I contacted Suzen at Garfrericks about wedding catering on a busy Friday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised that she took the time to answer all of my questions then and there, which took about an hour! She even stated that she had a meeting to attend shortly, but made sure she had my tasting scheduled before ending our call. I was in contact with her in the months between this call and my tasting regarding my desired menu. When we got there, we were thrilled to be served by Chef Dave himself. Furthermore, he had gone to the trouble of creating and preparing specially requested dishes not on the menu for us to taste on a Saturday night! Everything that we tried was absolutely divine. The chicken and beef were both tender, and both the mashed potatoes and diced potatoes were out of this world. The asparagus was delicious as well! It was clear Garfrericks would be catering our wedding — the only question was how to narrow it down to only a couple of the delicious options available! Overall, I was so pleased with the service both during our dining experience and during our wedding. Everyone raved about the food at our wedding. My husband and I both agreed our only regret was not getting a doggy bag to take after the wedding because the food was so amazing! I will also add that Chef Dave was fantastic at accommodating food allergies and special diets at our wedding, making special plates for those individuals at no extra charge. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone considering Garfrericks for dinner or for catering!

Wow. Came to Anniston to visit my sister. Looked on Unilocal and found this place. I am glad we did. This meal was A+. We were a party of 7 so we got a good cross section of the menu. Oysters were the star appetizer, but the tomato salad was a close runner up. The shrimp and grits were amazing and Salmon was fantastic. Dessert was the best bread pudding I have ever eaten. This was a truly unexpected find and will eat there again next time I come through Anniston.

We found this FANTASTIC spot on the way back home from the Atlanta airport. We were their first customer of the day– they opened promptly at 4:30. Super friendly staff greeted us and were genuinely glad we were there. Food was extremely fresh– salads tasted like they were just picked from the garden. Had the trout– huge piece of fish cooked to perfection. Wife had the quinoa and veggies– she loved them. I would gladly go out of my way an hour or so to go eat there again. If you love fresh food and are looking for a secret spot to impress your foodie friends, don’t go to Atlanta, make the stop in Anniston– it’s only a mile off the interstate. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to visit!

I’ve been to a lot of different places to eat over the past year or so, and I will def say this has been one of the best! The service was A+ and the food was incredible! The blue marlin I had was unbelievable. The crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had any where period! Never would have figured to find a restaurant of this caliber in this area!

HANDSDOWN… THEBESTORGANICBEEFBURGERTHAT I HAVEEVERHAD! Give this place a try if you want to try a little something different. We also got the four vegetable plate that had some of the best collard greens, stewed tomatoes, squash casserole and lima beans around. I really enjoyed this place and Andrew was our server. Very professional young man and waiter. My new GOTO restaurant whenever I’m in the Oxford /Anniston area.

Once again while passing through I decided to see if they could repeat their last performance. Well they did better. The tomato salad has to have been picked from the garden today. The southwest chicken had the perfect amount of heat, the freshest of ingredients, and perfectly cooked over a wood fired grill. So if you are close, it’s worth the time. Ok. Here again. I come twice a year. Spring and Fall Dega Race. I’m only here on Wednesday nights. Once again it’s great. Salmon special was superb. Good and reasonable wine list. Fresh salads. If you are near here, come here. You will not be disappointed.

Great Sunday brunch. Excellent vegetarian options. The collards, Brussel sprouts and pastries are not to be missed. Don’t let the strip mall façade fool you– it’s a nice place.

I love trying the Unilocal 4+ restaurants. My daughter and I were driving back from a UAB tour to Atlanta. The timing meant Oxford. The service was attentive. Great bread. The organic juice is an excellent treat. We split oysters as well as shrimp and grits. We had the oysters half Cajun, half garlic. Delicious. We really enjoyed the shrimp and grits. In the top 5 we have had(we eat a lot of shrimp and grits). 4.5 stars, but Unilocal lives in whole numbers. I went 5 because you should try it.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I have never ordered anything here that wasn’t superb! The servers are always very attentive and I love the open kitchen concept where, if you sit around that bar, you can watch them prepare and cook everything.

We were in Oxford for a family visitation night and decided to eat dinner before we headed back to Georgia. We always try to find a locally owned restaurant rather than a chain one so we took to the internet trying to find a hidden gem. Looking at the reviews on both Trip Advisor and Unilocal we settled on Garfrericks as they had rave reviews. Upon entering the restaurant we felt we had found the right place. The ambiance was good(although a little noisier than expected) and it looked very clean. It was about half full and it was prime dinner hour(right around 7 p.m.). We ordered a glass of wine and our meals. The wine list had some good choices and the fresh baked bread that was brought to the table was great so we thought we had found a great place to eat. Our server was pleasant and did not hover and that is about where the great part ended. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits and I ordered the chicken Alfredo. When our plates were brought to the table my husband’s shrimp and grits were orange. Not orange like they would be from cheese added to the grits but ORANGE like maybe a remoulade sauce which is not how I’m used to seeing shrimp and grits. The grits/sauce was also thin and runny. The shrimp weren’t even deveined as they still had the black«poop line» running along the back and they still looked fairly raw. The chicken Alfredo also had a runny thin sauce and the chicken breast(boneless) was still very pink inside and chewy. I told our server that the chicken was tough and undercooked and he left(I thought to go tell the kitchen). Glancing around I noticed at least 2(maybe 3) other tables with the same dish barely touched. With that many people with the same dish barely touched you’d think they would realize it was a problem. Lo and behold a few minutes later the chef came out of the kitchen glanced around the room and headed straight for the bar where he sat chatting with a lady(girlfriend, wife?) for the duration of our visit. Never once did he approach another table to see if there was a problem or why people were not eating their food. I did take mine with me thinking I could bring it home and cook it more and salvage it but no, it was still chewy and inedible. To say we were disappointed for the money we spent would be an understatement. The ambiance, wine and bread were great but the rest was a big disappointment. It makes me wish we HAD gone to a chain restaurant. At least then we would know what to expect and would have probably cost us a lot less. I really would have liked to have had a great experience and leave them a great review but they fell very short of reviews we read.

