hers. $ 10 for two small MALTS? Don’t get me wrong, the sizes were great but not for the freaking price. I would have at MOST expected to pay $ 3 for each before taxes, especially for the quality. The flavor didn’t even taste like a malt. Sonic’s malts taste more malt-y than this. I had a local family owned ice cream place back in Lawson, MO that charged half the price of this crap, made their own ice cream and the malt flavoring was heavenly. The dumb braindead highschool girls that work there can somehow make all those concoctions and twisters but managed to forget my friend’s cherry. The worse part of it, was that I didn’t’ even finish mine because my stomach was so painfully bloated after half of it and I got tired of chewing on improperly cooked custard bits that I threw it out. My friend had a sour milk taste in her mouth afterwards. Freddy’s is by far way better. My freaking malt tasted like it sat in the hot sun for about ten minutes before they served it to me. It tasted melted and even warm until I got halfway down. Maybe that was because even though we were the only customers with two workers, it took them almost 7 minutes to get our order to us.

This place has the best frozen custard I have ever had in my whole entire life, and I have had my share of frozen custard! The chocolate brownie caramel pecan twister is seriously to die for! You won’t regret one bite of it!

Best frozen treat in KC, bar none. The place is always clean and their custard is not the same mass produced stuff the competitors use. The vanilla is special and they seem to use high end products. They change the menu selections often and I always get great service. Once my wife mentioned to the owner that her shake was too thick to drink through the straw. The next time we went there were new, larger straws. Like I said, great service. The cost is in line with any premium product. It’s definitely worth it. They have a nice walk up window to order and see the cleanliness of the store or a drive thru. If you want bottom shelf product head to DQ or Sheridan’s. If you want top shelf, head to Twisters.

In general I feel like ice cream has gotten out of hand, over $ 20 to take a family of four out for a treat is crazy. This custard was pretty good, I liked it better than Sheridan’s but not as well as Custards Last Stand, which of course you can’t find in Jo Co anymore. If I were in the neighborhood and craving ice cream I might go back but it is a long way from my house and not worth a special trip.

I love Twisters! Next to the Palozzo theaters, it’s a nice place to go for frozen custard, I like it better than Sheridans! They have better and different concretes. They also sell food there as well, Service is always good, and friendly as well. I have to admit, I’m a little addicted

OK this review is simple. I find ice cream(all all variations of ice cream) overrated. But here is goes… D&^N IT this place is good. Get the New Yorker with Strawberries. You will not be disappointed!

Yummy custard, reasonable prices. A small(12 oz. not sure, but it’s pretty generous) with one mix-in is around four bucks. No seating, just a walkup window and a drivethru. They’re currently running a date-night special, two cups and two movie tix for the theatre next door, for $ 22. Try the New Yorker… cherry cheesecake FTW!

This traditional custard/ice cream place is okay, nothing to write home about. The taste of the custard is above average. The prices are on the high side. Strawberry shortcake sundae is $ 5.50. There is a walk up window and drive thru lane. There is no place to actually ‘walk’ into the store but there are some benches(no umbrellas or shade) set up outside if you want to eat your ice cream outside. This place only accepts cash and visa/mc. The location across from the BV ball fields make it a popular choice for ball players in the evening.
