Just got to try this out over the weekend. The outside area is very nice, inside is average. As far as the food goes, I was fortunate enough to try a few dishes. The burger I had was… OK, I guess. The Sheppard’s Pie was fine, nothing spectacular. Finally, the sausage egg and cheese burrito was decent enough. While reviewing the menu, I had come to the conclusion that there’s really nothing special about this place. The menu is extremely average with nothing you can’t find at just about every run of the mill American food joint(despite the«Irish» title). Prices were average. To summarize, this place is average… that’s about it.

Had the best burger… Cooked exactly as I asked. Beer battered onion rings were very good… Service was fast and friendly!!! Glad this place is part of my hometown!!!

First and last time I’ll come here. Very disappointing. I ordered Grilled Salmon and my daughter ordered Chicken Fingers. The best part of my dish was the salmon. The vegetables were frozen and the rice just tasted«off». My daughter’s chicken fingers were the best part of the meal. So, if you come here, you may want to order the appetizers. That may be a better bet.

This could easily be a four or five star as the dining areas are open, with wood and a nice amount of filtered light, fireplace within a converted 1780’s structure. The bar is also welcoming with nice wood and light. The servers are nice and polite and the owner is wonderful. Unfortunately, they do have much of a beer or liquor selection. The food is basic, but could shine if it was a straight up Irish offering. The chili was bland and the beer that washed it down, although local, was forgettable.

My advice if you are traveling on route 67 thru Oxford is to keep traveling north or south out of town to stop and get a beer. Even better, stop at a packy and pick up some cold ones and call your friends to come on over.

Went to grab drinks with my family after my Grandfathers funeral. After an hour we were asked by the manager to «please be quiet because the dinner crowd was there.» It was 5pm on a Saturday. I have never been to an Irish bar that asks their patrons to be quiet. Skip this place if you are trying to have a good time.

The food here is decent and priced appropriately for the area. Nothing really exciting on the menu — Wine selection is bad, but they seem to be more of a pub /beer type place so I can’t really fault them for that entirely. The service is just ok — not as quick as they could be considering how slow it was on a Friday, but our orders were accurate and they were pleasant. This is a good place if I’m ever in a pinch and need somewhere local to grab dinner other than takeout, but it’s not really exciting or good enough to make me crave coming back.

Would have been a good review but I walked out to leave got to the parking lot turned around went back to get my left overs 2 min later and they had cleared the table and threw out my container instead of coming out side to see if I was still there or leaving it at the bar

This review is for the Mother’s Day brunch on 5÷10÷2015. First off, a family member invited us to come along, and I was not aware of the cost per person. $ 25 per person for a buffet? Sticker shock for sure when the bill arrived. The food was just ok, definitely not worth $ 25 in my opinion. Should have been 20 bucks, at the most, and that’s pushing it. The buffet was set up outside on the deck, in the hot sun. My wife was grossed out by a hair she found in the salmon. The servers were good — polite and courteous. But, to top it all off, there was a 20% gratuity added to the bill. Yes we had a party of 10, but come on, it’s a buffet ! I will not be doing the Mother’s Day brunch again. There are much better options in the area.

Dined here for the first time tonight and we loved it! The food and service were phenomenal as well as the atmosphere. This place is a welcome and MUCH needed change to an area flooded with Italian restaurants that are too cookie cutter and mostly sub par. A broad and very reasonably priced menu is offered ranging from traditional Irish corned beef and cabbage to burgers(I had a delicious shepard’s pie!). We’ll be making this a regular stop for dinner out!

Finally made it to the Shebeen despite living only a few miles away. I was hesitant at rushing over because of reviews stating poor service and just OK food. I found no issue with service since our group was fortunate to have waitress Anastasia as Unilocal reviewer Kerri had since she did a great job, especially considering it was a packed Saturday night. I did find the food just OK but I’m more the 121 Restaurant type. I wasn’t disappointed with the food because it was about what I expected it would be. Other people may find the food fine. Some food comments: honey buffalo wings OK but they lacked depth of flavor. The reuben spring rolls could have used more time in the fryer and they were bland. A gorgonzola burger with sautéed onions was cooked just right but the onions were only half sautéed so they were chewy. Good bun. Fish and chips not bad, yes a little greasy, but good flavor. French fries basic and boring. Onion rings better than average. Our friends, not«foodies», had the lobster mac & cheese and a chicken pot pie(both specials) and they said they liked them. My Guinness was a perfect Guinness. We did not get desert. Prices were a little on the high side but not by much. In closing I would like to see the chef strive for perfection and add to the menu Irish favorites like corn beef and cabbage, a Dublin coddle, a hearty stew, colcannon, and potato and leek soup. Oh yes, and clone Anastasia.