Came here on a team dinner bc Nobles was packed and disorganized. SN: Nobles was overcrowded bc of a huge dinner party from a local company and the wait was ridiculous. Came here and ordered a bottle of wine which at first was out of stock but later found, hooray! Ordered Caesar salad and it was ok… it was warm and I was afraid that I would later pay for that by way of a horrible tummy ache. Next up for entrée was scallops, which was cold and had them re-do and came out hot, however the scallops tasted really salty. At 8⁄2 of my entrée and decided to not finish since the saltiness of the scallops was a bit overbearing. To finish our meal, ordered dessert to go and found that the chocolate dessert was a small cup size not worth the $ 7 bucks. Tasted really good but portion size was underwhelming. The service was GREAT and the food that everyone had was regarded as best they’ve had thus far while visiting Anniston. If I had to come back I would give it another try… the shrimp n’grits looked so good as well as the steak dish.

This was one of the better dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The staff was beyond friendly and felt like they were going over the top to make everything perfect, which they did. The food… Delicious! Had the grilled oysters and a salad to start. I could’ve stopped right there and been satisfied, but went with the shrimp and grits for an entrée and was so glad that I did. If you are anywhere near the vicinity of Oxford, AL., do yourself a favor and stop in for a great meal.

My whole family loved this little gem. We were visiting from south Alabama and found it on Unilocal. The reviews were excellent and they were spot on. We came for a late lunch and were not disappointed. The menu was very diverse and consisted of local ingredients. I had the burger with blue cheese and sautéed onions and it was outstanding. My wife had the shrimp and it was fabulous! I would love to try their dinner menu also as it can only be fantastic. The staff were personable and attentive. Our server Heather took time to answer all our questions and make certain we had an enjoyable time. The atmosphere was very pleasing and spacious for its location in a strip mall. Will definitely visit again anytime I am in the area!

I really enjoyed this restaurant! Dined on 2 appetizers — Outstanding tomato salad and crab cakes. I am a tough critic on both. The tomatoes were Fresh heirloom with great flavor– served with corn, peas, fresh basil and balsamic. Oh and goat cheese, I love goat cheese! This was exceptional! Crab cakes were huge with big lumps of sweet crab and fresh herbs and sweet onions. Great fresh flavor! Ordered Hope Chard and a portion of profit was donated for Breast Cancer. I was dining alone and sat at the open kitchen bar right on the middle of the action. Everything looked delicious! I saw lots of the pecan crusted grouper but everything looked fresh. Come hungry the portions are large! Highly recommended!

A lovely restaurant that combines rustic with modern elements in their décor, and is friendly to vegetarians and those who want to eat light. The hearty garlic-topped bread with soft butter is a great start, and I really enjoyed my Southern Vegetable Plate, which included Mac-n-Cheese, stewed tomatoes, squash casserole, black-eyed peas, cornbread, and pasta olive tomato salad. A fruity lemonade, complete with refills, topped it off. Way too stuffed to contemplate dessert! Grateful for the restaurant recommendation from Atlanta-based brother-in-law Coby who ensured that these California visitors were well fed :)

I have had the pleasure of many great dining experiences in my life, but I must say that the freshness of my Heirloom Tomatoe Salad w shrimp n goat cheese was FABULOUS! My date had Sea Bass, and we ADORED the pink grapefruit n basil martinis! We loved watching the chef cook from the countertop. Décor rivals finer restaurants in very large cities.

We ate here on an overnight stay in Oxford. I am a foodie and have a cooking segment on a local station so I know food! We had a wonderful experience, the food was perfectly prepared and the service was impeccable. We enjoyed the Divers Scallops and the Halibut on our visit. We would highly recommend this resturant. It was a bit pricey but well worth the cost for the freshness and quality they provide. We will definitely be back!

We had heard very good things about Garfrericks, but had never eaten at this restaurant. We were in for a very pleasant surprise. A very nice restaurant atmosphere with friendly greetings and wait staff. Visiting on a Sunday the vegetable buffet was recommended by the polite young waiter. Great choice. The food was excellent except for the cheese grits. A little to much salt for my taste. Plenty of delights on the Buffett. The chilled water was a nice touch and our coffee was perfection. Our first visit, not our last.

Second time here and again the food is great. Sit at the chefs bar if you can. You can see everything. So this isn’t what I would call a cage but more of a grill. Wide selection of foods. Some of the best in the area. Go you won’t be disappointed.

A Five Star restaurant with a 5 Star experience. I arrived at Garfrericks at 815pm on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was nearly empty so I could sit anywhere. I accepted the offer to sit at the chefs counter which I will never turn down. Garfrericks prints their menu daily which proves that this farm to table restaurant is truly serves food that is as fresh as they say it is. After a glass if ice water and a baguette bread basket was delivered, I ordered a Caesar salad. It was delivered with homemade mini croutons and slivers if hard white cheese on top. I felt it was slightly over dressed but that’s from a person who eats salad without dressing most of the time. I selected the pan-seared striped bass with plum sauce drizzle over spinach which was prepared to perfection. To the side were three slices of cooked plums and the plate was completed with an edible flower. The kitchen is immaculate, the prep chef friendly and the chef highly skilled and humble. The restaurant is also very clean, fresh, contemporary, and simple. Really, really lovely! My husband, a chef himself, would have been hard pressed to find anything wrong with the menu, ingredients, food preparation, execution, or presentation. It was that great!
