My last impression was that this place has lost it’s way. The meal started with a bland mediterranean sampler platter and having to nag the server for bread(to get around the super stale pitas that the platter came with). I got a pasta dish for my entrée which tasted like bread crumbs due to the amount dumped on it, and the«crème brûlée» was a sad joke compared to their previous superior efforts and it consisted of nasty vanilla pudding with burned table sugar on top of it. I complained to the waitress who basically said«bad luck there!» and didn’t offer to take the nastiness back, let alone take it off the bill. In short, everything was a low watt representation of what it actually purported to be, but yes, the prices are the same. If I want dive bar food and dive bar service I can at least pay dive bar prices, elsewhere.

Have eaten at the Wrought Iron grill many times on our way back from MSU basketball games always good food and service! Had our Valentine dinner there last Sunday and it was outstanding, staff well prepared for the large crowd and food was delicious! Love the trains themed atmosphere.

The beer is good; the food is good. We come here every year before or after the Polar Express.

Food is inconsistent. I will say when it is good it is. Good But the staffs lack of empathy is ridiculous. Brought a gift certificate in with a coupon for $ 20 off since we have been there on a regular basis. The manager came over and condescending said too bad. I then went to give her my card and she walked away, then I asked if she was taking my card and we were left there waiting. What happened to customer service? We ordered a Brie appetizer yesterday it was awesome, neither of our dishes were cooked to temp tho. Today the app(same one). Was burnt and gross. Their staff needs lessons on consistently providing the customer service their price dictates they should give.

The best Owosso has to offer. For a town this size that has a college campus you would think there would be a few real good restaurants and some night life. Maybe 70 years ago but not now. If you need to eat your covered Owosso has a lot of places that have food… But if you want to dine out there really is only the Wrought iron grill. Food is very good, wine list, and beer selection satisfying, and atmosphere above the Owosso norm

Stopped by on a whim for lunch and what a pleasant surprise! We had no idea Owosso had such a lovely place to eat! Delicious salmon and my husband loved the ahi tuna sandwich. Service was very, very good with the waitress asking if we were local. When we told her no, she told us a little about the restaurant and encouraged us to visit again. We assured her we would be sure to make a special trip as we felt the food and atmosphere truly warranted it. From Williamston about a 30 minute drive. It’s so nice to find these little gems. Highly recommend!

Well, I was told it was great but was disappointed. Besides being located across from an out of business casket factory, I found the menu and ambiance lacking. Trying so hard to be trendy I feared the establishment might pull a hipsternia, the seating was uncomfortable and the lighting neither helpful nor ambient. I got a burger. No one can mess that up, right? Gross. I could barely recognize it as beef due to an entire spice rack that must have spilled on it and no non«edgy» sides or accouterments. Also, the pop tasted off as well. I would say ho hum, but it left me hungry and a little traumatized. It is a pass for me.

We had noticed this place several times as we passed by and made a note to try it. Glad we did but sorry we waited as we are sure to return. We were greeted by a friendly hostess as soon as we entered. It was Sunday(not our«normal» day to eat out). The bar was open but not busy. The dining area isn’t super big but doesn’t feel cramped. We were seated at a nice booth(several were open at the time). Our waitress explained the beer & wine list and also shared several specials. We were interested in an appetizer and opted for a flatbread pizza. «Good choice» she said«I had it for lunch». We also ordered drinks(a wheat beer for me and Diet Coke for my wife) and our dinners. I have to say the timing of the food delivery was perfect which is often an issue. Not here. We had enough time to enjoy the appetizer(she was right — the flatbread pizza was excellent). Nice, large flatbread, fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil — awesome! Then the entrees came. My wife ordered a Mexican beef special while I opted for a beef stroganoff — also a special. Both were superior. The stroganoff was hot. The noodles not overcooked, the beef was tender but had the taste of having been cooked to order and I’m betting the sauce was home made, not out of a can. Seasoning was right on. My wife’s dish was spectacular. I noted that both were beef dishes but both had excellent, distinctive tastes of their own. Obviously the meal was excellent but I want to note that the wait staff was very friendly without being overly so which is a tough thing to master. Good job! Looking forward to visit #2.

