Had a very tasty dinner last night. After reading the reviews I opted for the ½ chicken with green beans and French fries on the side. My friend ordered the 4 pc fried chicken and was disappointed that she didn’t know it came with gravy(should have paid more attention to the menu) and she felt it was overdone but this is from a critic who is never pleased! The Service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Thank you for your patience with us. Did witness a lady falling and hitting her head. Everyone in the restaurant was concerned for her safety and worked together to provide her comfort. I will be back and with other people! P. S. No cocktails or beer available yet but they’re working on it.

Great service, atmosphere and food! I had the Tour of New Orleans which was a little of everything! Being from Louisiana I was not expecting much but was very impressed! I would defiantly come back.

Top notch really. Got the bbq ½ chicken with the white bbq sauce a few minutes ago. Delicious and HUGE! Great value for money! Everyone is super friendly as well! Owosso’s best restaurant by a Louisiana mile!

Incredibly good meal, the tastes were authentic and generous. We will definitely be back! Wonderful NOLA menu– vast but not overwhelming. You must try asap! I hear they will have their liquor license in spring of 2016… That would just be icing on the cake as without it, this place is still a must visit… Frequently!

Erin was an exceptional waitress. The food was outstanding. Exceeds way above the expectations of a small town, one of a kind restaurant.

Oh my gosh, this place was AMAZING!!! Who would think to find a Cajun restaurant that brings the flavors of ‘Nawlins out to the small town of Owosso? Well, my best friend happened across this and said we HAD to go here. My wife and I are foodies and, although we trusted his opinion, we were nervous about it. Turns out we had no reason… This was hands down the BEST Cajun we have ever had — it had a masterful balance of spiciness and flavor and everything was perfectly executed. We started with the Fried Alligator appetizer — they were perfectly fried, crispy and not greasy, and the dipping sauce was tasty. My daughter, who is not a fan of spicy food, went with the Shrimp Bacon Cream Pasta and she was in heaven. I had«Rebel without a Cause» and it was delicious and the crawfish was cooked well and not rubbery, my only issue is that I wish they gave more sauce — I had a lot of bread left over. My wife had the fried chicken platter(with the gravy on the side) — the portion was huge, it was enough for two meals, and the chicken was fried perfectly, just as were the appetizers. My friends both ordered the Shrimp Curwood and it was«the star of the show» — it was a Whole. ‘Nutha. LEVEL! Spicy but controlled, rich and flavorful. We had the Key Lime Pie for dessert, it was so rich and so thick, it could almost be called a Key Lime Cheesecake. Sooooooo Delicious! The only drawback from the night(it was a Saturday) was the fact that they had a guitarist whose amp«was turned to 11.» It was so loud from the music it made table conversation virtually impossible. I am counting down the time to my next visit to my friend’s house and we WILL make another trip here.

New to the area and couldn’t get a table at our first choice of restaurants. Lucky break for us! Small and cozy, great atmosphere, loved the live music and the food was fab. Had the pasta with bacon cream sauce and shrimp and will have it again! The key lime pie was perfect, like a cheesecake. yum. Great service and food came quickly. Would be 5 stars if they served alcohol!

We were excited to try this place out. Got there a little after 5PM hoping to get a table without a reservation. The place was not busy. But we were told it’ll be 20 minutes before they could sit us. Took my phone number. Waited. Got the call and was told 40 minutes to an hour before we could have a table! Quite disappointed.

Awesome food, atmosphere and music! Tried fried avocado and pork belly appetizers… both delicious! Cup of gumbo was flavorful and hearty full of veggies, chicken and sausage. Our party of 3 shared a platter piled high with shrimp, catfish, calamari & hushpuppies, served up with delicious sauces and really tasty bread. We finished with the TASTIEST and TALLEST slice of key lime pie we’ve ever had. Just awesome! Thanks so much JaLynne, for super friendly service! We will be back!