So i’ve been here a few times and for some reason I keep thinking it’s going to get better. There is a serious problem with their beer on tap. I wasn’t the only one who noticed. I watched another customer and is wife take a sip of beer and make faces. I called them over to where I was sitting and we talked about the bad beer. I had returned mine and ordered something different. Again… different brand, not good… it seems like there is too much carbonation in the taps. The beer, even the Guinness was watery and too carbonated with bubbles. The other couple who had the bad beer sadly continued to drink it and not return it. So I ordered a bottled beer… well that one looked lie it had been in the bin for awhile… ON top of it all the bartender was at the end of her shift(around 4:30 isn) and was rude . Onto the food… burgers were ok but not cooked to medium as asked… more like medium rare. The next shift of bartenders were much nicer. Not sure I’l return… which is sad because we don’t have a lot of options in Seymour/Oxford…

I’m visiting from Atlanta and my Sister wanted to bring me someplace nice. She made a hell of a pick. My lobster sliders were dead on. Fresh Veggies, perfect. Wait staff were attentive and friendly. My sister’s steak sandwich was very good as well as my brother in laws steak plate. I’f I lived here I’d definitely be a regular.

I’m split right down the middle with my experience here today. I’m going to give it another try. 5 stars for the food, 5 stars for the lovely waitress Anastasia. My biggest problem was with whomever was working in the kitchen this afternoon, his unhelpfulness with our special food request. He was unwilling to make an egg omelet for my mother in law. He just wouldn’t do it. He could have, but he just plain wouldn’t. I came in with a group of 6 people: my in laws, my husband and I, and two kids. A few months ago, I had stopped, by myself, and ran into this place to take a look. I had heard good things, and wanted to peek inside and grab a menu to go. My in laws don’t come down this way very often, and I was hoping to find a nice place to bring them for lunch when they come to town. One look at the inside and a look at the menu, I felt there was a good chance I’d found JUST the right place. Today when my in laws came to town, after the Pumpkin Festival in Seymour, I knew just where I wanted to take them. Off we went. My mother in law has a severe gluten intolerance. All the adults in our group quickly began to scan to see what her options were. Truth be told, she not only has a gluten problem, but she has a very bland repertoire of what she’ll eat. She’s an older woman, it’s just her way. At best she probably eats about 20 different foods in the whole world. One thing we always know, wherever we go, is that MOST places do in fact have eggs, and on the menu or not, it’s really not that imposing of us to ask for eggs. Places oblige. She’s got dietary issues. She’s old. Just make her the darn eggs. And they do. At the bottom of center of the menu, it clearly states that we can make it known to them what our dietary needs are and they will assist. All but my mother in law found things that looked tasty, and we ordered. Then we asked if they would make an omelet for my mother in law. The waitress said that they do make eggs on their breakfast menu, and she would ask, but she didn’t see it would be a problem. And why would she? Making eggs isn’t a problem. Not for anyone. When the waitress came back a short time later, she informed us that she was so very sorry to tell us, but the kitchen staff told her that they had already broken down their breakfast making apparatus(I don’t recall her exact words but that’s what it amounted to). She said she urged them to please make this omelet, but was told that they would not. My mother in law, who as I said is old, was very cold on this particular day. It was 82 degrees out and humid, but she was cold. She weighs about 100 soaking wet. She wanted to eat a warm lunch to warm her up, but was now going to eat a cold salad rather than skip lunch. Shortly before we arrived, we had to leave the festival early because she was feeling faint and needed to eat food. This is the reason we spent only an hour at the festival, so this tiny old woman could eat and warm up. And now she was going to have a salad for lunch. At this point I told our waitress, honestly, I thought that was ridiculous and I felt like leaving. My mother in law, the generous person that she is, she said, no, let’s stay, you all have to eat. So we stayed. Shortly afterwards, our waitress came back to the table and mentioned to my MIL that they DO have gluten-free pasta and would be happy to make that for her. Unfortunately, she just isn’t a pasta person. Like I said, she eats only a few items in the whole world. I wished she just went with the pasta, but it didn’t sound to her like something her delicate stomach can handle. We all thanked the waitress for her efforts but thank you anyway, she was going to just settle for a cold salad. OKAY fast forward to the meals: THEYWEREDELICIOUS!!! The menu items were so interesting, it was hard to make decisions. Every one of us(aside from my MIL and her salad) LOVED the food we were served. I mean, REALLY loved the food. I had the adult mac n’ cheese. I HIGHLY recommend it! the addition of non-traditional mac n cheese ingredients made this an amazing delicacy, especially the addition of white truffle oil. GENIUS! The frizzled onions on my daughter’s pulled pork sandwich were an added tasty flair… OH, and let’s not forget the desserts! The Bailey’s Irish Cream cake was tasty, the(I ‘didn’t see it on the list, but the waitress told us about it:) bread pudding? DELISH! But by far, the best of the best was the warm divine apple crisp with a hit of vanilla ice cream on top. Will we go back again? Highly likely. I loved the décor, the place is adorable inside and outside, rustic antiquey feel to it. The waitress was a helpful sweetie. The food was downright amazing. Like I said, I totally would have given this place 5 stars if the dude in the kitchen could have gone out of his way to pull one simple lousy frying pan out and made my mother in law an egg. It wouldn’t have been skin off his back, c’mon now.

