Fuddy Duddy’s Fudge Factory

ok, so while i really liked this place the 2 times i’ve been there, this place is a little hard to review for me. the store is very nice and has a lot to offer, some of which is labeled as other people’s products (i believe they were jars of sauces and jellies), a lot of which i assume is other people’s products (bagged snack mixes), and some of which is hard to tell if it’s other people’s products (assorted chocolates). according to their website they claim to make their own fudge, truffles, and cookies, which is great because out of everything i tried, their fudge and cookies were really really good. one of the truffles i had was really good as well, while the other one i was underwhelmed with. i know this place has a small staff, but if they got rid of a few things and everything here was homemade then this review would easily be a 5. i bought some peanut butter cups and some almond buttercrunch. 3 peanut butter cups were $ 5, and 5 small pieces of the buttercrunch were also $ 5. the PB cups were ok, the texture was good but the flavor was kinda off. i looked at the ingredients and the first one listed was maltitol, which i had never even heard of. i looked it up and it’s a sugar substitute. a couple other ingredients also seemed iffy to me. as for the buttercrunch, it was the worst i’ve had. no flavor and awful texture, you can’t even chew and swallow all of it, it gets stuck in your teeth and you’re forced to spit it out!
this place has a $ 10 credit card minimum, which isn’t really an issue because it’s so easy to spend a lot of money here! their fudge is great, and they aren’t afraid to let you sample it, the staff here is definitely very nice. and they had this one cookie that i absolutely loved, it was a cranberry cookie with an orange glaze on it. i’d never seen a cookie like that before but it was amazing (some walnuts would have been great in it though!)
so definitely check this place out, it’s totally worth it, just stay away from the buttercrunch and PB cups

Fuddy Duddy’s is the best place to get a gift for someone who loves chocolate or any sweet hand made confections. The staff will make up anything you want – including caramel and nut covered apples! They are out of this world and only $ 10. I nice gift for a dinner party, too. Bring your kids here and they can leave with something delicious for under $ 2. Housed in a historic storefront, in the wonderful village of Owego, this is a must-​stop!