I just ate here for the first time. It was an amazing Cajun experience, excellent dinner! Also, the staff was personable and genuinely caring. They all seem to love their jobs and people. Best food and staff I have encountered in quite some time.

1. Food is excellent! 2. Price also excellent! 3. Atmosphere, here is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5… music on Friday night much too loud for dinner, and if you get a west facing booth around 7pm in the summer your eyes will water for about 20min.(Soooo bright) and the shades were down! 4. Service — the servers were so nice and knowledgeable you couldn’t help but feel welcome. 5. We will definitely eat there again!(Hint, make a reservation on Fri or Sat night)

This place is top notch. I am just passing through and I have not had anything this authentic since I was in the Big Easy itself. I recommend the gator bites and the Bayou Fried Rice. You can’t go wrong with those two.

We moved up from a houston, TX last year. We used to eat soooooo much food that would be considered Louisiana cooking, or souther creole. This place fails to even come close. The service is extremely slow(we’ve been for brunch and dinner), and the food itself is way below par. I’m sorry Lulas, but your just not cutting it.

A nice taste of NOLA in Owosso, MI! The jambalaya was delicious! The spices were great and the chicken and andouille tasted handmade and not processed. Yum!

Nice atmosphere. Good food for the most part… But every time I go someone’s food in my group is cold. The fried chicken appetizer was spicy and flavor full but had barely any chicken. Chicken and waffles — the waffles were cold and saturated in the sauce. I will admit the sauce made the dish but I would have preferred nice crisp waffles. Mac and cheese is amazing. I like this place but I wish they would better execute their dishes.

This was quite the find! To get it out of the way right away, I’m giving it a four and not a five because they don’t serve alcohol and the flavors are very good, but could be better. Obviously if I disagreed with the flavors, I wouldn’t be giving such a high review. In any case, it’s such a joy to have some Cajun food in the area. Everything is made in house, everything! The price point is reasonable. And the food is actually really good. They smoke all their meat in house and it comes through in their dishes. I had a shrimp, bacon, and grits dish. I dot typically like grits, but they made me like grits! I can’t wait to return!

Lula’s Cajun is second to none! We drive 35 miles every time we get the chance and are never disappointed! We’ve tried nearly everything on the menu including many of their every-changing specials. The food is always excellent and you leave wanting to come back for more. They offer vegetarian and gluten-free options as well. The restaurant is small but homey and chances are you’ll see the owner, John, over-seeing the restaurant and speaking to patrons. Alcohol isn’t served but you won’t need it to enjoy yourselves or your food. Live music is frequently offered on weekend evenings and Sunday brunch. It’s tasteful and never so loud you can’t hold a conversation. Their menu changes slightly with the seasons. I’ve never had something I didn’t care for but some things I liked better than others. Their fried chicken is the best next to my great granny and you’ll surely want to order extra cream gravy. Their french fries are shoe strings but they’re awesome for sopping up any extra sauce left on your plate. My old standby is the Rebel Without a Cause. It’s a pile of crawfish tails served over two pieces of Lula bread(garlic toast made out of their homemade french rolls used for po’ boy sandwiches) topped with a bacon cream sauce. It’s enough to stuff you for one meal or fill you up and take half home. You can’t leave without having dessert. That being said, we NEVER order dessert in a restaurant. Their beignets are just like Café Dumonde in New Orleans. The Bananas Jodie are delightful if you like crepes. The best thing on the menu, yes — the entire menu, is their key lime pie. It’s creamy, silky, and not a hint of anything fake about it. Give Lula’s a try — you won’t be disappointed!

I am not sure how this location has garnered such positive reviews. We had the Spanish Fisherman’s Stew and Chicken and Andouille Jambalaya. The fisherman’s stew was originally served without any seafood and only sausage. After inquiring the waitress apologized and brought out a bowl of crayfish to add to it. The Jambalaya was bland and was much different than what I have had in Louisiana. Their Andouille was also very bland, likely attributing to the overall flavor of the Jambalaya. Overall a disappointing experience.