Beautiful interior but garbage food and service. Ordered the wedge salad and the lettuce was frozen, had to ask for water glasses multiple times. I would only go back if it was just for drinks and there was a seat outside.

YOUONLYGETONECHANCETOMAKE A FIRSTIMPRESSION! Went here for the first time yesterday. To start, there is no way to know which door is for the pub — signage is needed. Ordered a wine and soda — 10 minutes later they finally arrived. Tried the buffalo chicken chicken tender appetizer and two burgers. The appetizer arrived after about 20 minutes. Three small pieces of chicken for $ 7.99 — really? We just started the chicken and the burgers arrived — a restaurant no-no. In addition my burger did not have iceberg lettuce that the server told me it would have. Another restaurant no-no. Folding napkins with utensils in the dining room. The sad part is that the food was decent. My overall experience may not make me want to return. Get your act together!

This was our second time eating Brennan’s Shebeen on the first occasion it was during their limited menu opening and the wait staff seemed a bit confused on what they were to do so I will cut them some slack. We went back last night(party of four) and it still seemed very disorganized. The layout of the tables just doesn’t seem flow very well and causes a longer wait than it should for the size of the dinning area. One table is right next to the entrance so as we waited for our table we were all crowded next to a couple trying to enjoy their meal, I felt uncomfortable for them and myself and went back outside till our table was ready. We ordered appetizers(2 bowls of French Onion soup and Irish Nachos) which were promptly served and everyone enjoyed them then our dinners arrived.(1 wrap 2 sandwiches and the Sheppard’s Pie). A bit of transgression our table was set up literally two feet from the bathroom which we didn’t notice till people started to use the facility. So back to the dinners, I was looking forward to my entrée of the Shepard’s Pie and when it arrived I was instantly drawn to the very small portion size for a dinner menu.(The ramekin was oval shaped approximately 6 inches in length, 3 inches at its widest point and about 1 inch in depth). It was basically all mashed potatoes with a very thin layer of hamburger and gravy underneath all for 14 dollars. So rating the overall experience between the wait time, table location, food quality /quantity and and a bill just under a 100 dollars plus tip(wait staff was good and friendly) I don’t think I will be returning anytime to soon. I really was hoping for a new casual restaurant in the valley that we could go to on a regular basis but I don’t think this will be it. ,

Well I know they are new and need to catch up to speed but I think it’s very rude on a Friday night @9:30 they are putting the chairs up while people are eating makes you feel like you need to leave…