It’s refreshing to have a meal that the chef obviously takes great pride in. The food was exquisite. We sampled a number of the fresh mixed drinks and craft beers, each one tasted better than the last. The deserts were also prepared with a great deal of pride that shines through with every delicious bite. To top it off, the service was excellent, our waitress Rachel was very pleasant and made our visit even that much more enjoyable, only good things to say. We will definitely be back and it is well worth the drive from swartz creek.

Visited for the first time. Food was amazing… Jambalaya flat bread $ 11.99. Grilled chicken, shrimp, Andouille sausage, peppers, and onions on a hand rolled flat bread crust with creole sauce and cheddar jack cheese. WOW! New York strip(gf) $ 23.99. The king of steaks, char-grilled to perfection. Served with baked potato, Chef’s vegetable and veal demi-glacé. MELTINYOURMOUTH apple cider brined pork chop(gf)(m) $ 17.99. Boneless Devries pork loin grilled and topped with clove apple chutney and crispy pancetta. Served with whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. UNBELIEVABLE Ended the meal with Bread Pudding. GREAT! A decent beer selection, but would have appreciated more stout or porter choices. Now the down side. Our server Amanda was terrible. Inattentive, slow and just not friendly. We waited and waited for almost everything. Bread was brought at the END of the meal. Never an offer to refill our coffee. So I am torn about returning, food verse service. Hmmmmmm. Hard to appreciate good food when you are frustrated by the service.

Great place for a bite or a great craft beer. Just driving through, or your set spot. I’ve always enjoyed stoping in. It’s more then just a place to eat. There are many shops inside.

When you live in the Mid-west dinning alfresco is a real treat and in staying with their name they have a great front patio with heavy, yet comfortable, classic wrought iron furniture. We both started out with the Strawberry Rhubarb Mojito as we are connoisseurs, and agreed it was the second best we’ve ever had. Lots of fresh fruit and great flavor! Service was great, we were greeted walking up to the door and water’s were refilled with consistency. The menu is all quite inventive which made it a hard decision. You are served complementary bread that is soft and a bit crusty accompanied by a small plate of olive oil, flavored butter and garlic. I found the garlic to be a bit pungent but my grandmother enjoyed it. Half Wedge Salad $ 4.99– Was delicious and beautifully presented. I was a little worried about the sun dried tomatoes but they were a welcome addition of flavor! Grilled Salmon $ 19.99 — Grilled salmon topped with shallot truffle honey glaze. Served over green apple crab risotto and grilled asparagus. The salmon was thick and cooked to perfection. I enjoyed it but would prefer a little less sweet maybe. The risotto and asparagus were delicious! Rib-eye with Cherry Sauce — Specials Menu — The sauce was delicious, meat was a little fatty though I think that cut generally is. Overall an awesome experience, not cheap, but I will be driving the 20miles to dine here again real soon!

Really good menu, draft beer and food. Horrible pour on my beer and expensive. Some pints cost $ 9 and mine lost about 10% to foam.

My wife and I took a ride up to Owosso and stopped here for lunch. We were given a dinner menu and the entrees off of this were pretty pricey. We then were given the brunch menu whose selections were pretty sparse. We finally decided on one of their flat bread specials(think lightly crusted pizza) and an order of chicken skewers. When we got our food the chicken was tasty but cold. The flatbread bacon onion and cheese was tasty and filling. Our service was pretty marginal. It was like a restaurant that was trying very hard to be upscale but whiffs on the little things that makes for a pleasurable experience. The décor and atmosphere was nice. Now that we’ve been there once I don’t know that we’ll ever go back.
