Great food, fresh. Friendly service. Loved the chips, salsa and fresh guacamole. Highly recommended.

A friend and I traveled here from binghamton after a suggestion from one of our teachers at the University. The ambiance was nice, and the food was decent. The younger waitress in the front was super nice and helpful. We ordered a burrito, tostada and a pollo lima taco. All were pretty good, especially for the area(coming from new york city), but not amazing. Would go back.

My go-to when I crave a burrito! It’s build your own. All fresh, tasty ingredients! Choose a protein. Then pick your fillers. I love that I can get a vegetarian one. I always get it smothered. Kind of a limited menu. They offer tacos, burritos, taco salad, nachos, quesadillas, chimichangas, and chile rellenos. Great guacamole! Atmosphere is very comfortable. We’ve taken our kids there several times. Very casual. Order your food then sit down and wait for them to bring it to your table. Friendly service. My only gripe is — don’t expect a real margarita. No liquor license. But they do sell bottles of Mexican beer and Mike’s Hard Margaritas. Fresh coffee(they brew it with a Keurig).

My go to spot for the best build-your-own burrito in the area! I like that I can choose a vegetarian option. The burrito is satisfying and they use fresh ingredients. Splurge a little and get the chips with cheese and salsa… You order and pay at the counter and get a number, food comes out relatively quickly. Bus your own table etc. Very laid back environment with a variety of patrons. Hipsters, Families, Senior Citizens etc… May be intimidating to order at first if you aren’t sure but they are very friendly and helpful and you just need to ask if you want clarification. Outside deck seating is nice when the weather is warm. I’ve been there a ton of times and always come away happy.

Great place to go for a quick and enjoyable lunch or a fun dinner. The atmosphere is relaxing and service is great. They have seating on their back deck overlooking the Susquehanna — great in the warmer months. The location is also convenient for a walk around downtown Owego or trips next door to the Barleycorn. It’s a staple of restaurants in the area!

Great, fresh Mexican food at very reasonable prices. And they serve beer and wine. What more could you ask for?!

Solid guacamole and tacos. Was a little thrown off by the order and sit setup. Would have preferred table service. Overall, cool place and solid food.

Tacos were great! Would recommend the carnitas, carne asada, or pescado baja. didn’t care too much for the pollo Lima, and didn’t try the others. Nice inside atmosphere, and worth the drive from Ithaca or surrounding areas. Lovely staff – helpful and kind.

Loved Las Chicas Taqueria! Such a relaxed and fun atmosphere. We were looking for someplace semi-quick and GOOD to eat. They have everything tacos, chimichangas, quesadillas, burritos, chips, desserts… and more. I loved the placement of the menu on the wall. You order at the counter and then they bring it out to you. There is a beautiful back deck that overlooks the river(had it not been raining… I would have been there). They also had some alcoholic choices from margaritas to Mexican-beer. My dinner date ordered two steak tacos and I made my own steak burrito. The food didn’t disappoint. I honestly, can’t wait to get back here!

Small town friendly local Mexican place. The service was friendly, casual, but attentive. We had the tacos and enchiladas. Quality of the food was good, but for Mexican food, it was on the bland side. This is probably the local taste preference. The place was clean, and the view from dining on the patio, over the river and the river trail, can’t be beat. Reasonably priced, and very clean.

Great atmosphere — and outdoor seating overlooking the water. All ingredients are FRESH and the salsa(in particular) is fantastic — home-made and fresh. We enjoy their taco salad and all varieties of burritos. Nice, friendly staff and always good company in Owego.

Ingredients were fresh Service was good Nothing to write home about This was my first time in New York, more specifically Owego. … I’d go back just to try something else on the menu, was not a fan of the taco that I had

Tacos were served on homemade ‘tortillas’. They were so salty and tasted more like flattened white bread circles. Way too small for a taco shell, looked raw and tasted horrible. The filling was pretty tasty for the carnitas and fish taco, but the carne Assad was inedible. It was so dry and gritty. As for authenticity, the kitchen is staffed by young white college kids. Hardly a true Mexican taqueria. $ 4 for each taco is just an insult as well but price aside, they were below Taco Bell quality. I will never come in here again.

Hands down, best Mexican I’ve ever had. I realize those are fighting words but I stand behind them. I travel a lot and love the taste of authentic Mexican food. I ended up at Las Chicas by way of a recommendation from my daughter. She has been here about a year ago on a class outing. She came home raving about the place. I’ll admit the menu can be a little overwhelming at first but I figured it out pretty quickly. My daughter had highly recommended the steak quesadilla from a previous visit but I had my heart set on a steak burrito. I opted for the Marinated Steak Burrito with the 3-cheese blend, Pico de Gallo, Spanish rice, sour cream and guacamole. They also had red onions, jalapenos, chipotle slaw and a few other fillers I did not choose. The fillers are unlimited, pick them all of you dare! After ordering we sat and waited for the food to be brought to the table. The restaurant was cozy but it was easy for us to find a table. We loved the artsy decorations inside. They also have an outdoor seating area if the weather allows(it was raining during my visit) Our wait for the food was maybe about 5 – 10 minutes. Not really that long. The staff was friendly and attentive. The portion-size was spot on. I’ve been to way too many Mexican restaurants where they overstuff the burritos. Las Chicas is definitely quality over quantity. I walked away full but not regretting that I stuffed myself. The ingredients tasted so fresh! I particularly loved the Spanish rice. They have a great selection of hot sauces to choose from to spice up you dish even further. I threw in a little ghost pepper sauce to turn up the heat in my burrito. Honestly, this was the best burrito I’ve had in a long time. Lastly, it’s only fair to mention the prices here are very affordable. We fed a family of four for under $ 30. That’s a good deal in my book. The location was very convenient for me since we were headed south down the Southern Tier Expressway. It was just across the bridge from my route. Sadly I don’t travel through Owego more often or this would become a regular stop for me. Loved this place and will definitely be back next time I’m in the area. Thank you Las Chicas!

As authentic a meal as I’ve ever had in about the last town you’d expect it. Taco salad shell was sublime, chicken and carnitas were delicious, and homemade taco shells were soooo good. Lost a star for seemingly broken AC and a lot of flies.

Las Chicas provides fresh, delicious food, at reasonable prices. The menu isn’t huge, but what they do, they do well. I’ve tried several of the different types of tacos, and all have been delicious. The carnitas is tender and flavorful. Both varieties of the chicken taco are good, but I prefer the pollo lima to the pollo verde, as I’m not a huge fan of chipotle rubbed chicken. The carne asada is probably my favorite, at least for now. We also tried the beef, cheese, and bean dip with chips, and found it very satisfying, and the portion size was very good for three people. A limited selection of beer is offered, including several Mexican beers. I believe I remember seeing Tecate, Corona, and Dos Equis. They also feature a bottled pomagranate sangria that packs a bit of a punch, and is quite delicious. The service style is simple: order at the counter, sit down, and the food is delivered to you. Hopefully yours is delivered faster than mine generally is. Still, the food is worth the wait, most of the time. Everyone who works there is friendly, it’s just slow service sometimes. The restaurant itself is very pretty: high ceilings, brightly-colored walls, witht the menu written in bright colors on chalkboards. Overall, I was highly satisfied with this place. Owego is a bit of a drive for me, and as I do not drive, I have to talk a friend into coming to lunch with me here. No one has ever regretted making the drive out!
